Really? Well then riddle me this:

Do you actually believe that those who avidly (more properly "worshipfully" IMO) listen to "Dire Straits", "Eric Clapton", "Moody Blues", "Bob Dylan" etc. would EVER care (or even dare) to audition anything Augustus Toplady produced? How about these rock band members themselves? Oh yes lets include YOU on this list.

I think not. In fact I think that if they DID, they would suffer the offense and persecution of the Cross. Which to them is anathema. Suffering for Christ's sake and bearing their cross that is.

Another couple of points:
Is Augustus Toplady saved? Are these rock band members saved?
Who is the theme of everything Augustus Toplady ever wrote and Who is he glorifying? (hint: Almighty God).
Who is the theme of everything these rock bands ever wrote and who are they glorifying? (hint: fallen men, the fallen world and its fallen ruler).
What type of songs are sung in the Bible, both OT and NT? Are there any other kinds whatsoever recorded to have been sung?

You see, beyond and despite all accommodation and excuses, yearning for and exulting in the worldly music issuing from contemporary "rock and roll" bands is nothing more than keeping on foot in the world and the other ostensibly in heaven.

Exo 20:3
Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Jesus is not even abiding within the present day modern Laodicean Church. Why so?

Rev 3:19
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Rev 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
The love and non-judgmentalism is overwhelming. I didn't realize before that my salvation hinged on the kind of music I listened to. I never knew I was an idolater of secular music, either. It's true that when I listen to a Moody Blues love song, it is akin to sacrificing my infant child on the altar of Molech.

In all seriousness, you are devoid of love, grace, and you judge nonsensically. You accuse others of things they're not guilty of, and pat yourself on the back for not being like these sinners. Your arrogance and self-righteousness beam throughout your posts here.

But, I waste my breath. Well, typing. Pride like yours is not easily cut through by mere human hands. Moving along.... I suggest you do the same.

During the summers and parts of early winters of '69 through 72 I was
granted to share the Word in the Rocky Mountains above Boulder, Colo.
The so/called Jesus freak revolution was in full swing all the time I was there.
On one of the occasions I was making the rounds with the local ranger
up near Brainard lake, where an open air rock concert was to be held. When we
arrived there, the ranger continued on his business, and I went on into the fray
to share the Word with many very eager-to-hear learners. Walking there I did
espy several of the folks running around stark naked in the nearby forest, not
surprising. Ignoring them I continued led by the Spirit to open my moutn and speak.
When this occurred, I too learned, and it was holy and wonderful, not the entire crowd but
the Lord was ther with us. Be in the world but not of the world. Our Father will take what is
not to bring down what is........He always does. Praise God, He is worthy, not we.
I spent some time in Colorado many years ago, and climbed one of the Flatirons, too! .:D

Sounds like he has made an idol of what's his name Toplady. Some people just love to revel in their error.

I can see what you're looking to find
In the smile on my face
In my peace of mind
In my state of grace
I send what I can
To the man from the ministry
He's a part of heaven's plan
And he talks to me
Now I send what I can to the man
With the diamond ring
He's a part of heaven's plan
And he sure can sing
Now it's all I can afford
But the Lord has sent me eternity
It's to save the little children
In a poor country
I got my ticket to heaven
And everlasting life
I got a ride all the way to paradise
I got my ticket to heaven
And everlasting life
All the way to paradise
Now there's nothing left for luxuries
Nothing left to pay my heating bill
But the good Lord will provide
I know he will
So send what you can
To the man with the diamond ring
They're tuning in across the land
To hear him sing
I got my ticket to heaven
And everlasting life
Got a ride all the way to paradise
I got my ticket to heaven
And everlasting life
All the way to paradise

Defending your favorite, much preferred, secular non-Christian music and non-Christian musicians again? Just cannot help yourself right?

Knopfler made about as profound a commitment to Christ as did Bono (Bono ALSO being evidently considered a disciple in a bogus Laodicean Church that I abandoned. Simply because he mentioned Jesus once or twice! Instantly elevated to the status of a prophet!). As in zero commitment. Bible studies every day striving to know His truth? Nope. Growing in Christ? Nope. Suffering the offense of the cross? You have got to be kidding. Living a life abiding by the doctrine of the apostles? Not a chance. Discipleship? That would require a teensy tiny sacrifice so no way Jose. Living as a pilgrim and sojourner waiting for his redemption in Christ Jesus? I seriously doubt it.

Did Knopfler or Bono depart from Egypt/Sodom leaving everything behind? Not so you would notice.

"He has produced albums for Tina Turner, Bob Dylan, and Randy Newman."
Really? Interesting. No association to Christian bands or musicians? Like EVER?

And we all know what lurks beneath the pop music scene....right?
But Knopfler was fully committed all in all day all his life to this scene yet he failed to recognize or come to terms with what it really is all about? And made a bundle peddling it too....???
https://vigilantcitizen.com/category/musicbusiness/

"Knopfler has been married three times, first to Kathy White, his long-time girlfriend from school days. They separated before Knopfler moved to London to join Brewers Droop in 1973. Knopfler's second marriage in November 1983 to Lourdes Salomone produced twin sons, who were born in 1987. Their marriage ended in 1993. On Valentine's Day 1997 in Barbados, Knopfler married British actress and writer Kitty Aldridge, whom he had known for three years. Knopfler and Aldridge have two daughters, Katya Ruby Rose and Isabella “Issy”, an actress.

Knopfler is a fan of Newcastle United F.C. "Going Home (Theme of the Local Hero)" is used by Newcastle United as an anthem at home games.

Knopfler has a collection of classic cars which he races and exhibits at shows, including a Maserati 300S and an Austin-Healey 100S.

Knopfler was estimated to have a fortune of £75 million in the Sunday Times Rich List of 2018, making him one of the 40 wealthiest people in the British music industry."

Mat 7:23
“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

Mat 7:15
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

And here is one for you @Magenta : a little reminder of the state of affairs in this present age.

1Ti 2:12
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
1Ti 2:14
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

Well congratulations on your well-founded epiphany!
I guess moving on went over your head. So, I'll do it for both of us. Time to stop wasting any more typing on someone who pats himself on his own back for his superior righteousness, and is thoroughly unable to temper his pride with even a modicum of grace.

In Indonesia, English is known as a language with the most complicated grammar ever
(i mean what other languages have 16 tenses in it?!)

therefore i decided to create a thread where you HAVE TO speak with wrong grammar lol

i know this doesn't make sense, but i thought that it would be interesting :D
I dont wanna speak with no wrong grammar. So I aint no how.

Oh. So you were convicted, preached to yourself about your own addiction to video games problem, repented of it (I guess sort of), then curtailed that behavior which you yourself judged as being un-Christian.

But you refuse to preach the same way about the same thing to others?

And then blast me for calling out what is for all intents and purposes un-Christian rock music?

Mmmmkay. Whatever buddy.
You missed the point. I did not go around preaching against video games for other people. That was a personal thing for me. Just like rock music seems to be a personal thing for you. So you shouldn't go around preaching it for other people.

That guy with a queer name did write this lovely tune .:). Whether a music aficionado or not, many
have probably heard it regardless of normally preferred musical genres. Laying to rest another lie

Not only should I, the fact is that I am Biblically compelled to do so.

Why would I not warn people that the local well has been poisoned?
A well that I myself drank from and which caused me so much sorrow and harm?

So you are saying that secular rock and roll music is good? Hells Bells and all of that?

OK man. Suit yourself.

So... Like... I get the impression you are pointedly missing the point so you can keep ranting against something you personally have trouble with.

Either that or you honestly believe everybody has a problem with it just the way you do and you have a Divine mission to save them from it.

Either way it must be really hard on your blood pressure. Not to mention your digestion.

Wrong again. It was force fed to me like an Abu Ghraib inmate. And to all the rest of the teeny bopper kids back then AND TODAY!
With the rare exception of Christian kids who had extremely diligent Christian parents.

I feel as much affinity for consuming secular Hells Bells music as I do for consuming stinking garbage shouldering in Valley of Hinnom.

Hey don't blame me. Blame Paul and his outrageous discipleship methodology.

I was going to reply and say:

"OK. So what does that then make of you? An unholy pushover?"

But on second thought I considered it more prudent to refrain. Glad that I did. Or did not. Whatever.

Again we must be in the world but not of it. Being so, nothing will be inherently evil. Better said, cannot have an evil effect on anyone so.

I had to rappel down the back of that Flatiron!

I'd never done anything like that before. They made me go first LOL

I climbed a mountain or two and did some other rock climbing also.

While I was in Colorado, I saw a concert at the outdoor Red Rocks Amphitheatre: Pablo Cruise.

Though I cannot find it on any of their concert date listings .

That was about forty four years ago, though...
