Hi Runningman. Disagree. Jesus is the Word of God. That's proved in Revelation also:
"He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God." (Rev 19:13)
Jesus Christ is the Word of God. The Word of God created all things. Therefore, Jesus Christ is the Creator, and not a creature. The Greek word is Logos. Christ is the Logos, the Incarnate Word and Wisdom of God of whom Solomon speaks in Proverbs 8. This Word was always beside the Father, delighting in Him, like a Child beside His Father, as Learner showed earlier.
"Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God." (1 Cor 1:24)
Was God ever without Wisdom? If not, then the Wisdom of God, Christ, is Co-Eternal with God. This was the theological argument that was so successful at the Council of Nicaea and resolved most of the doubts the Bishops had. 318 out of 320 Bishops signed the final decree and agreed Christ was truly God and Co-Eternal with God the Father. Colossians says all things were made by Him and for Him.
"16For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. " (Colossians 1:16-17)
And yes, God the Father and God the Son (and God the Holy Spirit) are distinct Persons. But they are One Being/Essence/Nature. God and His Word and His Spirit are One Being, as you and your mind and heart are one being. Both the Word of the Father (Jesus) and the Spirit of the Father, and the Son, (the Holy Spirit) are in the Father, and One Being with Him eternally. The Spirit of God was never created. He can be blasphemed, so He is no creature, but the Creator. He is also a Person, not a "force" as the JWs say. He speaks and only Persons speak. John 14-16 is clear on that.
"For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one." (1 Jn 5:7, NKJV).
God Bless.
