Cam, you are all over the place - you posted John 14:30 as though you thought it meant something which it clearly didnt. If you can't discern who the Lord is speaking about in his ministering to the people, what right do you have in claiming you understand anything?

Nothing wrong about the statement @VARob - you are defending a truth which leads to a greater truth...if you follow the crumbs you will find it. God reveals not me!
I'll give you credit for one thing: you can nicely ask someone if they have lost their ever loving mind.
But no matter how eloquently you may present your arguments, if you begin with a flawed understanding, you will not find truth. Until you correctly identify who Jesus truly is, your doctrine will be in error.
Jesus in John 14:30-32 is speaking about his death and by whom's hands it would come.
If you read John 12:31 & 1 Cor 2:7-8 you would know they were on their way! - time was urgent! read Mark 14:42 Jesus “Betrayer is at hand” and all was set in motion.
Jewish & Roman authorities AND Judas! is in view here!
If you think the prince is referring to some made up supernatural being, you are way off mark. The Word of God takes extreme care in identifying its adversaries and those who falsely accuse.
You do well to read the Bible with more care.

I will accept this for what it is...but you still have much to learn about the Master and his teaching.
I'm a Bible Student who lives in Melbourne Australia who was a Baptist until I did some digging of my own.
It's actually the reason for my conversion to what I consider "truth" today. The idea of fallen angel theology never sat well with me as the idea of a tainted reward given by God didn't make sense. How can a person be rewarded with immortality and eternity only to have free will to sin perpetually? Anyway, I began to test the Christian belief in this imagined agent of evil, and well, it came up very short.
The study is a rewarding one as it opens up the understanding of many texts, which have been corrupted with these philosophical notions that stem back to ANE times.
We have crossed over a lot of themes already in this thread, so I will resist starting a new topic here.

For Christ it was more about the potential to sin vs. God (his Father) being the only pure source of Goodness.
If you read that section and the verse's I referenced, you will see the Master's mind and why he deflected the title.
