But when we speak of Predestination we speak of it as having to do with the execution of the great designs of God by which He has determined the time, place, order and destiny of all beings, worlds or events, that every event must be accomplished in the order of time in the exact order and succession of events that He has determined in His infinite wisdom.
We must remember that we in our earthly nature are creatures of time and subject to the vicissitude of time; but God is “the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity and his name is holy.” Nothing can be beforehand with God, nor behindhand with Him. He declares the end from the beginning, and all things are naked and present to His infinite and omniscient eye. Predestination therefore signifies to us the fixed, determined purpose and counsel of God, in which He has ordained irrevocably the destiny of all things, before they are brought to pass in the order of time.
