Proverbs 28:20
A ·truthful [reliable] person will have many blessings, but those ·eager to get rich [or with get-rich-quick schemes] will be punished.
How you got "WOF" at all in this says something. So the simple answer is no. Yet we can all apple it to our self. I have over time been eager to be rich. Context here is left out.. its about so much more. Not talking about today some Christian group some don't agree with that preach on prosperity which is fully written promised by the Father of our lord Jesus Christ.

The promise is GOOD, I challenge you to deny it is in the gospel "Nobody has given up anything for the gospel but he shall receive an 1OO FOLD IN THIS AGE and in the next eternal life.
.
I'm not claiming I've achieved Jesus level of holiness. And other than making fun of the idea of carrying a Golden Cross by choice, I've not attacked you. As for bragging of battles, well, if I did any good in anything that earned me a scar, may it save souls to the Glory of God, from the work of Jesus in me.
John 4:31-38 ESV Meanwhile the disciples were urging him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.” But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.”
Matthew 6:19-20 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. “But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal. "
Luke 12 4-7 “I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Luke 12 13-20 13 Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

14 Jesus replied, “Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?” 15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”

16 And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. 17 He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’
18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. 19 And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’
20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

21 “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”

2 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life[b]? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

27 “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! 29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

Understand the cross.

Whatever Jesus suffered on the cross He suffered so that we don't have to.
That's not what Jesus says there, or is saying there. He says, specifically, if anyone would come after him, they MUST take up THEIR (own) cross. Now maybe we don't die on it, maybe we just carry a heavy beam the rest of our lives. Or maybe that beam is feather-weight, and the world gets to see that we're given light burden of a death with Jesus without straining, for Jesus's sake. Like we have a choice between carrying the sins of the world, or the cross of Jesus, but not both. Dunno how to compare that to Jesus telling us his yoke was easy.
But the prosperity that is from Jesus is only wealth where God wants you to be using that for him. That doesn't imply you musn't be successful. If you have found a way to stay free and have earthly wealth, then praise God for that, and carry on. But maybe it's just that I'm too greedy to take such a gift without relying on it, and so I have to leave it. Better to chop off my hand, than burn in hell? Better to be poor and suffer, than burn in hell.

in that song version he sure sounds a lot like kid rock. but excellent song and message!
Kid Rock was in diapers when this was recorded. Glen Kaiser was the lead singer of The Resurrection Band. This song is from an album Glen recorded with Darrell Mansfield called, "Trimmed And Burnin'." Apple has it dated 2002 but I first heard it in 1990. It's a good album.
Back then, church music hadn't gone through it's revolution yet.

Loving money is idolatry. We are to love God and put Him first in our hearts.
Prosperity can be a bad thing. But so can poverty.
"…8Keep falsehood and deceitful words far from me. Give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the bread that is my portion. 9Otherwise, I may have too much and deny You, saying, ‘Who is the LORD?’ Or I may become poor and steal, profaning the name of my God." - Proverbs 30: 8,9 BSB
How Impoverished can a Christian be ? They are inheriting eternity

Our financial state has no impact for some folks they have alot and they do a lot of good with what they have been given. If we have with it comes responsibility to be a good steward with worldly things and serve God with our means rather than Satan . We serve Gods Will by helping others especially those in need , of our selves in his name and sharing the gospel with them.

If we have alot we need to need the warnings

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:17-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God wants us to have enough but it’s not Gods Will that one is rich in Christ and the other is poor in him and doesn’t have enough . brotherly love is meant to provide for the many the ones with more than enough helping the ones with not enough is the design

“Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:41-47‬ ‭KJV‬‬

within the church the ones with a lot should be willing and quick to share with those they see in need. And the ones with not enough should examine thier lives and see if they are able to work if they can’t they should be considered by the ones wi to a lot stored up

the world has since crept into the church now we Christian’s think God wants us personally to have a huge bank account d of think th r person does t they must not have any faith but it’s not our responsibility to feed the hungry , clothe the naked , share our plenty with those in lack

God now days “ wants us to have the best car , the best suit , the new boat and second vacation home he wants us to have huge amounts stored up so we can feel secure “ ect

none of that is true though Christian’s have a mandate on this earth to love others In His name especially those left out , overlooked , cast aside , those fallen and can’t get up , the needy and poor the lame the helpless

our place is to live them like Jesus does and give of our self in tbat move I. Our actions in deed and truth including feeding the hungry , clothing the naked , helping the stranger, giving drink to the thirsty , In Other words helping others people with thier daily needs is why we have plenty on Christ if we have we so are called to give and share and help and do good with it in his name

I Know well off people who do so much good quietly for others d unknown others well off who see the needy and say “they need to get a job “ and won’t lift a finger or offer a dollar to help them

there’s a difference in those two Christian’s One is authentic and operating in Gods love

“But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.”
‭‭
how can we be blessed with plenty and see another with less than they need and not help ? How can we the. Claim we are walking In gods love ?

Our actions tell the truth with money and possessions it comes down to whether we’re selfish or whether we’re generous to others especially those in need as the lord was when we were in need for salvation and we were the poor in spirit

he acted because of love and so are we to give of our own selves our own means. When we’re able ( can’t give if we don’t have it ) if we have enough to share we need to actually look at all the need around us in tbe world and start being the salt of the earth that changes the things in his name

a hungry person well fed in Jesus name is pleasing to God a thirsty man who is given a drink in Jesus name , a person dressed in rags given good clothes in Jesus name is pleasing to God . And people will listen more about Jesus love for them if hey are his disciples actually helping people

we do have a mission in the world that leads into the kingdom of God , Jesus our lord said

“When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: and before him shall be gathered all nations:

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for

I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25:31-32, 34-40‬

we have a duty to help others who really need help when we’re able to , not just money but we all have something that helps people even if it’s just a friend to listen and care spend some time around someone love is always evident in how we treat other people as Christian’s even our finances are for the good of our family at home yes but also our brothers and sister in Christ to help those needs sometimes

money can corrupt but also be a tool for a lot of good what matters is the heart of the person a good person is going to bring forth good with thier lives and tbier means and others will bring forth selfish thkngs and fall into temptations because of money

it’s in the heart with most things

money isnt good or bad , food not good or bad , but we can be gluttons and too
Much food too much I healthy eating and it’s bad

we can have money and it can be a blessing and we can do a lot of good , but if it makes us greedy for more and makes us think highly of ourselves like it does many or leads to temptation and addiction as many or gambling as others ect it’s bad also if we act in vanity it just defiles things

nothin g is really good or bad it’s how the person uses most things we do good and evil with money. Some buy drugs and prostitutes and pornography and do
Many bad thkngs with money others take care of themselves and family share and help others do good whenever they have an opportunity as they go in life

it’s always what is inside us that’s gonna be what comes out money is used for good and evil but itself is neutral

But maybe it's just that I'm too greedy to take such a gift without relying on it, and so I have to leave it. Better to chop off my hand, than burn in hell? Better to be poor and suffer, than burn in hell.
You are saved I'm sure of that. You will not burn in hell. I am certain that you serve the Lord and your community and beyond to the best you can.

I don't say there is not a snare in earthly wealth. But there is a snare in any and all of God's blessings and gifts. Will you reject the ability God gives you to witness for Him in case you become proud? it really is the same thing.

Paul beseeches us, begs us, implores for us to present our very selves as living sacrifices, not being conformed to the fashion of this world but to be transformed ...

.... by the renewing of our minds

THAT'S what is so difficult to do, not just change a few ideas and opinions but change the very way we think.

How do you read scripture?

"I am the door of the sheep ... if anyone enters in by Me he shall be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy, I am come that they might have life abundantly, I am the Good Shepherd"

You must SURELY see psalm 23 here.

"The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want, He makes me lie down in green pastures
He leads me beside still waters
He restores my soul and leads in the paths of righteousness for His name sake

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I fear no evil for Thou art with me, Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies
Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup over flows.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

All these truths have spiritual application YES we have the spiritual application. But they have natural application too.

I'll tell ya something, if you rebuff the natural applications you will probably end up in a great deal of spiritual trouble too. It is not easy to be dog poor and be a christian among dog poor people ... I been there bro I know what I'm talking. It's easy to be a christian in church. It's tough as H in the factory or in high school.

I've been in those places and I witnessed the Lord in those places. It is tough. The only way you will survive and make a go of it is if you KNOW you can move on at a moments notice and the Lord will provide ... that's the only way. You have to be CERTAIN that the promise will not fail.

I know what it like to be poor. But I've always known God's promise to provide and that He will never fail. That's the treasure that is in Heaven where moth does not rust and thieves do not break in and steal. I could tell you stories that would make your hair stand on end.

And I know how to prosper and be in abundance.

But if you want to know what God's PERFECT will is you'll find it in scripture. The Lord is our Shepherd we shall not want.

I once was playing them on the radio in the barracks and some stoners came to my door. I had the time to take names and witness to them. I was in the USAF and in charge of the 1,000 man dorm building.

I will say, God has the right to give you comforts, though it may be argued that even those are for his glory.
Zechariah 10:6
I will make Judah’s family strong. I will help Joseph’s family win the war. I will bring them back safely and comfort them. It will be as if I never left them. I am the Lord their God, and I will help them.

Matthew 5:4
Great blessings belong to those who are sad now. God will comfort them.

Luke 16:25
“But Abraham said, ‘My child, remember when you lived? You had all the good things in life. But Lazarus had nothing but problems. Now he is comforted here, and you are suffering.

Romans 12:8
Whoever has the gift of comforting others should do that. Whoever has the gift of giving to help others should give generously. Whoever has the gift of leading should work hard at it. Whoever has the gift of showing kindness to others should do it gladly.

2 Corinthians 1:3
Paul Gives Thanks to God
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Father who is full of mercy, the God of all comfort.

My uncle shot down night bombers over London with his Spitfire during the second world war. He had to bail out twice!
Trump had the world going in the right direction. The WEF and UN are doing Satan's work, I'm afraid. I hate what's happening to our countries. We're being destroyed from within. We need the Lord to move like never before!
He's done it before...He'll do it again! I don't believe it's time for the antichrist yet!

One of the key teachings of Word Faith is the desire to be rich. They teach that prosperity and health were automatically included in the Lord's death. It's based on a misinterpretation of Isaiah 53:5:

"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed."

It's very clear that this passage is talking about spiritual healing, not physical healing or material wealth. In fact we are promised tribulation and persecution if we follow Him, not material abundance and perfect health.

"But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution." 2 Timothy 3:10-12

"Then Jesus said to His disciples, 'If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?' " Matthew 16:24-26

"If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself." 1 Timothy 6:3-5

"I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich);" Revelation 2:9 Apparently the church at Smyrna didn't get the prosperity gospel memo.

I could go on and on all day, but I think you get the point.

Proverbs 28:20
A ·truthful [reliable] person will have many blessings, but those ·eager to get rich [or with get-rich-quick schemes] will be punished.

Pro 28:20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

I do not agree with your translation as it says nothing of what I read.
