Revelation 13 -- Is this telling us that this takes place immediately after the day of atonement?

This chapter begins by saying that after seeing the manchild caught up to heaven in chapter 12 John saw this beast rise up out of the sea, it had seven heads and ten horns. John is standing on the sand. God told Abraham that his descendants would be as the stars in the heaven and as the sand on the shore. The stars in the heavens are those that are raptured and the sand are those that are left behind. So here we are, after the rapture, we see the Antichrist beast system rise out of the sea (all the nations of the world). One of the heads is wounded as though it died and they are told to worship him. We see a beast army that no one can make war with. He is speaking blasphemies and he is given 42 months. Interestingly he blasphemes God, he blasphemes His name (Jesus), his tabernacle (church?) and them that dwell in heaven (the raptured saints?). It was given him to make war with the saints, and this seems like we are looking at the war that the dragon has with the woman when he is cast out of heaven to earth. That is the context of the following verse:

13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

This is a direct reference to the day of Atonement. On that day the book of life is opened. We were told in the letter to Sardis that if they didn't repent their names would be blotted out of the book of life. There are three books, you have the book of life, the book of sinners and the book of the dead. So then on the day of atonement some are caught up into heaven, they are those written in the book of life, many at the same time are killed, they are the book of the dead, and those that remain are those left behind, the book of sinners.

Is this telling us that this takes place immediately after the day of atonement?

Revelation 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

Revelation 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

It seems to me that Revelation 17:8 is referring to Revelation 13:3 and both verses are referring to the Day of Atonement when the books are opened and we discover who is not written in the book of life (who is not raptured).

9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

I think this is a definite reference to Rome which everyone at the time of John would have understood. Rome being the capital of the Roman Empire. What made Rome special was they had an economic alliance where if you joined them you could trade with them. You needed to adopt their currency, but then you could trade with them. It was a powerful incentive to join the empire and there was always the threat that if you didn't join they would fight against you. So many countries joined without having to go to war. This woman is sitting on top of this, that would be a reference to the Vatican. They sat tax free and got to go wherever the Roman Empire went and in return they acted as spies. The people were to confess their sins to the priests who could then relay the information to the Roman authorities. She was the "all seeing eye" for the Roman empire. But that was 2,000 years ago, since that time the capital of the Roman empire has moved to every country, Italy, Portugal, Spain and the UK. The British Empire is just the extension of this empire and the UK and the US can be seen as the daughters of this harlot. Today the US sits on seven continents.

10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

Apparently a reference to the Caesars

11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

Interestingly King Charles is the "eighth" Charles. The thought is that when he receives the mortal death wound the spirit of Caesar Nero enters into him.

12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

Fascinating, so at this moment they have not yet received a kingdom. BRICS just met and they are looking at add 6 countries bringing their numbers to 11 and this will be in January. I suspect one of these will fall before January. But this verse would indicate that what we are looking at takes place prior to January of 2024.

13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

This tells me that this is the Antichrist beast system which will ultimately be defeated at Armageddon.

15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

Only the US can be described like this. We are a melting pot of many peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues. We sit on many waters: Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, Pacific Ocean and Artic Ocean.

16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

BRICS will "dedollarize" the world's economy, that would be to make the US naked and desolate. If no one buys our debt we will be bankrupt and our currency will be worthless as leaves blowing in the wind. To eat our flesh is how debt collectors deal with a bankrupt person, they divide up their assets. Burn her with fire indicates war, nuclear bombs, etc.

The book of Jasher

This is not part of the Old covenant, however, the Old Covenant does reference this book several times. Just because a word is not part of our covenant with God doesn't mean it isn't God's word. God can speak to many people in many times and in many ways. Not everything has to be part of a legal covenant. Likewise many legal covenants will have an appendix of relevant documents. By referencing the book of Jasher the Old Covenant makes Jasher an appendix which is relevant to the covenant.

In Jasher 1:16 And unto Cain and his offering the Lord did not turn, and he did not incline to it, for he had brought from the inferior fruit of the ground before the Lord, and Cain was jealous against his brother Abel on account of this, and he sought a pretext to slay him.

This adds a little more understanding to what happened. If we read the Bible we get the impression that because of man's sin God was not interested in the produce, He wanted a blood sacrifice because without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. However, from Jasher we get the impression that Abel gave God the best offering he had while Cain gave God an inferior offering. It might mean the exact same thing or it might mean Cain took items he couldn't sell in the market and offered them to God.

In our experience we see both. We see those who serve God according to the Law not realizing the dispensation has changed and they need to worship God according to the New Testament, and we also see those who offer God the best of what they have while others give Him what they have left over.

The book of life is opened on the Feast of Trumpets, over the next ten days they are reviewed including the book of the dead, those condemned. Peter said that Judgement must begin with the house of God. We know that after the tribulation it is seven more years (seven more days) until we get to the end of the Great Tribulation with the judgement at the Day of atonement. Therefore I expect that the rapture and judgement on the apostate church takes place three years before the end of the Great tribulation and probably also on the day of Atonement.

Sorcery -- is from the same Greek word that we get Pharmacy

There is a word in Scripture that brings to light the potions created by witches or sorcerers. This aspect of sorcery has great application to living our lives as Christians. It is seen in the Geek word, pharmakeia, (5) which is where we get the word, pharmaceuticals, or drugs. References to this word are found in the following verses:

And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts. (Revelation 9:20-21)

And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. (Revelation 18:23)

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Revelation 21:8)
Blessed are they that do his commandments that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. (Revelation 22:14-15)

There is an argument that vaccines have transformed our health but I think we should examine that. The biggest health risk today is obesity and yet it is the most profitable health condition for the drug companies. We have companies that help you lose weight, we have gyms that have proliferated in the last seventy years, and we have drugs to treat all the conditions like diabetes and heart disease. Watch a TV show from the 50s like Leave it to Beaver or Father Knows Best, or watch an old Jimmie Stewart movie and you are shocked at how thin everyone is. We had a significant change in our diet that was promoted as healthy by the FDA and next thing you know we have an epidemic in obesity and instead of going after the root cause they simply treat the symptoms.

A few years ago I had an ulcer and the doctor wanted to prescribe medicine. I asked how long will I need to take this and he said forever. I thought forget that, so I figured if I just gave my stomach a rest it could heal itself. So I would try to fast during the weekend. If the acid built up in my stomach I would just drink a lot of water to dilute it and wash it out of my stomach. After about two weeks the ulcer never bothered me again. I didn't just make this up, I read a book by Gandhi where he said that fasting like this could cure an ulcer. But if you prescribe this method no one makes any money. If you prescribe drugs that people take for the rest of their life then the drug company can make a very nice profit off of you. I am in my sixties and when I go to the doctor they always seem so surprised that I am not taking any medicine at all. It seems to me that a lot of people must be taking all kinds of medication. Is it healthy? Does it really improve health or is it simply profitable?

Children get shots for "childhood diseases". These are actually diseases that reside in flocks and herds of animals. Because we have cows, horses, pigs, sheep, and chickens we have these diseases. If you are exposed to them as a kid they don't harm you, but if you get them as an adult for the first time they can kill you. This is what happened to the native Americans. It is fair to look at the benefit of these shots but that should also be weighed against the cost. There is a financial cost, and there is a health cost as a small percentage of the population will have an adverse effect to the vaccine. Now if the vaccine only needs to be taken once and it has been proven to be effective it is very likely that the benefit will outweigh the cost. But suppose you have to get a booster shot after ten years. Now you have doubled the risk of an adverse effect, and yet the benefit may still outweigh the cost. But suppose as in the case of the Covid vaccine you need a booster every six months? Not only so but we cannot say that the vaccine has been proven safe.

Many have called Me Lord with their mouths, but their hearts are far from Me. Many who feel the judgments, speak praise to others with their mouths, yet in their hearts, they blame and curse Me. I have said to prepare, for My judgments are now falling upon the earth. If you have heard the warnings, when the judgments fall, you will have prepared your hearts. You may LOSE EVERYTHING, but if your heart is in Me, then you will have LOST NOTHING.

My son, as My children move through the TIMES OF TESTING, know that I AM THE LORD, and I will never leave you nor forsake you. My son, brutal weather is just one judgment, uncontrolled fires another. What will My children do when the EARTH SHAKES so violently that they cannot stand? What will My children do when a WALL OF WATER destroys the coastal areas? What will My children do when a MAN who can do wondrous MIRACLES arrives and says he is Me? The world will be in chaos and war. Food will be scarce and water polluted. Have you prepared your hearts to walk in GREAT FAITH and trust Me??

My son, I AM THE LORD, and I know all things. I know who WILL and who WON'T follow Me. I have CHOSEN Mine from the foundation of the Earth. I have sent My Holy Angels out to MARK all those that are Mine. Some of Mine will perish in the judgments and come home to rest. Others I have marked will stand strong and lead many to Me. BRACE! Revelation 17 -- Judgement of the whore, must take place at the beginning of the tribulation.

17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

The ten kings which are the ten horns receive their kingdom at the beginning of the tribulation and then give their power to the Antichrist before he initiates the mark of the beast. Clearly, the judgement on the whore of Babylon takes place before any of that happens.

How does the book of Revelation refer to those left behind after the rapture?

7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

It says that all those on the Earth at this time are those "whose names are not written in the book of Life! This is very, very significant. This reminds us of what the Lord said to Sardis

3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Revelation 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

These two verses in Revelation 13 and 17 give us a view right after the rapture, right as the beast ascends from the bottomless pit. Those who are here on the earth are those "whose names are not written in the book of life". It may be they were blotted out, it may be they were deceived saying "Lord, Lord didn't we do this in your name" and He says "depart from me, I never knew you".

According to the Bible and the Jewish teaching there are three books: The book of Life, the book of the dead and the book of sinners. On Feast of Trumpets the book of life and the book of the dead are opened. On the day of Atonement you find out if your name was in the book of life. You have those ten days to repent, confess and get right with the Lord. Amos refers to this time as "prepare to meet your God". Joel says that the Lord declares a sabbath to the world for them to fast and pray and repent. According to Joel that took place in 2020 with the worldwide shutdown of the economy due to the pandemic (Joel describes this worldwide pandemic that attacks the economy). So then the "ten days" before the day of judgement (day of atonement) could be from 2021 to 2030. Those who are written in the book of life prior to the start of the 70th week get raptured. Those who are in the book of the dead at that time die. That leaves all those who are in the book of sinners, many of whom thought they were good people, even good christians. The events that take place during the tribulation help them to repent and prepare to meet their God. For example, turning the water to blood reveals the condition of your heart. If you are right with the lord you can drink water, if your heart if filled with evil you will get blood. Likewise, calling fire down from heaven revealed who was worshipping Satan (Moloch and Baal).

Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

We need to view the book of Revelation from start to finish as preparing us for this judgement. Think of the letters to the seven churches, the Lord is giving each church an evaluation, things they do well and things that need to be corrected. It is a heads up before going before the judge. The Lord is acting as our advocate, giving us legal advice on how to prepare for this trial.

Based on this the rapture of the believers is a judgement at the day of Atonement. Over the ten years there are ten days of Atonement. Judgment doesn't have to be bad, I always told my students that an exam is an opportunity to shine. The guy who gets 100 is being judged just as much as the guy who gets a 50.

Matthew 25:13-30 Watch Therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour

13 Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour.

This is really incredible. There are Bible teachers who say you don't need to watch because no one knows the day or the hour, yet the context of this verse is that this is precisely why we do need to watch.

14 For it is as when a man, going into another country, called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his several ability; and he went on his journey.

Again, He is telling us about the rapture, but from a different angle. Jesus has delivered the word to us, His spirit to us, the church and the saints to us. It is our job to build up the heavenly economy while He is gone. The rapture is the one festival that occurs when the Lord returns from a long journey. You can view the two years spent building the house as a long journey or you can view this example, either way the rapture is after the Lord returns from a long journey. There is only one festival in the Old Testament that is specifically for a man who returns from a long journey, that is the second Passover.

16 Straightway he that received the five talents went and traded with them, and made other five talents. 17 In like manner he also that received the two gained other two. 18 But he that received the one went away and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.

Again, many of us are nervous about the Lord’s coming, will He be happy with what I have done. Did you hide your talent? He is not going to be happy about that. But just because you aren’t some “great evangelist” doesn’t mean you haven’t invested your talent. He seems quite happy with everyone who did invest, it is just the guy who hid the talent that He is not happy with. This sounds like the kid who always gets his lunch money stolen by the bully so he hides the money rather than stand up to the Bully. At the end of the age we are supposed to take a stand to prevent our house from being broken into, a stand against the bully.

19 Now after a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and maketh a reckoning with them. 20 And he that received the five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: lo, I have gained other five talents. 21 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 22 And he also that received the two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: lo, I have gained other two talents. 23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Enter into the joy of the Lord. The Lord’s return is joyful for some. I tell all my students that the exam is “an opportunity for them to shine”. It is a running joke with foolish virgins that people hate exams, it isn’t true. I have students who get 100 on exams, they don’t hate them. This is also another way of looking at filling your vessel with oil. He gave them talents according to their ability like giving them oil according to the size of the vessel.

24 And he also that had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou didst not sow, and gathering where thou didst not scatter; 25 and I was afraid, and went away and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, thou hast thine own.

Quick question, this doesn’t seem to be my experience, I have had times when I felt I should speak but didn’t. I have had experiences where I was afraid to share my experience. Never once was it because I thought “oh the Lord is a hard man reaping where He doesn’t sow”. Either this guy is very different from me, or else he isn’t being honest. I suspect he fashioned what he thought would be a clever explanation for why he had done nothing as he saw all the other saints sharing their experiences. Bad strategy, lying to the Lord. If you were truly scared of the Lord you would be way too scared to lie. Better to be a "slothful" servant who is honest than one who is a liar.

26 But his lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I did not scatter; 27 thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back mine own with interest.

If he had simply done nothing he would have been slothful but not wicked. Fabricating a lie to justify his action indicates he was also wicked. Then the Lord hits the real objection, I was afraid of man. If you were afraid of man then share with the saints, they welcome all testimonies. I used to be a stock broker and you can do much better with wise investing in the market, but at the same time I can understand someone who is scared to do that. There are guaranteed investments with banks, easy peasy.

28 Take ye away therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him that hath the ten talents. 29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away.

Wow, this guy thought he had nothing and yet what he did have the Lord and all the saints want. Too bad he didn’t appreciate what he had.

30 And cast ye out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

This is where it gets confusing. What does this mean? I suspect there have been a lot of erroneous theories posited on this. Things like purgatory and indulgences. All I know is if the Lord comes tomorrow and I am left out in the dark I will be weeping and gnashing my teeth. I’ll have 1,260 days to turn things around.

One final comment, the context of this story is that we need to watch for the Lord's coming, but he is comparing this to "watching for a final exam". It isn't sufficient to know when the exam is, you have to study, you have to prepare, you have to show up ready. Our entire Christian life is an opportunity to invest the Lord's talents and build up the Lord's economy and if you do that when He returns you will have a spiritual bank account that is full, a vessel full of oil. The true treasure on this earth is a word from God that is your experience. A real treasure is an experience of faith, hope and love. If you don't have that you will be ashamed at the Lord's coming.
