When Jesus developed the plan of salvation, what was the enemy?
what do we need salvation from? what has taken us captive?

SIN
sin results in death, death is seperation from God.

What is Sin?
1Jn 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Rom_7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
Rom_7:8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
1Co_15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

So the plan of Salvation from the begining of the world was to save us from sin. To save us from lawlessness.

Rom 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
Rom 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Notice. obediance = rightousness, and disobediance = sinners.

If the solution to this problem was to remove sin, there were 3 ways that God could have done it.

1st way was to destroy all sinners by death (eternal death), which would be just and correct on God part, because the wages of sin is death.
Rom 6:20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
Rom 6:21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death;....

2nd way was to remove the law so that sin was not counted to us. No law = no sin.
To save us from sin and death God could have removed the law. But then unrighteousness would be uncontroled, and sin which is no longer sin would be emortalized to rein forever.

3rd way was the perfect combination of mercy and justice.
Jesus was able to work out a plan so that the law and the sinner could both be saved.

1Jn 3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

If the law was removed explain why Jesus needed to Die?

Rom 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

2Pe 2:19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

Should the 10 commandments be kept today? Most say yes to most of the laws like not killing and not stealing, not taking the Lords name in vain but believe its okay to remove what doesn't suit their lifestyle.

The ten commandments are part of the old covenant. When the New Testament speaks about the old covenant being replaced by a new and better one that includes the ten commandments.

"And the LORD said to Moses, 'Write these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.' So he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments. " Exodus 34:27-28

The old covenant was replaced by the new.

But we differ in what the covenant was.

What covenant means?
A covenant is a relationship between two partners/parties who make binding promises to each other and work together to reach a common goal. They're often accompanied by oaths, signs, and ceremonies. Covenants define obligations and commitments, but they are different from a contract because they are relational and personal.

The obligations and commitments were perfect on Gods side. God did not fail in any way.
The new covenant is based on better promises.

The 10 commandments were part of the old but were perfect. The law was not failty and God said He would write the law in our heart in the new covenant.

When we try to keep the law in our own strength we will fail like Israel did. If we let God write them on our heart by faith we are living the new covenant.

Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Not fault with the law, the fault was with them (Israel) vs 8.

Fair enough. Tell me though what you do with the passage from Exodus I posted. What's your interpretation?

God gave moses many laws and statutes for His people to keep.

Exo 24:3 And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the LORD hath said will we do.
Exo 24:8 And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.

"All the words that the Lord has said will we do".....
They failed miserably...

Today the new covenant is built on better promises.

I don't say "Lord all these laws i will keep" that world be like Isreal and i would fail.
I ask by faith "Lord write the laws on my heart"

What is the "moral law?"
The moral law is love.

Love God, and love our neighbor.

Here is how we love…

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3

If we commit adultery with our brother’s wife, is that loving him?

If we steal from our neighbor, is that loving him?

If we serve other gods, is that loving God?

If you love Me, keep My commandments. John 14:15

He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1 John 2:4

The 10 Commandments.
So I'll ask you the same question I already asked: What is your take on Exodus 34:27-28, where the ten commandments are included as part of the old covenant as delivered by Moses?

"And the LORD said to Moses, 'Write these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.' So he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments."

When you say "commandments," which commandments specifically do you mean?

His commandments were included in the Abrahamic Covenant, to which the law of Moses was added, temporarily.

The Abraham Covenant was “renewed” and became the New Covenant, in which the law of Moses, which was added, was taken out of the way, abolished in His flesh, haven been nailed to the cross.

Now in the New (refreshed; renewed) Covenant, we have His laws and commandments written on our heart by the Spirit.

As we walk before Him in His presence, in His Spirit, we are empowered to keep His Commandments, the way Abraham did.

And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws. Genesis 26:4-5

That's not very specific. If we're expected to "keep His commandments" we need to know what those are.
Please go back to the first 4 books of the new testament, look at Jesus words, look at what he did, he will give you the answer you seek.

That's not an answer. You don't answer because you have no coherent answer.

different types of law summary;

Ceremonial Law: This type of law related to Israel's worship. (Lev 1:1-13) The laws pointed forward to Jesus Christ and were no longer necessary after Jesus' death and resurrection. Though we are no longer bound to them, the principles behind the ceremonial laws, to worship and love God, still apply.

Civil Law: This law dictated Israel's daily living (Deut 24:10-11); but modern society and culture are so radically different that some of these guidelines cannot be followed specifically. The principles behind the commands are to guide our conduct.

Moral Law: The moral laws are direct commands of God. A good example is the Ten Commandments (Ex 20:1-17). The moral laws reveal the nature and will of God, and still apply to us today. We do not obey this moral law as a way to obtain salvation, but to live in ways pleasing to God.

I thought we are suppose to keep the law but then it says were free from the law??? What exactly does this mean???
Freed from the 613 commands in the Law of Moses. Sounds like a good time trying to keep 613 commands every second of the day? It was considered to be extremely difficult, actually impossible, by all except Jesus.

Paul made it clear there is still something people must do, though, and it's "walking in the Spirit", not committing "acts of the flesh", in order to love your neighbor as yourself, or else receive no inheritance in the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5
13You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

19The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Some of those terms are what I like to call Christianese. Walking in the Spirit means the opposite of walking in the flesh. Walking in the Spirit is evidenced by the fruits of the Spirit. These are the things we're supposed to do and some of this isn't our own doing, but rather the doing of God's transformative power in our life:

Galatians 5
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
