As you folks know, the Bible is full of juxtaposition. Sometimes it helps to look at opposing themes to get a better understanding.

Thus, in order to discover what the Forbidden Fruit is, we can look at its opposite, the Fruit of the Tree of Life...

Revelation 22:2
"In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations."

We see that the Tree of Life is a 'Her'. She has Fruit. She bares a different Fruit each month.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? A woman bearing a new Fruit on a monthly cycle?

What do you suppose that Fruit is? Remember, said Fruit is produced on a monthly period.
Sheesh, I thought I'd heard every wacky interpretation possible. I've just added a new one to my "you have to be kidding" list.

Fun fact...

Adam and his Wife had no reproductive organs before the Fall. Reproductive organs were meant for the Animal Kingdom so that they could 'be fruitful and multiply'.

The Forbidden Fruit changed that.
Far from being a "fun fact", this is egregious heresy.

We read:

Genesis chapter 1

[26] And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
[27] So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
[28] And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
[29] And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
[30] And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
[31] And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

PRIOR TO "the Fall", God blessed Adam and Eve while telling them to "Be fruitful, and multiply".

How in the world could they have done the same without reproductive organs which you claim came later?

It's heretical nonsense.

Psst... the word is "naïve"
Can't slip anything by you :sneaky:
...the spell checker made me do it because I don't know how to put the umlaut, also known as diaeresis, on the "i." However, I've since located a 'how to" tutorial for later reference. :p

They were commanded to reproduce before the fall.

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Genesis 1:27a

I'm not gonna marvel at how dumb this is... I'm not. No. No marvelling.
There's whole websites devoted to such drivel

Babylon is a metaphor for false religion. She isn't a real person nor drank any blood.
True but it was and is a place and was a kingdom.

True but it was and is a place and was a kingdom.

The Babylon of the past or current place is not what Babylon is in Revelation.

Rev 17:7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

There we go. We are about to be told all the mysteries.

Rev 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
Rev 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

We also will be told she sits on waters, which are people. The mountains are great nations which of course are made up of people.

Rev 17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
Rev 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
Rev 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
Rev 17:13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
Rev 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
Rev 17:15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

And that is key to understanding what "form" this symbolic women called Babylon (confusion) takes. It is confusion in people, a religious confusion.

Rev 17:16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
Rev 17:17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
Rev 17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

A symbolic city. It is better to understand it as this "confusion" in people creates a large type of a group, all believing in the same false religion. In a figurative sense they form a great group or city. All marked somehow, all worshiping the antichrist, the whole world united as one aside from a small group of resisters. It is similar how new Jerusalem, a city, is said to be the bride of Christ but other scripture states Christians are the bride of Christ. Thus, a group of people can be symbolized by a city.

Yes.

Rev 17:1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:

Rev 17:15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

Babylon is religious confusion, sitting upon the peoples of the world.

Eve and Serpent sex scandal? That's a new one I've never heard. The only alternative story I'm familiar with is Lilith, the real first woman and the first feminist. This is a typical liberal feminist version and it's quite fun: God originally formed both Adam and Lilith from the ground and breathed life into them, put both in the Garden. Adam saw the animals mating and attempted to try it with Lilith, but Lilith refused to consent. They had a fight which intensified, and eventually she fled from Eden. God sent an angel to try to bring her back like later he sent an angel to bring Hagar and Ishmael back, but the angel found her at the Red Sea possessed by Satan and giving birth to unclean spirit. At that point, God took a part of Adam and made a new partner out of it for him, and Lilith was enraged at that. She sneaked back to Eden and seduced Eve as the serpent. Then came the harsh punishment - enmity between Eve's seed and her seed, and Eve's seed will crush the head of her seed. Because of that, she hated humanity, and she had an exceptional hatred for children. Of course, none of these is biblical, it's just Talmudic legend.

I suspected you knew how to spell it. I had to copy-paste from another site, so I understand the difficulty. :)

A friend of mine did a painting of Lilith. It was part owl, part demon, and part woman. Some translations have her named, in Isaiah 34:14; NRSV, Amplified, Darby, NAB, ISB: And desert creatures will meet with hyenas, and goat-demons will call out to each other. There also Liliths will settle, and find for themselves a resting place. I was aware of the first and last parts of what you shared, but not the middle part. Many years ago I attended Sarah McLachlan's Lilith Concert, and there were Christians protesting on the basis of its name in relation to abortion.

Did someone make that whole thing up?

Or is it in one of the apocryphal books?

It's Midrash.

Mid·rash
[ˈmidˌräSH]

NOUN
an ancient commentary on part of the Hebrew scriptures, attached to the biblical text. The
earliest Midrashim come from the 2nd century A.D., although much of their content is older.

It's mostly a myth from the Talmud. There's a possible mention of her in Isaiah 34:14-15:

The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the jackals, And the wild goat shall bleat to its companion; Also the night creature shall rest there, And find for herself a place of rest. There the arrow snake shall make her nest and lay eggs And hatch, and gather them under her shadow; There also shall the hawks be gathered, Every one with her mate.

It is possible that such a she-devil did exist. After all, in Gen 1:26-28, "male and female he created them." If that "female" was Eve, then everything in Gen 2 must be compacted in a very short period of day, so the creation of both Adam and Eve can be finished in Day 6. If that was Lilith, though, it would make more sense. Also, somehow the serpent can have "offsprings" like Eve, what was that about? There is an infamous whore of Babylon the Mystery symbolizing the mother of all false religions, and Lilith could be the origin of that.
