... we fight wars with airbags or elevators or knives.

2 Corinthians 10:4 plus Matthew 24:6~ The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

I was unable to track down any information on the research the FEI used in coming up with these numbers. I am particularly interested in what standards they used to determine what growing up without a father means. is it just not in the home? is it a total absence? what about fathers who become absent with the child is at different ages? I recently read research about how divorced fathers, on average spend more time interacting with their children then fathers in intact families.

If that is true that is a sad comment on the state of America.

Fathers who are in the family spend more time being a positive role model and setting a positive example than divorced fathers.

It’s okay. Keep believing this programming from NRA where they taught you that ”guns don’t kill people”, because we fight wars with airbags or elevators or knives.

At the end of the day we choose our places to live to keep our families safe. I’ve chosen a place with strict gun control, good family values and faith in God.
Because if I was a gun enthusiast I’d be in Texas and collect like 20 guns for “protection”.

Well I've chosen a place with CCW. to keep our family safe. They have good family values and faith in God also. ;)

I respect your choice to live as you see best. If people voluntarily give up their guns that is within their rights. But it still doesn't solve the problem. And until we correctly identify the problem, we will never fix it.
Btw, I'm not a member of the NRA and I don't own guns, unless you count my 50 year old bb gun.
And, again, I do respect your position.

Okay cool. Many civilized nations have identified the problem as : Guns. But in USA we can’t because it’s in the constitution.
‘In the end it doesn’t matter because there are 50 states here to chose which fit your lifestyle.

The problem always lies within the heart of fallen man. I believe until this is acknowledged we will continue to identify the wrong cause and never solve the problem.

Are you including China as one of those "civilized nations"? The genocide of the Uiygurs, the draconian shutdowns, the brutal regime in China is hardly what I would refer to as "civilized".

Is Australia included in that list? The way they set up and accepted quarantine camps without so much as a slight pushback shows how spineless a country becomes when they turn over their guns.

How about Canada where Trudeau seized the bank accounts of people who were protesting?

Instead of the vague "many civilized nations" tell us specifically who the examples are for the US to learn from?

What does the part in bold mean? You’re talking about our fallen world?
Thanks.

You’re a very difficult man to talk to because all I see is a man consumed by conspiracy theories and ”the vaccine”.
Good luck in your journey and I hope you find peace. Maybe you already have.

I didn't purposefully highlight those words. But yes, problems exist because of the fallen nature of mankind and will continue for this reason.
This is why the gospel and prayer are our weapons of warfare. For these alone truly offer a lasting solution.

Human history is filled with examples of Stalin, Hitler, Mao that are far, far worse than the horror of the school shootings. So why aren't those who are calling for the Americans to give up their guns focusing on getting the world leaders to give up their guns. How many kids were killed in the Vietnam war, or in the Korean war, or in WWI, WWII, Gulf wars, Afghan invasion (by both the US and earlier by Russia), etc., etc.

These are the shoes of Jews that gave their firearms to Hitler.

BTW genocide in China is not a "theory", quarantine camps in Australia, not a "theory", and Trudeau seizing bank accounts, not a theory.

:D okay so let’s talk about this.
‘So you’re saying because we live in a fallen world we are unable to identify a problem, or what?

I mean how are you able to vote Republican for example if you’re saying that “we should pray”?
And if I tell you “give up the world and become a monk”, then you’d probably say “no I don’t want to “work” for the Catholic Church” right?

I mean where is your reasoning here? :D

Perhaps the effect of school shootings is completely unrelated to the cause, but one effect of these shootings is to fuel a debate about gun rights in this country.

I'm not the best communicator so I can be confusing at times so I appreciate your patient line of questioning.
As a Christian, I know the root of all problems is ultimately sin. So the answer is always found in God. So I pray and evangelize.
As a citizen, I vote for those who most closely, in my opinion, reflects this.
I place a premium on life because God has placed His image there from a religious perspective and politically as well because without life all other rights are null and void. If you aren't alive, it doesn't matter that you are guaranteed a quick trial or can freely assemble.
There are no perfect choices. But because I don't feel one party puts a priority on life, I vote for the other party.

Well you see dear friend, a lot of other countries apply this same reasoning and arrive at different conclusions. These conclusions result in less or no school shootings in other countries because they don’t treat a weapon of war as a “tool” or as an “inanimate object”.

But as I said, USA is a great place to live because there are 50 states here which differ in opinions and legislation.

It’s always nice talking to you by the way.
