What I'm having trouble with is the goals of the Republicans.
Ronald Reagan and George Bush Sr. Both worked diligently and consistently to the dismantling of the kleptocracy known as the Soviet Union.
Now the Republicans want that kleptocracy to be put together again. As if communism and theft are the best things since sliced bread.
WHY?
I've not seen any explanation for why this is good. Especially when Russians have a history of stealing from Ukraine and its neighbors. (Potato famine and genocide of 1930's)
I completely understand why Ukraine wants to be independent of Russia.
What I don't understand is why Republicans have changed their minds about communism and kleptocracy.
Ronald Reagan and George Bush Sr. Both worked diligently and consistently to the dismantling of the kleptocracy known as the Soviet Union.
Now the Republicans want that kleptocracy to be put together again. As if communism and theft are the best things since sliced bread.
WHY?

I completely understand why Ukraine wants to be independent of Russia.
What I don't understand is why Republicans have changed their minds about communism and kleptocracy.
Reagan was elected in 1980 and 1984, so I suspect the number of people who voted for him and are still voting today is a small minority of the Republican party.
George Bush Sr. was a member of Skull and Bones and the head of the CIA, those two things alone are sufficient to conclude he was a very evil man.
You seem to have an agenda to paint all Republicans as immoral hypocrites. I don't believe that the Lord would approve of me trying to do that to 75 million Americans whether they are Republicans or Democrats. You have the right to your opinions but you have become so shrill that I can't read your posts anymore, simply skim them, see that is more of the same, and then move on.
But this one is a perfect example of how absurd they have become. People want peace and don't want a nuclear war. People see that it was unjust to try and get Ukraine to join NATO. People see that it was unjust to have bioweapons labs in Ukraine and to secretly test the weapons out on Ukrainians. Yet you want to condemn people for feeling this way because Ronald Reagan dismantled the USSR and they never even voted for him? You have become a caricature.

Get a clue and give your head a shake. Russia is no longer communist. And crimes of the fathers do not accrue to the children.

Russia still is communist....I don't know what gave you the idea it wasn't. It stopped trying to be capitalistic after Putin suspended elections and killed the last person who ran against him in their last election. They have been continuously incrementally been nationalizing industries.

So this claim that Russia is not a communist kleptocracy when they just annexed Crimea and in process annexing of Belarus by intimidation....

I'm going to need some real facts and not rhetoric to believe something opposite of what I am saying.

Clearly Reagan had a belief and goals of the elimination of the Soviets....something that Putin has claimed he wishes to return to quite blatantly and openly numerous times....including now.
There's a reason this matters. And I simply don't understand the Republicans anymore. Has money trumped morality? Or is it oppositional politics at work here.
I definitely don't want more war.
