no it had nothing to with rape...in Leviticus says throwing yourself to man as like a woman is abomination...so yeah it is a sin, and there cannot be such thing as a "Gay Christian"

1. On the two options given before, I dont think they were specific enough. A homosexual is someone who is emotionally and physically attracted to the same sex and is repulsed by the opposite sex. You dont have to act on it to not be gay just like straight people are straight before having relationships. 2. Using that definition of gay yes one can be gay and a christian. However they will never completely be sanctified if they dont seek healing and if they actively practice their homosexuality then they are in danger of losing their salvation. Just like someone who actively continues to steal, murder etc etc.

On atheism, all things are meaningless and pointless. I'm not sure why you would care about my persueing something just as equally meaningless and pointless under your worldview.

I've always wondered how that goes along with the next verse...

I've met plenty of homosexuals who weren't Catholic. To say that there is no such thing as a gay Christian is to say that no such thing as a lying Christian, an sngry Christian, a addict Christian, a pedophilic Christian.... the problem is not in their preference, but what they embrace... however, even if they embrace homosexuality there are a lot of things that are also considered abominations. If you're gonna say that homosexuals cannot go to hell then I really hope you have never thought a lustful thought, acted greedily, been proud... these are abominations too (and many more) There is so much more to say, but now I must stop for fear of losing self-control.

Jimmy: From Chuck Smith's C2000 commentary on Proverbs 26-31:

The next two seem to be inconsistent.

Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him (Pro 26:4).

In other words, don't really engage in an argument with a fool. It's a waste of time. There are some people you just should never argue with. So don't answer the fool according to his folly. They make some fool remark and if you make some fool remark back, you're answering the fool according to his folly and he begins to classify you in his category.

The next one, as I say, it seems to be saying the opposite thing, but in reality it doesn't.

Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit (Pro 26:5).

In other words, if you answer a fool, answer him according to the folly that he has declared, putting down the statement that he has made. Lest he thinks, "Oh, I'm very wise," and he's wise in his own conceit. So if you answer the fool, answer him according to the folly that he has declared. In other words, correcting the folly that he has declared, lest he think himself wise.

So basically, don't argue at length with a fool, but correct what he's said so he doesn't think himself wise when he's in error.

It's simple, just believe what the bible say's. All scripture is truth, there is no such thing as a untrue scripture. All scripture is God inspired, just believe it and there you have your answer. God says things word for word and then he implies things, believe what the Word of scripture says, it's either you believe it or you dont. Scripture is the morale standard for all things, stop trying to explain away what scripture makes obvious, it's either we are with Christ or against him. To all of you who keep endorsing homosexuality, who cares if original words doesnt use the word homosexuality, the bible doesnt use many words that we use to endorse Christianity today, they are just words used to explain something that the bible implies. All of you who are endorsing homosexuality, just admit it, you just dont like that God implies that homosexuality is wrong and the opposite of what He intended concerning relationships between a man and a female, just admit it. And we who are for what God intended to be right, we just need to stop trying to explain it, Gods Word is clearm we need to stop trying to explain it in great ways and just tell what the bible says, say what the bible says and lets leave it up to the Holy Spirit to convict one of sin. Either those are who are in sin will listen to the Holy Spirit or not, one will either listen to the Words of God or they wont and they will have to suffer the consequences, preach the Words of God and if they dont listen move along to the next, yes it breaks our hearts concerning the rebellious who know the words of God are obvious, But either they will listen to God or they wont...the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, either they will choose life or death.

Stick with your day job and stop psycho-analyszing me. I REALLY don't believe one bit that God dislikes homosexuality. That theory was invented by classical-era Jews and early Christians who were homophobic b/c the Greeks and Romans practiced homosexuality freely and they found it gross. Prejudice is prejudice. It's wrong no matter how you look at it. You're being judgemental and ignorant b/c a bunch of people who weren't Jesus said you should be. Someone needs to make you people have am enlightenment-like "ah-ha!" moment and wake up.

There are plenty of scriptures about judging amongst believers (AKA, accountability) and expelling people from the congregation who decide whole-heartedly to live in their sin.

This is what Jesus said in Matthew 5:

17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Then, in Matthew 26:

26While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”

27Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28This is my blood of theb covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father’s kingdom.”

There are many, many examples in the scriptures of Jesus and the Apostles teaching against habitual sins. Some people will say, "Well, that was just the judgmental apostles/OT prophets/etc, but Jesus would never...!" But what people need to understand is that God doesn't change just because society says He should.

Judgment isn't inherently bad, if it is lovingly spoken to help a brother or sister in Christ to return. You know, so many people remember the words of Psalms 23, but they don't understand the meaning. When it mentions "Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me," many don't know what those tools are used for, exactly. A Shepherd's Look at Psalm 23 is an excellent little bok for some insight.

LOL when you cheat on your wife at the age of 40 with a guy, then talk to me.

B/c that's what happens to people that do "corrective therapy." It's dangerous and never works. And every case of it "working" usually changes years later when the patient either kills them self or comes out of the closet. I'm not gay, but if I was, I'd hope my family and friends would love me enough to NOT act like all of you.

Do you believe that God scripted the Holy Bible? If you do, then have you truthfully considered a clean read of this Scripture: Romans 1:24-27 or this one 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, or this one 1 Timothy 1:7-11?

FSYboy i'm there with you don't let ignorant people wind you up just stick to your convictions because after all are these people going to effect your life?
If by conviction you mean a Christian belief then you are mistaken, because all Christian beliefs line up with God's inerrant, everlasting Word from the beginning (John 1).

I don't think we should be laughing at adultery; gay or straight.

The bible seems to endorse a type of "corrective therapy".

2 Corinthians 5:17 said:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Which is sad.

I suppose it depends on how we understand the word love. If you'd rather me not warn someone of that cliff edge...
