"For He says to Moses: “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” So then, it does not depend on man’s desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.…Romans 9:15-16. The right answer to anyone going through a hard time is to pray GOD has mercy on them.I am not one who preaches carry your cross and expect hardships day and night, but certainly this is a rather callous comment about God.
I'll be 70 this year, still looking. I haven't given up hope. You give hope to us all.
“Now concerning virgins, I have no command of the Lord, but I give my opinion as one who by the Lord’s mercy is trustworthy”Did Paul ever use that phrase on anyone? He only said what GOD told him and only him.
Actually....55 lolYou give hope to us all.
Did Paul ever use that phrase on anyone? He only said what GOD told him and only him.
Why not? Jesus said pick up your cross and follow me. Why not preach what Jesus said?I am not one who preaches carry your cross and expect hardships day and night, but certainly this is a rather callous comment about God.
You can come to the seashore and live in a shell like Oyster. No worries about dating. Problem solved. Then I'll have a new body, new home
Why not? Jesus said pick up your cross and follow me. Why not preach what Jesus said?
I have a feeling that @JohnB might end up being an exception to the rule.Post-resurrection you will have other things on your mind.
GOD may give grace to some, but not to others. GOD said.....I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy. So then you are saying God's grace is not sufficient for anyone besides Paul, let's be clear?
GOD may give grace to some, but not to others. GOD said.....I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy.
You cant play that card on this one.Well I did say "carry your cross."
When did Jesus carry the cross before or after the resurrection?
God has certainly shown abundant grace and mercy toward and upon me.GOD may give grace to some, but not to others. GOD said.....I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy.
You cant play that card on this one.
1 Peter 2:21
For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in His footsteps:
Its being taught post-resurrection as well.
2 Tim 3:12Neither can you.
If we do suffer. Jesus is our example. As in don't whine and complain about it, that is Peter's point.
There are many faithful down through the ages who have not suffered for their faith like the first century Christians, so we cannot assume all will suffer like Jesus, that is not borne out in scripture nor in reality.
Jesus said there is no marriage in heaven. He did not say there wouldn't be any close relationships.
Yet in Genesis Chap 6, the Sons of GOD (fallen angels) saw the daughters of men were beautiful and took for themselves wives. He said there is no marriage "in the resurrection"
When we put on immortality we won't have the same needs & desires we have now. Say good-bye to the old carnal man who will die and be raised as a new creature. The most intimate relationship we will have is the one we have with our eternal God. Nothing will fascinate you more.
