"Buckingham Palace is pleased to announce that the Coronation of His Majesty The King will take place on Saturday 6th May, 2023.

The Coronation Ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury."

Might be relevant now that Harrys books is out (also, Prince Harry married an American, but Americans seem not to care, at least the ones on CC dont)

On the face of it though Meg tried to her best to fit in with the royals though she was never really going to because of the culture clash, even apart from racist attitudes. She did however, get baptised into the Anglican church.

For christians and believers, this is actually quite relevant, even if you dont belong to the Church of England, it has a big influence on Christendom and commonwealth nations.
Maybe Harry and Megan are planning to get involved in American politics in a big way. California is possibly the most unchristian state in the U.S. and most likely place to secularly accept anyone that will help position California as the major influencer of an ideology which few may be aware of. i.e. Hollywood is possibly the greatest influence on American 'culture' and a big influence on politics.

God is the only one who knows the heart. God will work His work.

You are probably correct about the interests of people, not only on cc but in general. Most people are concerned about securing their futures. This is built into all of us, self-preservation, and is man's 'primary' source of success and failure.

Maybe Harry and Megan will be a catalyst in the ecumenical arena and possibly race relations. Probably they need to 'adopt' some other cultures children, if only by proxy, to make a big splash. i.e. Support children's charities or ?

Not sure if they will adopt but that would be a first for the royals if they did adopt!

I find it very interesting the contrast between Megs american christianity and the very traditonal and staid church of england.

The wedding, with the black gospel choir (unheard of in churches in England) and the minister.
Before she went with Harry, it was said she was raised catholic, tho am not sure this is true and her first marriage was very much glossed over.

Though Charles did a gracious thing when he stepped in to give her away at the wedding, when Megs own dad wouldnt or couldnt make it. Having both Divorced parents attend a wedding though are not auspicious of things to come. I supoose that is true the world over not just in royal families.

I think it was good to hear that Meg did get along with the Queen and they did have a bond tho the Queen. was trained to get along with everyone. At least Megs wasnt intimidated by her, which I think Diana was. Probably because Harrys relationship with the Queen was a closer one than Charles was! To Harry, the Queen was just granny! And you know how grandparents usually spoil their grandchildren rotten. Its not something parents ever really do.

Grace Kelly was another american actress who married into royalty - the Grimaldis of Monaco. I dont know if the americans cared for her much but she did die in a car crash unfortunately.

Don't hear much about them these days.

The American connection seems to have been lost.

The royalty from India, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Nigeria, and ? are likely the money people Great Britain now 'solicits'.

Rishi Sunak is wealthier than King Charles and even Diana was hob knobbing with the big department store owner's son and don't recall heritage but not GB. Seems that GB, contrary to some Oxford debates which may argue otherwise, is woke saturated. i.e. They are bending over backwards to show their 'supposed' inclusiveness.

There was just before the queen passed the GB born and bred dark skin woman who was 'racially' accosted by the queens lady in waiting. Big news on Chicago tv for maybe one day. My gut says this only fanned the flames of the racists. It sometime doesn't take too many of a certain group to agitate. Really hard to keep track of these things for me and just figure God has it all under observation.

The royal Family's public portfolio is around $28 billion and their private wealth is a secret.

You mention to others to wiki how bout this link to make it easy about Henry VIII wife who may have been a relatively 'sincere' woman.

Catherine of Aragon - Wikipedia
Catherine is a very common royal name now lol

Do people ever get mixed up with the very small pool of names they choose from? I cant keep track, though I always thought Fergie (Or Sarah) was unique. Sarah does mean Princess though.

Anyway if Harry ever did ascend to the throne he would have been Henry the ninth...there are a very loooong line of Henrys.

Lilibet is a very cute name and not sure if anyone has that name, they can call her Lili for short.

Louis though had more in France...werent there at least 14 of them. Its like all the popes named Jean-Paul.

Anyway...the Elizabethan age has now changed to the Charlesian ?
I dont think we will be as known as Elizabethans as it was in Shakespeares time but only history will tell. The Victorian age was quite a unique one. When people talk about Victorians, everyone kind of knows what this means and what she (Queen Victoria) stood for.

You know how in the Bible it lists the 'good kings' and the 'evil kings' or those that did evil in Gods sight...I wonder if anyone has a list of such for the British royal family.

Im thinking Queen Elizabeth would come under the 'good' monarch list. I cant think really of anything really bad she did, except maybe appear a bit out of touch with the real world sometimes. She did a lot of good for her country.

I think the hardest thing for her was raising her own children though...the hardest role anyone has is probably that of a mother. Ruling an empire or being a figurehead is probably a piece of cake compared to being a mother.

Brits used to call Margaret Thatcher 'Margaret Thatcher, milk snatcher' when she cancelled free school milk

I wonder if the Queen ever had a word with her about this...?! Thatcher was very unpopular, but Prime Ministers come and go, however the monarch is always meant to be there.

Anyway. Its now Charles job to chat with the Prime Ministers.

Climate change is a real thing
Wow, I just heard Al Gore explain how real it is! He said we have 600 Hiroshima bombs going off every day! Or was it 600,000 a day? This is why the oceans are boiling! I had no idea they were boiling! This is why the sea level is rising and washing away cities! Wow, this is terrible. This is really the worst! This is Jim Jones bad, this is much worse than some snake oil salesman.

But the message was loud and clear: send us your money or you all die!

Does the royal family even do anything or do they just get paid to exist?
