1 John 1:8-10, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess G3670 our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us."

“confess” is word #G3670 ὁμολογέω homologeo (ho-mo-lo-ǰe'-ō) v.
1. to affirm., 2. to admit, acknowledge., 3. (specially) to confess (guilt)., [from a compound of the base of G3674 and G3056], KJV: con- (pro-)fess, confession is made, give thanks, promise , Root(s): G3674, G3056

Psalm 32:5, “I acknowledged my sin to You, And my crookedness I did not hide. I have said, “I confess my transgressions to יהוה,” And You forgave the crookedness of my sin. Selah.”

John 9:31, "“And we know that YHWH does not hear sinners. But if anyone fears YHWH and does His desire, He hears him. “ (Pro 28:9)

1 John 3:4, "Whoever commits sin, transgresses also the Law; for sin is the transgression of the Law."

Proverbs 28:13 “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.”

Hebrews 7:24-25, “but He, because He remains forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. Therefore He is also able to save completely those who draw near to YHWH through Him, ever living to make intercession for them.”

1 John 1:8-10, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us."

Hebrews 4:1-15, "Seeing then that we have a great High Priest Who has ascended into the heavens: Yahshua the Son of YHWH, let us hold fast our profession. For we do not have a High Priest Who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all ways tempted as we are, yet was without sin."

Psalm 32:5, “I acknowledged my sin to You, And my crookedness I did not hide. I have said, “I confess my transgressions to יהוה,” And You forgave the crookedness of my sin. Selah.”

12 and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.

14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you,

15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

This is a Prayer for the SAVED PEOPLE COVERED in JESUS BLOOD!
It’s a teaching for gods children

look at the transition between Verses 14 and 15

14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you,

15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Verse 14, Jesus said [YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER] ..when you FORGIVE OTHERS, He is your "Heavenly Father"

but when it comes to not being Forgiven, Jesus calls Him [YOUR FATHER] [He drops the Heavenly] [Jesus, is getting personal here because this is SERIOUS]

We are to OBEY!

that's Grace, but while you're alive, you are to CONFESS your sins to God, not just go on and assume His Shed Blood covers it by proxy and commit your next sin and continue the same process. That's totally ABUSING God's Work on the Cross!
See posts 36, 39 for some of a response to your point here.

Your caution that one should not "assume that His Shed Blood covers it by proxy" is a very valid and important caution. And I agree that for a person to then just go on sinning is "abusing God's work on the cross"

And I take your point of "that's grace" to mean that the grace of God somehow covers the person's sin during the time until he "confesses." And that is true to some degree at least, but how/why does God's grace "cover"? It is still the core fact of the blood of Christ that is always the basis for forgiveness. Covering a sin is not enough - it must be forgiven - and if that sin in not forgiven at the moment it was committed it will send the sinner into an eternal hellfire - for "the wages of sin is death" and only one sin is needed for this consequence.

I maintain that to understand, teach, and live a proper concept of God's love in forgiving our sins will lead to less sinning, not more sinning. His forgiveness is so great that he does not count the number of our sins, and He forgives, and forgives, and forgives. If it was not so, I would have used up my 490 (70x7) forgivenesses long ago!

He is doing a WORK in us, not us doing it. So, the Process, is on His Time and our ability to learn. But, we Sin, we still have an obligation to Our "Heavenly Father" to say, I am Sorry! and do it sincerely.

yeah I totally agree everything Jesus taught his disciples is the son teaching believers about thier new identity as Gods children that’s the good news God has come to save believers in him from the ultimate death

One may word it differently but life coming from certain death is really good news mortals facing death being called by god his everlasting eternal children is a big deal for one who believes it

As we do this

“All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:27-30‬ ‭

We are learning by faith because we believe in him this type of stuff becomes true to us

“And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭23:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“for the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭16:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

these are things that are a revelation in scripture if you look before Jesus words the understanding of God is just veiled and mysterious but now he’s calling us his children and teaching us these truths by faith

it has this effect over time

“that ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:22-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

as we learn from Jesus and the gospel we’re changed into the image of Gods children through beholding the son

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we’re meant to trust in Jesus the son of God and follow him walk after his teachings and ways and be conformed to his image from one glory to the next

In the gospel the faith of Christ the son is revealed

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. ( one gospel of salvstion for everyone )

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We live by the gospel and over time it is slowly revealed tonus and slowly changes us from sinners bound for death to children of God bound to life everlasting yes brother Jesus is calling bekievers to hear and follow his word and he’s saying this word is life to you believe it

I believe our Father forgives sin (and sins) upon repentance and confession. This includes those chosen before the foundation of the world, the elect, who also must accept Jesus Christ as their Savior in this age of grace, and undoubtedly, they will.
1 Peter 1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,
to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
(2) Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father,
through sanctification of the Spirit,
unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you,
and peace, be multiplied.

here's the issue.

if i go around thinking God has predestined people, then i don't need to be a Witness and can toss Matthew 28 Commission out the window.

and what if one of those predestined can only happen if i am the one who Witnesses to them?

They are in serious trouble as long as i think people are predestined.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

how are you going to be a witness, God, has predestined you to lead someone to Him, when you think, God, will make a way for them without you?

People, I see daily or cross my path or in my neighborhood are People, that no one else on CC can be a Witness for God to in fulfilling Matthew 28. That means, God, put those People, for me to be a Witness to.

And each one of us, is in the SAME SITUATION. We meet People, no one else can ever meet. because, God put them in our Path.

They were Predestined to meet God through me.

How many times have I failed?

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

- Ephesians 1:1-6 (KJV)

Those predestined are the elect.
