I may have read that to my daughter way back in the day when she was a child.I liked the Thomas the Tank Engine books, read by Ringo Starr
JFK was shot in 1963. Probably the culture at the time had a profound influence on the songs the Beatles composed and performed.I kept asking well what happened in 1964? I think it was when JFK was shot. Although I dont really know how that affected the Beatles, music in general did change.
The premise of your novel sounds like it would be an interesting and wholesome read for sure.I started writing a novel about my childhood a while ago. It's a comedy and nonfictional. I had a pretty great childhood and it was very adventurous sometimes. I haven't touched that document in years...but it's always in the back of my mind. I recently moved back to the small town I grew up in...so the memories are flooding back. I think it's a good time to finish it.
So basically it's about an average 9 year old, living in a border town, growing up with a single mother, a pesky little brother and a grandma with old fashioned values. School can be difficult because of bullies and teachers that seem to hate her. The only good thing is the trio of best friends that she has. After school, her and her little brother have adventures with neighborhood friends where they sometimes get into mischief.
I know they went to India and got into TCM and had gurus and drugs and things but not sure what year they did that.JFK was shot in 1963. Probably the culture at the time had a profound influence on the songs the Beatles composed and performed.
is it sort of like Little House on the Prairie?
I read the whole series, then found out was mostly written with the help of Laura's daughter Rose. I remember one book, think it was called Farmer Boy, about Almanzo, Laura's eventual husband, who at 9 years old. skipped school to work on the farm, and he had to do everything from feeding the animals to churning butter to getting his shoes made by a cobbler, and it was just page after page of farm chores lol
And he never got paid. He wanted to work in town and be a shopkeeper but his father forbade him. A hard life eh.
