What does God say about immigrants?
“
When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not wrong him. The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as one of your citizens; you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt” (Lev. 19:33-34).
Exodus 22:21 ESV
“You shall not wrong a sojourner or oppress him, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.
Numbers 15:15-16 ESV
For the assembly, there shall be one statute for you and for the stranger who sojourns with you, a statute forever throughout your generations. You and the sojourner shall be alike before the Lord. One law and one rule shall be for you and for the stranger who sojourns with you.”
Of course, Heaven and God's kingdom-to-come have entry requirements.
Is Israel justified to limit who can emigrate there? Are Israel's Jews obligated to become a minority in the only Jewish nation in the world?
As an American and as a Christian I believe that the U.S. SHOULD welcome ALL who want to come on one condition; that they pledge their agreement that they will respect and abide by the U.S. Constitution rather than, for example, Sharia law or some other belief system.
As a Christian, what are your thoughts, please?
