Yes because that's what it means. The major religions should press the point and have them stop trying to change it's meaning and symbolism.

I dont know when marriage became the estate of the state. It was always the estate of God, delegated to the family. The state usurping God has caused these problems, from the dissolution of the family to sodomites seeking justification in the state.

I guess I am missing your point. I never said church. I said marriage is the estate of God, and he delegated it to the family.
As far as church and state goes. I'm very sure they were educated and had read Luther about the 2 kingdoms, and were making some attempt to that end. Although they failed miserably.

I think were getting so engrossed in this that were missing something very important. Thermos is a company that makes a product that keeps things hot or cold but everyone calls a thermos "a thermos" regardless of the brand,(gott tote,igloo,Thermos coleman ect.) who all make similar products. People say their going to drink a coke all the time but stop at a store and come out with a Dr.Pepper,a Pepsi,root-beer ect. these companies have had to fight hard in court to keep their brand names from being taken away from them by usage.

Which leads me to my point in that were so focused on debating for or against homosexuality and marriage that their community is stealing a Jewish,Christian ect. symbol right from under our noses,,, the Rainbow. What is the oldest known document stating or showing it's symbolism,usage image ect. ? Of course it's not. The community of Sodom adopted the rainbow expressly to flaunt that OT account of Sodom and Gomorrahs destruction due to their immorality, which included homosexuality, by raising the rainbow God placed in the sky after the deluge that wiped sin from the world.

Basically the purpose of the rainbow being stolen to become the flag of Sodomites is to mock God's wiping their particular sin off the face of the earth with the flood. Because the Bible tells us God placed the in the sky to show he would never vanquish sin,sinners, that way again.

Gays rallying behind the rainbow is intentional purposeful mockery of God. ''We're here, we're queer!''

Meaning that Marriages are the sole purview of state control.

Any law that Congress manufactures concerning marriage is unconstitutional.

States hold that power exclusively and individually.
Meaning that if a biological brother and sister are granted a marriage license in New Jersey they cannot expect to be legally married in Tennessee....because that state outlaws such Marriages.

However a normal couple who are married in Tennessee are still married in New Jersey.
The Federal Government cannot intercede in such matters. It can't force TN to recognize the NJ marriage.

The only way we can make illegal in all 50 states LGBT marriage and all marriages outside of the Biblical marriage is by Amendment voted on by state legislatures.

I believe marriage as Biblically defined should be protected as an amendment but also saying that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of marriage outside of the one permitted In this amendment.

This would make it a national thing.

How should we judge gay marriage? Well, it's insane if you ask me. However, we have to ask: Which has more eternal value, taking back the country or taking back the church? What is our priority as Christians?

But for whatever reason they seem to think that God only had one bow in his arsenal....

God has a HUGE arsenal full of weapons. One got hung up....big deal....He has plenty more.

As a Christian, I am too busy being focused on my own salvation to know what anyone else should be doing with their lives. That is between God and the other people, and affects me none.

Slavery would be legal in some states, illegal in others.
Interracial marriage, women's right to vote.

Well, in the matter of slavery it would have to first be decided if blacks qualify as human. State by state.
