Think about this. All of the people God has at His disposal to use are sinners, including you, myself, all of the prophets, disciples, and apostles before us.

Trinity Moment #4

(A little over 2 minutes)
that leads to so many questions, that video. Jesus said if you seen Him you saw the Father - if you see the Father you see Jesus. that is opposite of what Anderson just said. Jesus also said the Father dwelled inside Him doing the talking and works. so anyone talking to Jesus is theoretically talking to the Father according John 14:10.

the other 2 obvious questions are has anyone seen the Holy Spirit? how do you see a Spirit?
or, Jesus said God is Spirit. how do you see a Spirit?

like i said, i went to bed about 5 am just studying.

i definitely believe 3 in 1, but not so convinced any more there's a real difference between person and manifestation.
Those are fair questions Watcher.
The Bible doesn't have lies or contradictions. Nor does it fear investigation, so let's pray together on these questions you have and investigate the Word on these. I will need to get back to work shortly, but will post a couple more in case that is helpful until I get back later.

This should answer the Question,
"Is the term Persons Biblical, or is it just another way the Modalists prefer to call 'manifestations' (ie Furtick, Jakes, Unitarian Universalist, Jews...)?

awesome videos!

but it really doesn't clarify if God as ONE is sending persons or Manifestations. it does clarify manifestations or persons doing the Will of the Father. even the Holy Spirit is doing the Will of the Father.

what irritates me the most, when Jesus speaks, and we know it is the Father speaking from John 14:10, are we reading from the portion of Jesus that is flesh (to be our example) + reading the portion of Jesus that is God (which is the Father speaking)?

because some things Jesus says it is for us to imitate Him and other things He says is for us to connect directly with God.

ok, now i know why i am not getting it, the person thing.

Anderson is using the 1200 AD textus receptus.

i use what Jerome did in 350 AD, which is 900 years OLDER than the textus receptus.

the textus receptus uses PERSON, EXPRESS IMAGE OF HIS PERSON.

but the more original ancient Greek reads like this:
3 who, being the effulgence of his glory and the exact image of his substance, bearing onward also all things by the word of his power, when he had through himself made a cleansing of sins sat down at the right hand of the majesty on high,

Substance instead of person.

so Manifestation is more correct.

I agree with you Running man.
We have all sinned. I know I have far more times than I could ever recall. I'm a mere man in the similtude of our grandfather Adam. God however has never sinned.
Jesus the sinless Sacrifice paid for all of our sins. Although He created us in His image, He created us men, not Gods. You know that of course, but someone needs to remind the TV preachers who think they are God Almighty.

This comes from Word of Faith. Todd White, Steven Furtick, Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, Bill Johnson; all these guys teach that all the miracles Christ did He did as a man by the power of the Holy Spirit, not as God. They teach that Christ "emptied" Himself of His divinity when He was born a man. Therefore, we have all the authority and power to work miracles that He had by the power of the Holy Spirit. It's called the doctrine of identity or identification. Copeland and many others have said things similar to what Furtick said. That we're little gods for example.

The amusing thing however is all these "little gods" go around making great boasts but never seem to make any of them reality.

Todd White Recently Repented Of Preaching A False Gospel For His Entire Ministry Of 16 Years.
2020

Thank you for posting this Blues.
I was listening to this for his definition of the gospel. He kept bringing up the term, but he eventually at 7:10 In said "...and if you give your life to Christ, you can do it to .."
is his misunderstanding of man's response to the Savior's sacrifice. He has the exact 180° opposite teaching of what we must do to be saved.

Acts 16:30
"Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
Give your life to Christ and try not to offend the Holy God?
No, that's not what the apostles replied to the jailor.
"And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."

You know this is wrong, but Todd White is telling his people that THEY must Give THEIR LIVES to be saved, then turn over a new leaf or whatever he keeps going on and on about.
We know that Jesus gave His life and as it says a hundred times in one gospel alone our only response is to believe on Him to receive the gift of eternal life.

The guy still isn't saved regardless of his his hair style. 😄

Agreed. Everytime I see him I think what a blessing a sheep shearing electric razor would be to his head.😄

He was a strong atheist before he found his current scheme. Imo, he's still an atheist. That's why he can't teach the gospel truth.

Sad his congregants that make him rich can't see that. But that's all God too.

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Matthew 7

I appreciate that because it's something I missed over the years. I've known plenty of Word of Faith folks through school, christian singles ministries, and community, but missed learning that about their beliefs. I listened to the Trinity Moments #8 I think it was, and what you and Anderson says agrees. Had no idea that they thought He emptied Himself of divinity during His time on earth. Since we are talking about it, I'll post this one for you. It's a little longer, but I see the Brandomite teaching in some Baptist/evangelical preachers now that we are discussing it. Anderson even discovered this in his own church. One staff member he fired and another who pretended to be of like faith.

Wow! An atheist. That reminds me of the guy who's know for making his followers drink poisoned Kool aid. You've probably heard of Jim Jones, right? Did you know that he was an atheist?

the thinking of Jesus emptying Himself is very Biblical.

Philippians 2:
5 For let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,

6 who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God,

7 [[((but he emptied himself))]], taking the form of a servant, having been born in the likeness of men; and found in fashion as a man,

maybe this is why John 14:10 is so profound: [Father dwells inside me DOING THE TALKING AND WORKS]

I did not know this was going to be a post on the Trinity. There are many things of the Eternal God that can not be fully known by anyone today. With God who is Infinite and we being finite, it is prideful to think we could ever know all there is to know of God outside of the three ways Ordained by God for us to know HIM.

1. General revelation = by what God crated i.e, Creation
2. Special revelation = His word
3. By Illumination - His Sprit through a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

The word Trinity is not in the word of God. However, it is a theological concept that I believe is supported by the word of God.
Even with the Trinity seen in the word of God, we are still limited in all we can know.

Therefore, we must approach The Eternal Godhead: Humbly, Reverently, and scripturally.

Human reasoning fails on all accounts. Many profane(make common) the living God by trying to simplify The Eternal Godhead for the human mind to understand.

The Holy Eternal Godhead has been compared to water, ice, and steam. And egg, yolk, and shell. Etc...

Man's intellectual attempts to explain All God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are? Impossible.

Yet division and pride cause both sides to profane the Living God. Paul said in 1cor 13:12

12 For now, we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

Job did not know God to the point he could answer God when HE questioned him, Moses asked Who do I say is sending me? Joshua did not know the Commander of the Lord's Host, and The Disciples did not recognize Jesus after the resurrection until he spoke to them.

Do we think our theological terms impress the Eternal Godhead? We argue over the words manifest and persons from a position of limitation. LOL.

I think the argument over manifestation existed before this thread when Furtick chose to use that specific term. He decided to use that term for a specific reason that I think the video publisher was correct about, looking at context. He sounds like he's teaching modalist dogma to me. It surprised me as his affiliation is Southern Baptist if sources are correct.

I can't say that I have any perfect illustrations or analogies for God and explaining His three person's. I do choose to believe His Word and accept what is written by faith. There are many statements that refer to God as the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. However, I find only a couple that are commonly used as arguments against the overwhelming number for the Trinity. However, I care as much about my modalist/ oneness/ Jesus only Apostolic neighbors as my Trinitarian neighbors.

Nobody started the thread intending to go into a rabbit trail of Trinity teachings, but it is more important than the OP about Furtick or the side note on White. Not intending to make oneness Pentecostals upset, I hope we can understand each other better. If anything they may want to listen and read to be informed of other beliefs within Christianity.
If it helps inform and edify believers and unbelievers to further understand God better, then the thread is of good value.

I am sure the argument has been before this thread. Personally, I think some in the video give Furtick too much credit. Master of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Clearly, he has chosen to make these outlandish statements from a position of 1. deliberately 2. the unlearned of those in the pews.

As I said, the only opinion that matters is the word of God which the word Trinty is not there.

In context to the preachers named, I think it is they do no justice to the word of God for or against the two concepts.

Modelism, which came from Sabellius, is wrong because he used human reasoning to explain the Etetnal Godhead.

Trinity is speaking of the Persfication of the Eternal Godhead. Sabellius's different modes of God, which I think, and could be wrong, should not have used the term "Modes or Modelistic in nature in context to The Lving God.

A relationship is what we see when Christ explains the Father and The Father speaks of the Son and Son speaks of the Holy Spirit.

The point I am making, as I said in my post, is Error happens and profaning the Living God by those who think they can speak of the Eternal Godhead from an all-knowing position. That is what I would have told Furtick if The Lord led me to correct him. I would have asked him, Where do you think you have the liberty to speak of the living God in such away from such limited position that you have?
