How should we judge gay marriage?

  • Should the subject go back to the state?

  • Should it be outlawed nationwide?

  • Should it be legal as a human right?

Not debating your and only your opinion. Just jumping off on the idea of leaving a civil right up to the states.

Imagine. If the question of citizen equality were left to the states.....
Slavery would be legal in some states, illegal in others.
Interracial marriage, women's right to vote.

Well, in the matter of slavery it would have to first be decided if blacks qualify as human. State by state.

This is a non sequitor. Civil rights are enumerated in the constitution. Slavery was a violation pf that document and it took a war to enforce it.

Civil rights protections are not delegated to the states. They are well established with in the Fed for protection.

I would like to suggest you begin a study about slavery. And then move on after that to the start of slavery in the Colonies. [America.]

It wil l take quite a bit of time however, if you keep at it you'll know all about the practice. And in particular you will know about slavery as it existed on America.

I wish you the best. 😊

Already done.
Sure slavery was before the constitution. However once the constitution was ratified slavery was a stark violation of the document .

As I said, if you study you will know the topic being discussed.
I'm not sure you know what the subject is.
Marriage was never the estate of the state. It was a authoritarian over reach for them to take authority over marriage. It happened in the early 1900s. If you understood the two estates then you would understand what I am saying.
Civil rights enumerated in the constitution are not rights granted by govco but established as natural rights not to be violated by ... Slavery as it was in the Americas has always been a violation of natural rights.
Govco interjection into marriage is also a violation.
