I love the Psalms! Back in about 2002. I was extremely depressed, I was in agonizing pain, because my RA meds weren't strong enough. Two Word Faith friends told me my not being healed was because I lacked faith. I had great faith, but according to their teachers, Kenneth Copeland, etc, my problem was not enough faith. The woman friend got breast cancer a few years later. She had her breast cut off, but refused chemo & radiation, because God had "already healed" her. She died a year later, when the cancer metastasized into her brain, going insane before she died. The man friend ended up almost dying of an enlarged prostate. A friend found him unconscious on the floor, rushed him to the hospital where he was operated on, and he is alive and doing well at age 93.
So much for having faith to be healed. I do believe God heals, when that is his will.

Back to my depressed days, I turned my back on God, the church prayer and Bible studies, etc. God never left me in the 2 years I went through that. But finally, God started nudging me to read the Psalms daily. Five Psalms a day, to be exact. I had heard Billy Graham read 5 Psalms a day. And I did. 5 a day, gets you through 150 Psalms in a 30 day month. I continued to do that for 2 years, or 24 times straight through the book of Psalms.

Between my husband and his "If you aren't perfect, you are not a Christian," & my friends discouragement, I had developed a very bitter attitude towards Christian's. I knew I would never be sinless in this life, or perfect enough for God. (I thought that is why God planned to send Jesus?) But the Psalms introduced me to God's people. They weren't perfect, arrogant heroes of gigantic faith. In fact, they struggled, had trials and temptations. They went astray, but then returned to God to repent!! They were weak, unfocused - just normal people. No super heroes. They got mad at God, but then, they would see God's hand in their lives, and they would start rejoicing & praising God. There are many imprecatory Psalms- but only 1- Psalm 88 above, never resolved itself. But the other 149 Psalms, always resolved to praise God & thank him. My twisted idea about what a Christian is, was gone!! So much, that I started reading the Bible straight through again, found a good church, and began praying again. About a year after that, God called me to seminary. Not to become a pastor, but to understand the Bible, learn skills for ministry, original languages and do much more. I did work as a chaplain but had to quit when my RA meds failed, and I didn't have my RA under control.

At any rate,, I would urge everyone to read 5 Psalms a day for set time. It was one of the most beneficial things I have done in my 42 years of serving Christ. Here's some songs based on the Psalms!

Psalm 8

Psalm 23

Psalm 1
Since you brought to light faith healers like Ken Copeland I must add in a comment or two. Ken and Gloria Copeland hardly ever go to the Drs anymore. Joel Osteen's mother, Dodie, was diagnosed with metastatic liver cancer with a tumor the size of an orange and 2 the size of almonds. In 1981 December the Dr told John Osteen her husband that she had a few weeks to live. He looked at the Dr and said 'Dr we believe in miracles' kinda like when Joshua and Caleb said 'yes we can take the giants'. The Osteens went home and prayed and she would quote Scriptures every day. She is alive today at 91yo.
Kenneth Hagin was a bed-ridden boy at 16 diagnosed with 3 fatal diseases by the leading surgeon at the Mayo Clinic and was told 'If one of them don't kill you the other one wil etc'. Well he had a Bible and found Mk 11:23-24 and said 'that's my answer'. 'After quoting 'Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them' months later the Lord told him if he thinks he's healed then get up, and he did. He went on to preach 60+ yrs.
Charles and Frances Hunter could heal cancer by a prayer and there's Smith Wigglesworth who healed and raised the dead a few times. The list goes on of spectacular miracles going on. 'He sent His WORD and healed them', 'By His stripes we ARE healed'.
No offence, but I don't have a problem with faith healers. In fact anyone can do it 'Believers shall lay hands on the sick' and they will recover' Mk 16:18. God bless.

I Will Sing of Loving Kindness and Justice PSALM 101

1{A Psalm of David.} I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing.
2I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
3I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.
4A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.
5Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
6Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.
7He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.
8I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.

....................................................Psalm 101.........NLT

1 I will sing of your love and justice, LORD. I will praise you with songs.

2 I will be careful to live a blameless life—when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.

3 I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them.

4 I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil.

5 I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride.

6 I will search for faithful people to be my companions. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me.

7 I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence.

8 My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the LORD from their grip.

8 My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the LORD from their grip. (NLT)

8I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD (KJV)

16“Behold, I will send for many fishermen,” says the Lord, “and they shall fish them; and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.

From the Book of Jeremiah chapter 16 The 2nd half of this verse may go with the final verse of Psalm 101 as above
Verse 16 seems to have its' start when Yeshua was sent & provided a flesh & blood body. Yeshua referred to 'fishers' of men at that time. The passage also seems to indicate some time after the 2nd Advent and possibly 'hunters' being needed at that time. ????!!!???

Biblical exegesis is the actual interpretation of the sacred book, the bringing out of its meaning; hermeneutics is the study and establishment of the principles by which it is to be interpreted.

Jan 4, 2022 — Biblical hermeneutics is the branch of knowledge that deals with interpretation. The word most often refers to how to interpret the Bible

I don't like that hermeneutics is derived from the god hermes. The messenger......what kind of messenger?

Do Not Hide Your Face From Me ............................................PSALM 102..............KJV

1{A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out his complaint before the LORD.} Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.

2Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.

3For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.

4My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.

5By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.

6I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.

7I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.

8Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.

9For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,

10Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.

11My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.

12But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.

13Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

14For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.

15So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.

16When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.

17He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.

18This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.

19For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;

20To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;

21To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

22When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

23He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.

24I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.

25Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

26They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:

27But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

28The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.

…........................................................PSALM 102

Verse 18 …...Could this be prophecy of Christianies beginning with 1st Advent and possibly a double prophecy pointing also to 2nd Advent...Seems that commentaries agree in this.

Ellicott's commentary for english readers

Shall be created.—See Psalm 22:31, “a people that shall be born”—the coming generation (as the parallelism shows) for whom the world will be regenerated.

Keil and Delitzsch Biblical Commentary on the Old Testament

The poet goes on advancing motives to Jahve for the fulfilment of his desire, by holding up to Him what will take place when He shall have restored Zion. The evangel of God's redemptive deed will be written down for succeeding generations, and a new, created people, i.e., a people coming into existence, the church of the future, shall praise God the Redeemer for it. דּור אחרון as in Psalm 48:14; Psalm 78:4. עם נברא like עם נולד Psalm 22:32, perhaps with reference to deutero-Isaianic passages like Isaiah 43:17. On Psalm 102:20, cf. Isaiah 63:15; in Psalm 102:21 (cf. Isaiah 42:7; Isaiah 61:1) the deutero-Isaianic colouring is very evident. And Psalm 102:21 rests still more verbally upon Psalm 79:11. The people of the Exile are as it were in prison and chains (אסיר), and are advancing towards their destruction (בּני תמוּתה), if God does not interpose. Those who have returned home are the subject to לספּר. בּ in Psalm 102:23 introduces that which takes place simultaneously: with the release of Israel from servitude is united the conversion of the world. נקבּץ occurs in the same connection as in Isaiah 60:4. After having thus revelled in the glory of the time of redemption the poet comes back to himself and gives form to his prayer on his own behalf.

Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible

This shall be written for the generation to come,.... This prayer, as the Targum paraphrases it, is a directory to saints in distressed circumstances; or that which was just now said, that the Lord will regard, and not despise the prayer of the destitute; this shall stand on record, for the encouragement of praying souls in all generations; or this whole prophecy, concerning the glory of the church in the latter day; this shall be written for the next generation, and so on until it is accomplished, to keep up the faith and expectation of the fulfilment of it: and the people which shall be created: born at the time when all this shall be done; or who shall become new creatures; be created in Christ Jesus, and made new men;
these shall praise the Lord, when he shall arise and have mercy on Zion; when he shall favour and rebuild her, in answer to the prayers of his people; then their prayers will be turned into praise; then will those voices be heard among them, hallelujah, salvation, glory, honour, and power unto the Lord our God, Revelation 19:1.

Psalm 102....The Psalmist seems to be desperate and possibly toward end of life and anxiously fending off some threats. The Psalmist also seems to recognize the indiscretions which were committed during life has contributed to the present condition and all was part of a defined plan which is now apparent and reconciliation is the remedial necessary. The greatest part of this Psalm is the recognition of the 1st and 2nd Advents of the Savior. The Psalmist recognizes the coming of the Christ and the establishment of His Church and finally the gathering together of all peoples to the New Jerusalem.

As the carrier of messages between gods and mortals, Hermes had to be fluent in both of their
idioms. It was his task to build and maintain an interpretive bridge between alien worlds.
