Matthew 6
19Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

"Give and it shall be given you again, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over shall men give into your bosom"

Jesus was a prosperity teacher.
21 From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised. 22 And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord![e] This shall never happen to you.” 23
But he turned and said to Peter,
“Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance[f] to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”

24 Then Jesus told his disciples,
“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life[g] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.

Jesus never became poor spiritually did He? so he is speaking about material wealth here.
So close.
Deut. 21
22 “And if a man has committed a crime punishable by death and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree, 23 his body shall not remain all night on the tree, but you shall bury him the same day, for a hanged man is cursed by God. You shall not defile your land that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance. "

thanks so far, I agree it does not apply to everyone who is WOF.
there’s a real word of faith but it’s about what God said and not what we want lol

we can manifest the thkngs God wants for us like repentance and growth in obedience to the gospel we can change from sinners to children of God by faith

but when the flesh gets ahold of a spiritual message it gets distorted so the word of faith doctrine is all about manifesting the lusts of our flesh so we can live in pleasure and comfort never concerning ourselves with sharing Gods blessings with the poor and being generous to all but it’s all about getting rich seeing financial seeds lol it’s coming from here not acknolwedgong this

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof:

but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:15-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

instead the word of our faith needs to be this so our faith is made right And our worldly desires are made into desires for the kingdom of God

If this makes our faith

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

understanding specifically this is referencing Jesus word this word

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Those are the real thkngs we’re supposed to crave no condemnation on our everlasting soul , life beyond this world

An escape from the death we all face ahead of us

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:51‬ ‭KJV‬‬

freedom from sins dominion

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32‬ ‭

Everlasting salvation from the worlds destruction

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the gospel is this word

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:35‬ ‭KJV‬‬

if we let the gospel be our word of faith shape what we believe about Jesus and salvation it is of God and will last but he doesn’t teach worldly finances and how to become rich and greedy while avoiding what he instructed us to do he teaches us to give of ourselves to those who need help money , time , compassion in general whatever we do have to give

that’s not popular in the world but the gospel isn’t. Because it’s about self sacrifice and helping others and about being rewarded after we leave this world. But still taken care of while we’re here it’s about the thkngs we heard from Jesus but can’t see yet our rewards are heavenly

The gospel will never fail but Jesus doesn’t teach us to get rich in his word he teaches us to share generously with the needy

Jesus doesn’t teach us to store up riches and wealth and grow our bank accounts for security he teaches us not to trust in and love money not to want to get rich

if we make Jesus word this word our faith then we can understand real word of faith that redeems the soul d has nothing to do so th worldly things like money if we only realized where our blessings are waiting we would look there for Hope rather than worldly things like money and greed and lust and vanity

I agree with your post just wanted to say there is a word of faith that saves souls it doesn’t grow out bank account ya per day unless God has a purpose and will for it but it changes our desires to what Jesus said because no money can buy eternal
Life but Jesus gives it away for free

2nd Cor 9:
6 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully.
7 Let each one give as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion—for God loves a cheerful giver.

wonder what these Verses fall under

Perhaps "Encouraging People Not To Be Stingy?"
There’s a clear message a warning this is about how we feel about money , ( not whether we have it or not ) what we do with it are we selfish ? Do we help others at all ? how much money and possession really matter To us is wealth what we always seek and strive for ? Is it nite important than our Brothers need when we become aware of it ? does money fill out thoughts and has it become our goal ?

are we not content with having enough ? Ect so a lesson like this is a good summary so this is what we should think about the subject

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:6-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

to love money think about it most desire it Keats be looking how to get it ect has a way of becoming like an idol we’re worshipping if it’s what fills the heart we need to find the gospel

And yet dearest brother Oyster they did become rich and famous, who has not heard of Peter James and John? who has not heard how the people sold their properties and brought the proceeds and laid them at the feet of the apostles.

Poor Paul and Barnabas

They suffered deprivation, hunger and nakedness while Peter and the others would go on preaching tours with their wives ... because they chose to. There is godly prosperity and there is worldly prosperity. And there is a mindset that goes with each kind. Peter recognised godly prosperity and correct thinking while Paul totally rejected worldly prosperity and went out of his way to discourage the idea that God could be bought or any of His blessings could be paid for. But Paul did not mind receiving money from the churches.

It's that narrowest of lines which we tread. Nothing so tests our hearts than the matter of wealth. The answer is to follow hard after God and leave Him to follow after us with His blessings, Believe it is His will that we should prosper and be in good health even as our souls prosper.

Paul sought to bless and enrich others.

If everyone followed his teaching in Corinthians regarding giving we would all certainly prosper in measure, he that gave little received little but he who gave much received much for God is able to make His blessings leap towards us.

Let all India know that the route to godly prosperity is cheerful giving.

The problem with WOF preaching is their theology, everything starts with us for them instead of waiting upon the Lord. They think to force God to do things. In the matter of salvation they are to told to confess to be saved by standing forward etc even if no saving work has been done, In the matter of healing they are taught to jump up and down even though no healing has yet taken place and in the matter of prosperity they are taught they must first give extravagantly in order to receive God's plenty.

It is God's will to do those things, but He will not be co - ersed or blackmailed or bullied or heckled into doing it. He will do it in His own way.

Peace good Oyster.
Wow.
I usually read your posts with interest, but not this time.
The money wasn't given to the Apostles to prosper them, but to scatter equally to the church to those in need.
Jesus, an example that we should follow in His steps, didn't have a place of His own to lay His head.
The prosperity gospel is a perverted gospel that leaves it's hearers spiritually empty & full of themselves.

Yes God wants ALL His people to have abundance for their own needs and some left over for every good work, of COURSE Peter and John did not consider the wealth as their own. I am not speaking in favour of anybody. Many of those scriptures they use to promote the prosperity doctrine are mis-applied if they are made to apply to individuals, they are promises that apply to the church as a body.

Money and wealth are for our material needs which God does promise to not only provide but to provide ABUNDANTLY [does God provide any other way?]

What about all those assurances that God who feeds the sparrow will much more feed us. that God who clothes the lily will clothe us more gloriously than Solomon?

But it's FREE, like everything God does it does it for FREE.

God hates with perfect hatred that any should think they can come to Him with money in their hand or that He can be bribed.

Many a preacher needs to re-visit the story of Naaman and Elisha and Elisha's servant, this is not the time for God's servants to be thinking of lands and properties and servants and maid servants.

Do you see the narrow line we have to walk ... there is a snare in prosperity.

... oh yes, you are an old soldier, limping in with your war wounds. You talk about losing your life ... hey when are you gunna start talking about finding it?

I didn't HAVE the whole world, nor did I want the whole world, nor do I now want the whole world

I want the whole world for Jesus, not in terms of silver and gold or lands or properties, He already is Lord over all that, but in terms of the souls and hearts of men and women. It's easier for poor people to turn to Christ, they have nothing to lose.

Rich Americans [Europeans] are afraid He might ask them to give their money for the gospel.

The promise is GOOD, I challenge you to deny it is in the gospel "Nobody has given up anything for the gospel but he shall receive an 1OO FOLD IN THIS AGE and in the next eternal life.

Seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness and ALL the things the heathens seek shall be added to you

Tell the truth brother Jesus is a prosperity preacher.

If He has any other plan for you that involves loss or hardship He will tell you, like He told Paul.

Understand the cross.

Whatever Jesus suffered on the cross He suffered so that we don't have to.

He suffered the just punishment for our sins, that is every woe which ever came upon our race. It includes all sickness and disease and all sorrow and all poverty.

The cross offers full deliverance to everyone who believes.

Our cross, Paul's cross will also be in order to bring blessings to the people we minister to.
