What you're promoting is the heresy of gnosticism.
why?
you think the guy who worshiped Apollo [king of the Bottomless Pit in Revelation], Constantine, was God's choice to put His Word together and deciding factor between which Books are Inspired and which are not?

i think Heresy, is thinking, that having Satan put our Bible together is a cool thang!

Most people blindly follow Bible only when the world is full of scripture. You have to study the history of the Bible. They never said it was the only scripture. They used their own criteria for making the book and didn't claim God told them. They basically said it all had to tie together and have quotes from the old testament. Most of history the other books were accepted. You can even get them in new testament Greek and English on Google books. Not to mention that it stops scripture from being written today. If the Bible ended everything then why does it itself promote the gifts of divine revelation. Seems like a confusion to end something with books that promote it. I've thought about the Bible being perfect but it's really like saying God is perfect. Everything with God is perfect. Every good and perfect gift comes from God according to the Bible, not just the Bible. When that which is perfect has come that which is in part will be done away. But how can it be the Bible. They had Bible. It's like saying when the perfect comes the perfect will be done away. Because compiling scripture made scripture cease if so. Scripture got rid of those seeing in part scriptures? Putting a book together that promoted seeking to prophesy cancelled prophecy? It listed the gifts of the spirit but as soon as you read the book it's too late? Cessationist promote a dead Bible as perfect because half the New testament isn't valid to them anymore.
Jonathan according your Profile, you are a child of God and your favorite vers is John 3,16.
Your are on CC since 2019, so with which purpose you started this thread?

We've been through this before on another thread. No I don't mean the apocrypha
which seems to be your favorite. There are plenty of writings available if you search.
Yes, we have been through this before, and you seemed to reject what I said, then, so you now calling
the Apocrypha my favourite is quite misguided, and a little snarky/rude, given your attachment to them.
Cryptic allusions to some as yet un-named other books... what exactly are you on about?

I know the Bible. I'm not against the Bible. I've read it like ten times including audio CDs. I went to Bible college. But my understanding is nothing has ceased. The book promotes everything and you can't cancel it. It means it. The book is finished so don't believe it? As for criteria you'd have to read them.

So you believe they put the Bible together under divine inspiration? Then there's still divine inspiration! Some of you contradicted yourselves. Church father's still got divine inspiration to you; why couldn't they have just as easily pinned scripture? And I don't see any answers to my supposed loopholes. How could the scriptures cancel putting out scriptures if scripture is the perfect? And how do you cancel apostles with a book supporting their office? The New testament is full of support for gifts. It's like saying here's the book not to follow.
When you say, "How could the scriptures cancel putting out scriptures if scripture is the perfect?", you seem to be presupposing that those books are Scripture. What makes you think that they were penned by Apostles?

From what I understand, many of those books that some people argue should be included, had been scrutinized by very learned and devout men... and they came to the conclusion that, for one reason or another, they lacked credibility. Either penned by people other than whom they were attributed to; or that they were not in-sync with established Scripture (or often, contradicted established Scripture), or presented by known fraudsters.

Why is it that you seem so cynical about these things? Why do you present all this as fact... like you might be some devout scholar that has studied these books for years and years, like the folks that actually did do when compiling the Bible? You act like they did it all on a whim and in a cavalier fashion. I think that you're being rather uncharitable to people that you don't know in the slightest way.

No you do not. Because if you did, you would never have started this thread.

The Bible is indeed a God-breathed miraculous text. And the contents are absolutely factual.

You seem to be doing that right now... are you not claiming that Bible is "incorrect" because it doesn't include other writings that you seem to like?

In my experience, those who deny the canon want to change scripture in the name of "new revelation."
i cannot answer for anyone but myself. but i do think many of the quoted Books in the current Canon, that are not Books themselves in the Canon, but rather just many Verses used by the other writers of the Canon, should have been more carefully considered.

even though many Books absolutely "do not" belong in the Canon, there's still many Books that should have been considered better, still fill in many blanks for the History of Adam until Jesus.

example, not a big fan of Maccabees, but the information in it does in fact fill a lot of the Void between the last written Old Testament period until the Messiah. so, in that light, they are valuable. not Inspired valuable, but very key to know the big picture.

I'll stick with the decision of the Church. Without a single and complete objective standard, there is no basis for truth.

we had a standard already, a bunch of scrolls.
and if you think the demonic Roman Catholic Church was the Church back then, you've got bigger issues than what is and not in the Canon.

God bless you brother for knowing the history of how the Bible was created. This is a difficult topic for many Christians, especially Protestant Christians.
