Did Jesus died on Good Friday and rise Sunday, first day of the week?

Are you saying the women bought the spices and prepared them on the same day Jesus was crucified?

Here again is what the text actually states.

I read it. I agree that you don't eat leavened bread on Passover. That doesn't make Passover the first day of Unleavened bread.

Now you can read in Leviticus 23:

23 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings.

4 These are the feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's passover.

6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

They bought those on preparation day, and they bRought those to the tomb on sunday. If they hadn't prepared in advance, what would they have to bring? There was no business on Sabbath.

Yeah, the very same day Jesus was buried. This was written in all four gospels (Matt. 27:62, Mk. 15:42, Lk. 23:54, J. 19:42), how could you miss that? That preparation was the preparation FOR the upcoming sabbath. What's the point for preparation if sabbath were yesterday that had already passed?

Yet, the bible tells us they bought the spices after the Sabbath. How do you reconcile?

The only reconciliation is to have a preparation day in between the two Sabbaths.

Crucifixion on Wednesday...a day of preparation.
Thursday an annual high sabbath.
Friday a preparation day when the women buy and prepare spices.
Saturday the weekly sabbath.
Sunday the women come to the tomb with the spices to find it empty.

Three days and three nights. No partial days.

That doesn't work, man. That would delay the resurrection to the fourth day. Go check out the bickering above. They HAD bought spices, which means at that time it was already done before. The context in Mark 16 was sunday, not another day. The gospel is crystal clear about the timing, I don't know why you guys are muddying the water.

was hanging on the cross count as one of the three nights predicted by
Matt 12:40

However, Matt 12:40 requires that Jesus be in the heart for three nights
rather than only two.

* Jesus' crucified dead body wasn't laid to rest in the heart of the earth,
rather, on the surface in a rock-hewn tomb. So then, the only way Jesus
could be in the heart of the earth while simultaneously on the surface was
for the man and his body to part company and go their separate ways.

It was essential that some part of Jesus' human existence be allowed to
survive his death because if every part of him that went into making Jesus a
sentient being were to be destroyed on the cross, then God would have to
first create the man back into existence before proceeding to restore his
crucified dead body to life.

According to Matt 10:28 the human body can be killed by most any means,
but the soul can only be killed by the hand of God; which tells me that when
the Romans crucified Jesus, his soul survived.

I'm content to believe that it was by means of Jesus' soul that he was confined
in the heart of the earth during the time his body was interred in a tomb up on
the surface.

That’s why Thursday makes most sense if you count a night from sundown to sunrise by biblical definition - Thursday to Friday, Friday to Saturday, Saturday to Sunday; right after the third night, Jesus rose on the third DAY. This timing is very important if you believe in the millennial-day theory, that Jesus will return after 2000 years and establish his millennial kingdom on the third DAY, the 7th and final millennium. The timing of His earthly resurrection must perfectly correspond to the timing of His return, which would be the first day of the millennium.

And if you believe that a small part of a day could be considered a full day...Is there biblical evidence?

Hence, the 490 years must be consecutive years and applicable only to the nation of Israel. I do not think it would be wise, to attempt to apply the remaining week to any events outside of Israel. The whole Bible applies to the nation of Israel and then the stranger. You have been bless with the prophecy of Daniel pretty much full break down. Now it's always more to learn and to understand concerning this, but for the most part this is it.

Amen to that!
To show a little further how the Farsi Priests had the calendar wrong, check this out:

Mark 14:12 King James Version (KJV) 12 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?
 
The true, Biblical calendar is 364 days. 52 weeks of 7 days. 2 months of 30 days followed by one month of 31 days.
That means that the Passover not only falls of the 14th of Abib (not the Babylonian Nissan) but it is always on our Tuesday.
The books of Enoch and Jubilees attest to it. They were used as canon by the exiled Sons of Zadoch, the legitimate Levite priests (by their own self-identification). In Jesus' time they were located at Bethabara (Hebrew= Betharaba) (Arabic = Qumran). This is the Northern point of the Judean wilderness and, if one is in Galilee, it is located "beyond the Jordan (valley)".

Yes, see my post #269 - “Lev. 23:16 - "Count FIFTY DAYS to the day after the seventh sabbath;" The 50th day is the Pentecost, not the 51st.
