Too complicated Elisabet. Language learning is about sounds, cadences rhythms etc.
It is also about building up a complex system of words and meanings through context.
So really total immersion is the best way to learn a language - like a baby.
Grammar stuff is really the last leg...crossing the i's and dotting the t's
If you say:
"I was looking for the Lamb Chops yesterday in the fridge, but it was too late, my brother already ate them."
I totally understand you, even though the correct way to say this is:
"I was looking for the Lamb Chops yesterday in the fridge, but it was too late, my brother had already eaten them."
It is also about building up a complex system of words and meanings through context.

When you're a dyslectic this is a part of everyday life. I'm not always sure when someone is laughing, did said person laugh because what I wrote was funny, or because it had some funny misspellings lol. I have been proofreading this, so I hope the typos etc are not present lol.

I'm not good at writing period. Throughout my life I've had to come to terms with a learning disability that affected how I write and comprehended things. If people don't like how I write and prefer to judge me based on that, then God Bless them...I worked my tail end off to get where I am at and nothing and no one will try and tell me otherwise
First of all, what were you doing inside the fridge? Then... why should we care how late in the day it was? Thirdly, if you knew your brother already ate them, why were you still searching for these Lamb Chops?

They assume that creating long, compound sentences demonstrates skill in writing. This is not necessarily the case. In many instances, several shorter sentences will more clearly convey our hoped-for intent.
