Innocent civilians including kids in wartime are largely killed by bomb raids, not guns.Human history is filled with examples of Stalin, Hitler, Mao that are far, far worse than the horror of the school shootings. So why aren't those who are calling for the Americans to give up their guns focusing on getting the world leaders to give up their guns. How many kids were killed in the Vietnam war, or in the Korean war, or in WWI, WWII, Gulf wars, Afghan invasion (by both the US and earlier by Russia), etc., etc.

These are the shoes of Jews that gave their firearms to Hitler.
BTW genocide in China is not a "theory", quarantine camps in Australia, not a "theory", and Trudeau seizing bank accounts, not a theory.
Gosh I wonder what the problem could be?
Maybe its just US people are idiots??
Couldnt possibly be the proliferation of guns could it?!
Am sure theres many fatherless in other nations devasted by war, aids, famine etc but they havent gone round shooting each other in SCHOOL.
Why are we not securing schools so the shooter can't make it on to the property in the first place?
Well the reality is. Guns aren't going anywhere.Yes this is a reasonable question in a weapons race. When one has many offensive weapons, the other side needs more defensive weapons.
Like agent smith said in the matrix “more more more “
in sweden its mandatory for every citzen to go through firearms training,if 2 are in a car the must be at least 1 pistol between them, its the law.there is almost no crimemaybe its what they are teaching in school?
Or one person did it then they all copied. Target practice?
The US has 'right to bear arms' embedded in their consitution while other countries dont have this particular thing, so having a gun and shooting it must be super important to them.
Sikhs need to carry a knife, but doesnt seem like theres lots of stabbing incidents in their schools. Who knows?![]()
Japan surrendered immediately after we leveled two of their major citiesBut I‘m glad that despite human stupidity no one (so far) has attempted to start a global war using the ultimate weapon : the nuclear bomb.
Yes USA used it in Japan a couple of times when no one had it and pandora‘s box was unleashed And moral lessons evaluated.
I guess even the most stupid realize that no one would win in a nuclear war.
And I’m sure there are those Especially in radical Muslim countries who would love to start one and watch the world burn.
Sweden is one of the most secular countries in the world and has astronomically lower violence than we do here in America, maybe there's a correlation between secularism and lower violence but I guess that's another topicin sweden its mandatory for every citzen to go through firearms training,if 2 are in a car the must be at least 1 pistol between them, its the law.there is almost no crime
You haven't been following the conversation because not only do I not think that but I have also suggested this person focus instead on taking away the guns from the world leaders, an even more preposterous idea.Innocent civilians including kids in wartime are largely killed by bomb raids, not guns.
And if you think Americans are going to just willingly hand over their guns, I have some farmland in Antarctica to sell you. There would be a civil war first
Uhmmm, there was someone at the AP that was recently fired for reporting that Russia had attacked Poland, and that was seen by many as an attempt to start WWIII between Russia and NATOBut I‘m glad that despite human stupidity no one (so far) has attempted to start a global war using the ultimate weapon : the nuclear bomb.

I think there is a much simpler and easier solution for any parent who is worried, and something they could do immediately. Homeschoolhttps://www.gao.gov/products/gao-20-455

From what I understand the incidents in purple are incidents that are not necessarily school related, and just happened on school grounds. From a murderer's perspective, school is a pretty convenient place to kill somebody- you don't have to go looking for them, and your victim will be almost completely defenseless- because for the most part, nobody there will have a weapon.
Accident related incidents happen because someone was being a moron with a firearm. LACK OF DISCIPLINE. Schools don't teach people about guns, so people often grow up without firearm discipline.
School Targeted: these are the incidents that I think of as "school shootings"- lashing out against society, they kill people at the school without discrimination. Without justifying these shooters in any way, I believe that public schools dehumanize young people and create their own monsters.
Suicide: There's probably nothing worse for someone with mental health issues than the godless hellscape of American Educational Institutions.
THEREFORE; the solution, I believe, is very simple, but there are too many people that wouldn't like it.
Stop letting schools be such a convenient place to murder someone. Have better security. "but we don't want the children to feel unsafe".... so, what do you do? You dilude them into thinking the school doesn't need security because it's inherently sooooo safe? That's retarded. The world is a dangerous place. They want to know they are safe because they are being KEPT SAFE because people will FIGHT BACK MURDERERS for them, and they are not just being herded up to be slaughtered.
FIREARM INSTRUCTION- People should be instructed in their fundamental rights; but schools would rather prey upon you by keeping you in a victim mentality. Then some people go into law enforcement or the military, or private security and it is the first time they have ever practiced with or handled firearms. That isn't how this country was meant to operate.

The student-teacher ratios need to be lowered now. I really don't care what the excuses are for why it hasn't been done, or why it "can't be done", we need to bypass the bureaucracy, cut the red tape, and get it done.
Suicides- so, suicide is a complicated subject; but a lot of these school-shooters kill themselves after they kill their victims. I'd wager some of the suicide-victims who didn't kill others at least contemplated killing other people along with themselves: this is at least partially attached to the red commentary above.
While school-systems are supposed to be this thing that helps young people grow into adults, I find there are a lot of ways in which the school-systems play a part in agitating mental-health problems. Ultimately, I think the way we do education needs a complete overhaul- but lowering the student-teacher ratios in schools is a start.
