Wine is a mocker. Why put something in your body that scripture, God calls a mocker?
Do you deliberately overlook those verses where alcohol is recommended, or do you really not see them?

Because they have been posted a number of times now.

Your preference is not to drink. Good on you.

Others do not have the same strictures.

Not everyone who drinks does so wantonly.

I think the following principle is wise. To avoid fornication, it is good not to touch a woman. To avoid drunkenness, don’t touch alcohol. Don’t play with fire.

1 Corinthians 7:
1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
Again you cite Scripture that does not parallel directly with the subject at hand. You have no case.

No it's not. Many people have proven that to be a false claim.

New wine can be made by squeezing a bunch of grapes into a cup according to the below verse.

Genesis 40:11 And Pharaoh's cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand.

If only people would consider the research from the scripture which was provided twice,
You did not provide any references. You provided a link to a download site, and as I told you, I'm not downloading anything from an unknown site. Either quote the article directly, or find a source that doesn't require a download.

Alcohol is indeed forbidden in scripture. I referred to several such texts in the research of the Bible.
While ignoring the texts that permit it, recommend it, and even command it.

You have no case. Drop it already.

No kidding. First he says, don't touch. Then he says, get one of your own so you
can touch all you want. Then he tries to connect this to drinking somehow???

I don't see a correlation either! :giggle:

Nothing about "wine" of any sort in that verse. You need to read more closely. You also need to consider context; that was a dream, of a pagan no less, not a word from the Lord.

If only we could move past the satanic spirit of non Bible study, and go to the scriptures cited from the beginning. If only ... When do you think we can go to the scriptures and study Dino?

If only people would consider the research from the scripture which was provided twice, instead of promoting non-scriptural anecdotal 'just-so' stories, then a real bible study could begin, but the devil does not like detailed and exact consideration of God's word, and must add his own commentary and take away from what God said every time.

Perhaps bible study, which was the point of this thread to begin with, can take place after all of the Babylonian "whine" has gone out of some men, and all are properly 'vented' from their 'leaven'.
I carefully cited several Bible references on this topic in my first post in this thread. Anyone who wants to make the argument that alcohol is completely forbidden will need to address each of them carefully.

Would anyone like to study scripture on places where the Bible forbids the drinking of alcohol?

Alcohol is forbidden to be drank in God's tabernacle/sanctuary/temple service by the Priests:

Lev 10:9: "Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:"

Does anyone doubt God forbid drinking of alcohol here in this situation (contextually)?

What was the penalty for violating God's explicit command?

Who suffered such a penalty?

(Please keep in mind what I have said, not what I have not said, and attempt to assume what I might say (you'll more than likely guess wrong), better to consider the scriptures in what they themselves say).

My question is why?
Why do you spend your money on something unnecessary for living.
Why support an industry the produces a product that wrecks so many lives.
Why add to the wealth of those who do not seem to care about the number of lives their product destroys?

Do you have evidence that the "wine" at the wedding was alcoholic, rather than the "wine" of non alcoholic grape juice?

It seems you might have assumption based upon the word "wine". Have you studied this word in scripture and in the context the wedding? I am only asking.
The clue comes with the steward saying "everyone serves the good wine first and when they have drunk freely the poor wine"

Why do you? You don't need coffee or tea or sodas. Just pure water is all you need. And food? Don't need fancy or flavorful foods, just boil up some wheat, eat some fruit and have some dry and tasteless chicken etc and wash it down with water. You don't need spices to make things taste good!

A mud hut is all we need!

Which specific Scripture? And who, in the Church, is not "in God's service"?

The Bible says...those in leadership/influencing positions.
Have you been in the Bible much? If not do a search. You have a computer or you couldn't b on this forum.

That sounds like the grapes of wrath. No mention at all about new wine in that verse.

You made the assertion, you provide the evidence. I know what the Scriptures say... by reviewing them, you will learn what they don't say.
