So no it is then. Well I disagree and yes of course I am familiar with the verses you quote and in fact have applied them to myself and others (others in my mind if not physically so and the others being those I associate with). It is my perception that those verses would apply to locality and personal knowledge regarding offense and so on. What witnesses would I take with me as I have never associated with Copeland in any way other than through what I see or hear on tv? (short lived to be sure as I cannot take too much of that)

I agree regarding prayer and have seen that in action regarding an unrepentant person who was in the process of seducing a young woman who had just come to Christ. He was the youth leader and he made a public apology, although did not go into detail but some of us knew just what he was after.

I don't know the history of Copeland but my experience has shown me that many go off the rails after a while and I think they are seduced and in turn seduce others. By that, I mean fall for the lies of seducing spirits that the Bible speaks of. I agree it is not too late for anyone to turn but also see that God does just say to some 'I never knew you' when they appear before Him.

Oh I know you are not defending him and if you read my previous posts you might see I don't think any of us can point an innocent finger. Yet, we are to know the truth and defend it.

Is that necessary? As a Christian, I will tell you straight that I do not suffer from a guilt complex nor will I be compelled to obey or run and do what another tells me to do because I am a Christian. No offense, but I do not see my fellowship with Christ as some sort of compulsion to do what others think is Gods' will for me. I do not think it is my place to tell Copeland which way is up. Have you any sort of idea how many many times this has already been provided to him and yet he continues as he is? His face has changed and gives away the inner man. It is not a pretty sight.

You make a very good argument AND I agree with much of what you have SAID. However. I do not care how many times others have addressed this I am accountable for what I do. We are to forgive 7X 70 per offense per day each day. 490 :) that's more than days in a year :) to be done in one day.

I personally won’t donate to anyone unless I feel good about it in my heart. That isn’t out of greed, but out of sheer honesty. It’s better to not fake through something like a charitable donation that doesn’t come from place of sincerely charity. Honesty and sincerity are spiritual gold.

No I would not. I watched a youtube video on him doing supposed healings of disabled folks. There were no healings to see and one of the wheelchair users fell on the back of his wheelchair when he supposedly imparted the Spirit. Wheelchair was on its back.

Kenny didnt say sorry but have the falling over as part of Gods doing and praised God.

Nope.

Yup. But again, did I condemn Copeland himself? No I did not. the heart is not our territory and I pretty much address that in previous posts which is why I said if you had read them but at the same time, things are moving along pretty quickly and we can't read every single post. It is good that God forgives us on a continuing basis if we are in fellowship with Him.

LOL. Well ok. But Jesus is not posting here and I disagree that He intends we should travel around confronting people. And again and not to bore anyone, but Copeland has been confronted many times and he just winks and carries on. As a so called teacher he would need to be answerable for what he teaches and so far, I would not want to be him!

Interesting discussion if a bit dramatic.

You must be new here. This is pretty tame compared to what usually goes on in the BDF (or as I like to call it Pharisee Disagreement Forum).
And CS1 is taking it easy on you. He hasn't resorted to personal attacks, yet.
Count yourself lucky its going this well.

Oh yeah? It would be telling to go from Copeland to attacking someone personally. I hope not.

Then I would think you would understand and possibly agree with me? I mean you are saying that to me. Why should your words prevail over mine? I did not get my thoughts from a book but from the Bible and my fellowship with God. I do not see in those scriptures you quoted what you seem to think is a universal command to every one of us in any situation. I think you have to accept that unless you believe you somehow have authority over me?

I tend to bristle when someone tries to make a point and when the other person does not accept they then start saying 'Jesus says'
That is how I see what you are doing. Please stop it because you are not my teacher and this is a forum.

Are you saying Copeland is carnal then? Biblically illiterate? We cannot judge his prayer life though. Lazy? Possibly?

I think the number one problem with Christians today is following seducing spirits and having the opinion they could never be fooled but everyone else is suspect.

I don't think you have really accepted the fact I do not agree with your interpretation while still thinking I should do what you say. Who is the one deceiving people? Copeland? You have kind of tried to turn aside from that and put guilt on others in my humble opinion.

Guess we will have to leave it there though.

It seems this thread has gone off track but for the record, I would just like to repost what I initially stated to another poster way back on page 2. This is the actual focus for me. No one likes to be misunderstood or have words put in their mouth they did not say or even think. I kind of feel that has been done somewhat, so just to clarify, I am reposting. Thanks.

Well don't misunderstand me. I make no excuses but it is not good to judge hearts. I fear my own would be condemned before what seems obvious since I know better and I knew better.

I have no problem pointing out the false and indeed, I believe scripture instructs us to do so. And yes I know how angry Paul was and the things he said against those who twisted the truth. Gullible people are a problem. Why is that?

You do know what scripture states about itching ears? Are these false teachers not sent out to scratch those ears? If not sent out, then what? (I am actually asking because the more I see, the more I could be in pain for all the falseness and those who seem to delight in the lies)

I am thinking of this:
Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? 6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
II Thessalonians

Here God sends delusions. Give the people what they want. Says the same in Romans. God gives people over but yet we also know that He takes no delight in the death of the wicked.

I won't deny I am pretty introspective but it seems to me that things are being put on display and those with eyes to see and ears to hear are looking up and wondering. It is not the close of the age but I think possibly the curtains are being disturbed.

Listen. I totally understand what you are saying and I have no judgement for what you say.

I've learned to keep it simple. I trust the Lord...and no one else. My hope is in the Lord...alone. He is faithful...to me!
