Yes, Spirit and truth, not merely material and literal. This is the way sacraments work in Christianity. They represent and symbolize things. There is often a material component, but it symbolizes something deeper. We must not miss that.
Spirit and truth is real a greater reality than mere materialism. symbolism is not real.

Is that question a yes/no or a matter of degree? I surrender all. That is a must.
Maybe you do and maybe you don't. If I see a picture of you without a yoke around your neck and without a cross draped across your back I'll have my suspicions.

I see what you are doing there. You are visualizing a literal yoke and cross. (y)

They actually ate His literal flesh and drank His literal blood while He was on earth? If so, why use bread and wine at the last supper?

And what is the benefit of eating actual flesh and drinking actual blood?
You call Jesus a liar, i will not.

Does using leavened bread being for communion constitute 'syncretism'?

No.
It does if one who rejects that and only accepts unleaven bread pretends its ok and has communion with them.

Except Jesus when He said that did not give them a yoke or a cross.
Before he gave them bread and wine He said, you must eat His body and drink His blood. Them when He gave them bread and wine He said this is My body and blood.
If he had given them a yoke or and a cross even a small one for the pockets then there would be similarity.
