Modern Christian Music Has DARK Secrets Nobody is Seeing...

I generally listen to what the Lord places in my path for music rather than searching for humanly popular “top songs” , I pay attention to the songs at church then usually I go and find those artists and dig into their music- which is where I picked up The Gettys and The Johnathan and Melissa Helsers music or my local Christian radio station with discernment to it all of course . Or when my morning devotionals feature a music artist I will look into their music. So far with exception to a song here or there I haven’t had an issue. I’m not going to go out of my way to find something to be critical about. If a song doesn't fit biblical principles meaning I can’t find agreement with the lyrics to scripture then I simply won’t listen. And I turn the dial to my preselected biblically sound music when that happens to save myself from becoming critical about it what the fallen world is doing.

there was a time I was very much trapped into things like Rob Zombie, Metallica, AC DC, puddle of mudd, Satan was using that music to Channel anger for his wicked purposes when I was an unbeliever . When I found Christ God asked me to give that up and provided a solution to that and he provided Skillet to channel that energy and anger harnessing it for the spiritual battle now for my mind. My mind literally will not let me enjoy those rock groups anymore I actually like changing the Chanel off or to a different station when I hear Metallica or ac dc now.

At one time Satan was using 3/4 time country music to encourage a depressive state in my mind which led to drinking. now God provided an unapologetic Christian cowboy named Cody Johnson to redeem my joy of country music even a 3/4 time country song about Jesus. While not a gospel singer, God still used this mans select songs to heal something that was broken within me. Something encouraged me when seeing him stand before a crowd of thousands probably many unbelieving and be bold enough to say on stage “ I’m Christian I make no apologies for it, here’s my song about Jesus “

So you use the equivalent of "the force" instead of what EVERYONE ELSE is listening to and then pass judgment based on that....wow. you got issues

He is a He and the 3rd member of the trinity and lives inside the believer and provides direction and discernment. 2 I’m not judging anyone, if you feel judgement probably consider it may be something you need to take to God in prayer . What I’m describing is for me and the path God has taken me on as an individual when it comes to music and worship. Maybe your path is different. That’s not for me to decide. That statement literally made zero logical sense especially when a Christian is called to use sound judgment and judge rightly. By their fruit we shall know them. In all honesty my conscience is clear. Your mistaken assumption is you know my heart better than I or Holy Spirit within me and you’ve never met me to know me that well to speak such things about me. I believe you misunderstand my heart here at the very least at worst I think you’re being sifted and used by the accuser of the brethren to sow baseless disunity and discord. It is with great love and concern for you that I suggest you might check under that hood my brother. Something is awry with your heart and it needs attention.

Not always. There are plenty of Christian artists singing the Word and God is blessing them as a ministry. IE Kieth and Krysten Getty are one couple walking faithfully in their gifting.

This is pretty good. Just way over produced.

That's just the way JohnDB is. You get used to his broad brushing and wild assumptions after a while.

"I" is the first word or in the first sentence of every modern song....everyone is singing about themselves instead of God.
Can't serve two masters....either God or yourself. Who is it gonna be? Christian music looks like secular music with an ego.

Our retired pastor perhaps said it best: Much of Christian music today talks about "What Jesus can do for me" where as the hymns talk about "What Jesus DID for me on the cross". Don't get me wrong...
I like the contemporary Christian Music...but the artists often are still out of date.

Giving to God is serious business especially when it is works of your hands. You need to bring the best of the best...not worn out and used.

The finest wool and best cuts of meat were burned up after being salted...making your mouth water with barbecue deliciousness.

You were not allowed to bring blind, sick, and old animals for the altar.

Same thing goes for today....God WANTS the work of our hands when we are craftsman or experts in the making of something....well over and above cheap and worthless, nameless money. (Although preachers would love to disagree because of greed)
