Three of them are volumes of poetry. For "The Beloved Psalms in English Verse" and "Ruth in Verse" I just turned the KJV Bible books of Psalms and Ruth into rhyming poetry. "Captain of My Soul" is more personal poetry drawn from my life journey.

My other book relates to Bible prophecy. "How America Ends" discusses the Mystery Babylon prophecies in Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, and Revelation.

Ah, those sound interesting, especially taking books of the Bible and turning them into poems.

well if they were saved they would have gone to heaven right?

I mean what happened to their families, the book just said there were ten funerals and that was it. There was nothing about the victims. It was all about how it affected the judge and her love life! .

anyway, I dropped the other Jodi Picoult back to the library without reading cos I dont think I could stomach another clunker.

I want to find the rhyming Bible

I found one translation of the ten commandments and the translator made it all rhyme like a poem.
 
I'm reading a mystery set in the NYC public library called 'The Lions of Fifth Avenue' by Fiona Davis.
Of course, some books go missing and the librarians get blamed. welcome to my world.

I think maybe the lions ate them, but cant be too sure, or it could be the invisible book monster. Or maybe, the books just disappear by themselves. It cant be that the person they are issued to house is such a mess that they cant find their books. What do they expect us to do, get a search warrant and go and look for them? Its always that person claims well I never took it out.

Im like well yea but it was issue to you on this date, the computer doesnt lie. Or someone else got it for them but didnt deliver it. That isnt MY fault then is it, if you were to lazy to come to the library to pick it up. grr

Theres entire books written about poor excuses like that, and some people cant accept that sometimes yes books just go missing!

A lot of eras I'm interested in, so it hard to choose. Probably the 1960s U.S. or UK. I think this is an interesting period from the 50s to the 70s, from traditionalism to drugs/hippies/etc.
 
Well they found the book thief...and they got charged and sentenced to 5 years in prison, 3 on probation and 300 hours of community service.

Im like what...so the book thief could end up working in a library? They got the books back though.
I would have just said thanks for returning them its a little late but I forgive you.

The only Beatle book I have read is 'In His Own Write' by John Lennon. He wrote a nice little poem about a little budgie, which is a bird.

I call my budgie Jeffrey,

I started writing a novel about my childhood a while ago. It's a comedy and nonfictional. I had a pretty great childhood and it was very adventurous sometimes. I haven't touched that document in years...but it's always in the back of my mind. I recently moved back to the small town I grew up in...so the memories are flooding back. I think it's a good time to finish it.

So basically it's about an average 9 year old, living in a border town, growing up with a single mother, a pesky little brother and a grandma with old fashioned values. School can be difficult because of bullies and teachers that seem to hate her. The only good thing is the trio of best friends that she has. After school, her and her little brother have adventures with neighborhood friends where they sometimes get into mischief.

is it sort of like Little House on the Prairie?

I read the whole series, then found out was mostly written with the help of Laura's daughter Rose. I remember one book, think it was called Farmer Boy, about Almanzo, Laura's eventual husband, who at 9 years old. skipped school to work on the farm, and he had to do everything from feeding the animals to churning butter to getting his shoes made by a cobbler, and it was just page after page of farm chores lol

And he never got paid. He wanted to work in town and be a shopkeeper but his father forbade him. A hard life eh.

I was a huge Beatles fan when I was in my tweens/early teens. At that time I was into their early songs which were cheesy boy girl songs so that resonated. My dad is a big Beatles fan. Later on I appreciated some of their latter songs but a lot of them are a bit druggie. I did the Beatles tour in Liverpool about six years ago, and saw all their homes (some inside, some outside) and other iconic places.

Did you see the movie Yesterday, a bit of a tribute.
I wanted to do that Liverpool magical mystery tour when I was there, but didnt have time and had to settle for taking the ferry across the Mersey instead. I think maybe I walked past the Cavern club bit I dont remmeber it was only a day.

We used to sing 'Yellow Submarine' and 'Imagine' at school. I like most of their songs and they were endlessly covered by other bands too, like the Carpenters. My dad collects records inclduing the Beatles but they all are pre-1964

After that, he claims, everything they did was rubbish
