Anyone who doesn't know he is a sinner is deceived and the truth is not in him (1 John 1:8), and regardless of what he thinks, he will continue to sin all the days of this life.

That’s not what 1 John 1:8 says or means. John is speaking about those who habitually sin and/or who deny they sin from time to time. So either you are a sinner or a saint. If you see yourself as a sinner, you will never renew your mind to recognize that you are sitting in heavenly places in Christ (Epf. 2:2).
I'm a saint, seated in the heavenlies, who knows he still sins, and I ask for forgiveness when I do.

Yeah, I'm a forgiven sinner. Thanks for reminding me.
“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1:15‬ ‭KJV‬

“But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭9:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Past and present we were , but now we are

“if so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: that ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:21-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we were but now we are we used to but now we must

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: for which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

( we used to ) in the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

( but now )But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

( but now we have become the elect of God ) and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. ( so we’re taught how to act )

And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:5-10, 12-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What we were and what we used to do can’t remain what we are and who we are becoming and what we do

the gospel is about re creating repentant sinners from inside out making a whole new person with a whole new beating heart filled with Christs love for those who hear and believe him

We are repenting daily and being forgiven daily. And being delivered daily as well. Its an ongoing process and an aspect of Christs' ongoing priestly ministry.

Knowing I'm a sinner saved by grace amplifies Gods mercy, because it shows how deep God's commitment to a believer is.

We are not 'little gods' we still have a sin nature even after salvation. We shall the time due to being human.

God desires us to sow to the Spirit, not the flesh. We couldn’t sow to the flesh if we didn't have a sin nature still.

Of course God doesn't want us to continue in habitual sin, He wants us to pursue Him and be a right testimony to others. But we do sin as believers. If not intentionally.. unintentionally.

What does not sin in a believer is their spirit.. because that Has been indwelled by the Holy Spirit. So when we see the verse in John saying a believer does not sin.. that is the spirit not sinning.

john 17:20-25

20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you[e] known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”

these verses in john 17 Yeshua reveals the amazing potential of man that is to be one with the lord for those who believe in him and follow his commandments

Brothers and sisters in Christ, be blessed!

A sinner only knows one thing: how to sin! A Christian sinner is neither here no there. He is in limbo, therefore there is no such thing as a “forgiven sinner.” Grow up is a term that you should be really concerned about.

That's false.
A Christian sinner is neither here no there. He is in limbo, therefore there is no such thing as a “forgiven sinner.” Grow up is a term that you should be really concerned about.
Then you're neither here nor there, you're in limbo.

Every Christian is a forgiven sinner, declared righteous by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Mission impossible... let's get real shall we?

Like I've posted before..

A high percentage of posters here will be also high internet users.

Therefore there is also a high chance they also have an issue with pornography.

That's many sinning Christians. (Note...I realize not all who post here are genuinely saved)

Now .. this is the archilles heal of today's Christian men.. and some Christian women.

They are sinning.. therefore they are sinners.

Not condemned.. not lost salvation.. not lost. Saved sinners.

Get real man!

Most Christians have not been taught to understand that salvation is far more than being forgiven

most Christians.......what survey did you garner that info from?

Have you ever tried to be silent before the Lord and learn by experience how much He loves you? I'm talking about Father's unconditional love that y
is it possible to create a post that does not seem to indicate you possess superior biblical and experiential knowledge? It's kind of a turn off

If you consider yourself a "forgiven sinner", you are insulting the finished work of Christ. What you are really saying is that the Lord did not complete His work of redemption. So, either you are an adopted son of God who has His Spirit as a pledge of your inheritance, or you are nothing but someone who got lost the moment he entered the kingdom of heaven through faith in Christ.

Anyone who thinks of himself still as a sinner, guess what, he will continue to sin all the days of this life. Read Romans 12:1-2. God bless.
we just had this very contentious and what turned into a free for all thread right here
25 pages of some people understanding that concept and others insisting they want to be called a sinner

you didn't see that?

People do not want to be called sinners, people are sinners.
While Christians are declared righteous through Christ, we are still sinners. Saved sinners.

If you sin, you're a sinner.

Do you sin?
