Don't let facts get in the way of your conspiracy theories. Trade? Russia has been profiting massively from oil and gas sales to Europe. Check out the times that Russia has attacked other nations. Chechnya, Georgia, Transnistria, Syria, Abkhazia and South Ossetia give the lie to your pro Russian propaganda.

If Putin wants peace, he has an odd way of going about it. Finland has been neutral since WW2. Putin's unwarranted invasion of Ukraine has driven the Finns to join NATO. Well done Vlad! European military spending was pathetically low. Now they are ramping up. Western nations get the opportunity to use up old weapons that just sit in storage and test out new ones in actual combat. Russia's military weakness is on display for the whole world to see. Putin's 3 day "special operation" has become over a year of death and destruction. And for what?

You should learn some history. Patton and Churchill were exactly right about Russia. Poland, Bulgaria, Romania and East Germany were occupied by one of the most evil regimes in history. Russia inflicted incalculable harm on those nations as well as its own people. Christians were persecuted, imprisoned, torured and murdered.

The collapse of the Soviet Union was one of the best things to happen in the 20th century. Putin thinks it's the worst. His deluded desire to restore Russia to its former glory will fail. The war is bleeding the country white and Chechnya may well revolt again. Putin's army may well be too weak to prevent Chechin independence. If Chechnya goes, others may follow.
This is the western narrative.

Living under the present Ukrainian regime is a nightmare. Recruiting means a beating, a gunbarrel in the ribs then thrown into the back of a van. Especially if you have Russian blood. Opposition parties, free speech and journalism is dead as a doorknob. Free and fair elections are a distant memory.

Frankly the regimes of BOTH wretched countries make me want to puke.
I truly pity the non-belligerent victimized Ukrainian people and the non-belligerent victimized Russian people caught in the crossfire between warring Mafia crime families.

The problem in this scenario are the bloodthirsty warmongers who agitate endlessly for escalation of hostilities, forment irrational hatred, and demand that more bodies be thrown into the meatgrinder.

And that includes several posters on this thread. You know who you are. Gods judgment does not sleep don't you ever forget it.
they don't have any idea because the western media does not report it, young boys old men just get rounded up and sent to the front. It's a meat grinder.

I have never in my lifetime witnessed the lies and propaganda we are seeing.

even in ww2 the news reported the truth.

Maskirovka seems to have convinced some of the posters here. Why don’t you people read yourself up on Russian dezinformatsiya and maskirovka?

Have you noticed Russia has used the same excuses for going to war against Ukraine as America has with Syria.
Which is somebody is growing viruses in a laboratory.

Only Russia accused America of funding the project in Ukraine.

Hmm I just wondered if that was handshake deal between bush and putin then there's trump and Putin.
Then there's Obama and Putin.
Then there's biden and putin

Russia is good at disinformation. They know how to poison people both figuratively and literally. They’re present in every corner of our society. Repeating their narrative constantly. Making us divided and polarized.

They’re funding both sides of the aisle. Democrats versus Republicans. Conservatives versus liberals. Pro life versus pro choice. Gays versus straights. The LGBT community versus the anti LGBT community and so forth.

We can’t do that because we don’t understand the Russian culture, and because we can’t force people to fall back in line. Our constitutional rights are being played against us. It’s like the alligators feasting on a party of one legged bunnies.

I have been to Russia several times. They do not have our rights to criticize the authorities. Putin knows that at some point NATO will no longer have the full support from the western world. A ceasefire would give him time to regroup. Ukraine has now to react swiftly or else eventually will the Kremlin be dragging this on for years until the West are too divided to offer any resistance.
i'm pretty ignorant of the topic (and too indolent to read this whole thread), but i wondered what you think of the vast sum of money (and weaponry) this country has given to Ukraine?

i have concerns about it because there seems to be no oversight or accountability thereof?

I'm 71 and ex military. The context is pretty straightforward. Putin wants his empire back. 2014 showed Putin that the world was not going to hinder him. He embarked on a military expansion, using the money from oil and gas to do so. Once he was satisfied with the expansion, he looked for excuses to invade Ukraine. He found some, lied his head off about the rest and voila! You have a war. He can't even tell the truth about that. "Special operation". There's nothing special about it. Except that Ukraine would not lie down and die and much of the world decided that Putin had gone too far this time.
I take it that investigative journalism is not your forte? Because the well informed wise guys have reached a startlingly different conclusion as to the insipient pretexts for this conflict. Mostly having to do with broken words, bad faith and knives in the back.

If you care to search this thread, you will see many videos where McCain, Nuland, and others are gearing up for a pre-planed war from a long time ago.

Lets put it this way:

The Bidenistas were frequent guests. Very frequent. And these visitations were always highly profitable. There were biolabs scattered around plotting and planning their sinister business. Ukraine was known as a money laundering, drug and human trafficking center of Europe. A lawless gangland run by despotic leaders.

A perfect combination of factors that draws "the boyz" like flies to carrion.

$1000 a day for mercs who fight Russkies.
At first I thought you were exaggerating... $1000 a day turns out to be a modest understatement. London's evening standard says 1500 Pounds which is about $2K... that adds up pretty quick. You can be a millionaire in no time!

That is a very prescient opinion quite frankly.

Biblically, all peoples and nations inevitably submit to the beast.

Rev 13:2
And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
Rev 13:3
And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
Rev 13:4
And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
Rev 13:7
And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
Rev 13:8
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

All of this blood money siphoned off from the US taxpayer, who is already a whitened near-corpse barely able to fog a mirror.

When the USD money tree dies, I suspect these international intrigues will be somewhat hamstrung. But just like a hydra, more evil will sprout up in its place.

The problem is, what follows MAY BE EVEN WORSE. These nations (like China, Russia, Iran, SA and many BRICS countries etc) are utterly authoritarian and brutal human rights offenders who care nothing for individual rights and freedoms. For their own citizens or anybody else.

I take no side in ANY war or conflict. I am just waiting for Jesus and His promised rest in the Rapture.
But we should always pray for repentance for these countries so that perhaps God's judgement may somehow be stayed for a little while.

2Ti 3:13

I try to be conservative in my posts.

Find out what "groups" are fighting in Syria, Iraq, and in other ME hot zones. And what they are getting paid. And by whom.

The ugly truth is that there are HUGE numbers of unemployed men in the ME where the ONLY source of income is as a mercenary.
They literally have nothing else to do, as the economy is in shambles (part of the destabilization objective BTW). So this is their only profession, and that which they use to feed their families.

There is oversight and accountability. Anything to the contrary is Russian disinformation. Because the US military is doing their job very very carefully and very specific people sign off as having received the exacting lists of equipment and locations that the munitions are delivered to.
Meanwhile Ukranians have records as to who gets each piece of equipment and they sign for it. No different from how our military issues equipment. Every soldier is held responsible for each piece issued.

Each city mayor is also held responsible for every nickel they receive for military defense. Two thought they could get away with skimming and found themselves arrested and in jail.

Nobody is skimming except for the stupid Americans who fund raise for going to Ukraine....they are the only ones currently getting away with anything. (Probably not for long because when the alphabets investigate you they usually turn up something)

Also....
This equipment is not given....it's sold. Ukraine will pay it back slowly over time. The UK just finished paying for the help they received from WWII back in 2016 I believe.

So relax your jets.

Well, that’s a bipartisan decision reflecting the strategic interests of this country. The lawmakers have found that weaponry and money to Ukraine outweigh the costs of providing it, like it did when we provided the Soviet Union with weaponry in World War II. It wasn’t a given back then either.

If you understand end-time prophecy, you will quickly come to the conclusion that we are running out of this commodity very rapidly.

But more practically speaking, war is yet ANOTHER means to burden the citizens with vast unpayable debt burdens. Another insult nobody cares to address. Bankers and corporations always find war very profitable.

A word about Ukranians being conscripted off the street. Yep....they do that.

But in this area of the world indecision is the cultural "go to". It is their defining characteristics.

These conscripted men are forced or even handcuffed....they aren't even given forward positions. They do logistics and medical aide. All this equipment needs maintaining and cleaning and shuttling about. Loading and unloading....medical supplies ferried about. It's not glamorous work but it frees men up to fight.

Most are just fine with being conscripted....there is a very strong sense of nationalism in Ukraine....and the worse the Russians behave the stronger Ukranians resolve becomes.
