who hasn't lusted? probably only Jesus!
Disagree - since HE was tempted IN ALL RESPECTS AS WE ARE. Sexual lust, since it's a major issue in humanity, would have been up front in HIS list.

"Temptation", however, IS NOT "SIN".

It's when you allow the temptation to "CONCEIVE" that there'll be a "Birth" of sinful activities.

when we contrast the verse, 'lest ye fall under the condemnation of the debil..' with

'1 John 3:20 and 21
18Little children, let us love not in word and speech, but in action and truth. 19And by this we will know that we belong to the truth, and will assure our hearts in His presence: 20Even if our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts, and He knows all things.
21Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God, 22and we will receive from Him whatever we ask, because we keep His commandments and do what is pleasing in His sight. 23And this is His commandment: that we should believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and we should love one another just as He commanded us. 24Whoever keeps His commandments remains in God, and God in him. And by this we know that He remains in us: by the Spirit He has given us.

Translated in several versions that add "the same" condemnation as the debil, the liar, who condemns us day and night... why would we continue to condemn ourselves likewise?

You've hit on the key issue...the heart. This is the real problem, and it is the purview of God alone. Keeping commandments in our own strength is not righteousness. We don't even understand all that is required in the commandments. And even if we did, there is no commandment we keep either fully or continually. As the song...A Mighty Fortress is our God...suggests, our striving would be losing were not the right man on our side. We need Jesus far more than we know.
And no one has arrived. Some just think they have.
By talking about medicating the pain.. I meant it was Jesus that heals the pain. I was just showing it is the pain underlying that is the issue.. and that filters and that don't address that.

I could never do it without grace.

Obviously it's grace.

But grace COMMANDS the paralytic to "GET UP!"

God set me free from porn, and from evil thoughts, BY GRACE, because I looked for the help from God, and He showed it to me. But if I had described my behavior as "medicating", etc, I wouldn't have been serious, wouldn't have prayed, wouldn't have gotten the answer.

At one point, a filter played a vital role, now, I never even have the thought of porn, I just use the internet freely.
Like I was typing to cameron.. by medicating the pain.. I didn't Jesus mean wasn't involved.. I was just saying it was the pain underlying that Jesus can heal. Addressing the root of the problem.. the sin of it.. rather than the symptoms is the way.

I understood. And I appreciate your willingness to share so openly.

There are filters where someone else keeps the password.

Psychology ("it's the pain!") isn't going to save you at Judgment. Just quit doing it! Spiritual justifications and reasonings do nothing but help you sin. You need to ask God to free you. He freed me--with my cooperation.

It needs to mean everything to you.

Yes, you are going to be damned if you don't quit. I don't care what anyone else says. "Don't you know the unrighteous will not inherit God's Kingdom?" (Para).

If your answer is not "You're right, things have to change NOW," I don't want to continue in conversation. I'm not friends with that kind of wickedness.
Jesus' blood covers my sin. I can't go to hell now. But I can be disciplined and rebuked and even have my life taken by God to stop my sin affecting others.

I personally would have gotten rid of the home internet completely, except the wife wouldn't allow it. filters are at best an interim option.

I hear you.

The expert excuse making ("I'm medicating pain") was what got to me.

I've been to these groups that talk like that--literally one of their leaders, a woman, tried to commit fornication with me. I had to correct her.

These people who talk like that aren't serious.

I'm not defending my tone, or whatever--I know I don't love as well as I should--but I can't stand seeing someone being given these "tools" that don't actually work.
"I'm medicating my pain, that's why I'm doing it"--no, you're enslaved by dishonorable and shameful passions like all humans who came before you, quit making it sound justifiable.
one thing I have had some success with, but requires someone else have an adminstator account (linux os) is to hit the generate random password on your account without looking. then when you actually need to use the computer, the adminstrator can temporarily change your password to unlock your account, That's what I'm doing now, but I h ave to remind my wife to change her password and pray she remembers to run the security updates and changes her password from whatever I set it up as.

The filter, for me, operated like training wheels--God freed me to use the internet without even a single thought of porn entering my mind on a day by day basis.

whatever works, after my scary incident it's no where near the temptation it was, though after my little slip up I'm taking precautions.

I used the filter while I was obtaining the grace I needed to be free to use the internet without the filter.
Once I felt I didn't need it any more, I got rid of it.
I literally don't even have a thought of porn.
If I had to fight those thoughts and desires every day, I'd lose. It's too much work.
The Grace of God obliterates the works of the devil in my place, I don't even deal with it.

sound like my old weekend drinking habit took a few months for the temptation to finally die, after a certain point it stopped even being a factor, but boy getting to that point, that was the hard part.

Grace gets me through. It is the power of God unto salvation from sin and wrath on sin.

very true as I'm finding, thanks for the support, I wont stand by and let a one off grow into a two off, and a relapse and lose all my progress.

There isn't a day I do not struggle with love.

I met my mother when I was five, she had been ill and I hadn't been told I had a mother. She arrived at what I thought of as my home, and this skinny frowning woman told me she was my mother and I was going home with her so she could change me.!!!!!!! It has been a struggle, not only with her, but for me to accept others also with love.
I have issues with my mother as well. She has been dead for 5 or 6 years now, amd i really wamt people to stop saying words about her. I learned after she died a bunch of crap on top of the already crap. I say o forgive and that i hold no grudge, it would help of people would stop sharing with me the clean up stories.

James 3:2 We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.

Which area(s) do you find the most likely to cause you to sin and stumble? For me I'd say it's lusting, embarrassing to admit, but it clearly is one I struggle against a lot.
I was talking to some men at a men's Bible study. One of them said he was young, he was let go from work when he refused to go a party where there was drinking and smoking. Another guy had told about going to a bar with work mates where there was stuff to see he didn't need to be seeing.

I said I could go to a party where there was drinking and drink ginger ale, but I'd stay away from the strip club because it is really hard not to see the girls. So yes, looking with lust, my confession of sin I've committed. It's something I have to make a conscious effort about if a woman is attractive to me and dressed in such a way to show too much shape or skin. Fortunately, I am pretty picky about what looks and body shape attract me, which helps some, and I don't live near a beach (anymore) these days, so that helps.
