Does anyone actually see the image "by default"...?
Does anyone else not see the image "by default"...?
This is what I see when someone 'embeds' an image (of course, no image "by default"):

Yeah, don't want to go backwards, too many temptations, lol.
When you apply the brake in your car there is a relay button that causes the brake lights to come on. See the blue arrow for its general location.Sometimes that relay fails and the brake lights do not come on when the brake pedal is applied. That relay is rather difficult to get to to replace. Usually means getting into the car with your head where your feet go so you can see the relay to replace Your back would be on the seat where your bottom goes with your legs wrapped over the back of the seat.
This photo shows a jerry rigged (a.k.a. redneck engineering) where someone installed a relay directly to the brake pedal ( see red arrow) and rewired directly to the fuse box. Much easier to access. For the brake lights to come on the driver needs to hit that red button with a foot.

I work on old cars with my hubby, and uh that head where your feet goes, legs over the seat stuff....
been there done that, it's much easier to get that way than it is to get back up
I believe your explanation has the arrow colors swapped.
Also, the device you are referring to is a 'switch' rather than a 'relay'.
Of course, if so designed and wired, the switch may operate a relay.
