Right...it doesn't teach sinlessness (1 John 1:8, 1 Timothy 1:15, Romans 7:18)....

However, it does teach perfection (Hebrews 10:14 (kjv))
Perfection as in completeness. That is to say, finding our wholeness in Christ, through Whom we are perfected in a process of sanctification, which is life-long, and finalized in the hereafter when we shall be like Him. As to the glory which shall be revealed in us? "It is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."

As perfection means completeness, so also completeness means perfection.

Col 2:10, And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Col 2:11, In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Col 2:12, Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

We are told in 2 Corinthians 7:1 to perfect holiness in the fear of the Lord by cleansing ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit....

Which means that filthiness of spirit is not out of the question...

And that if it can be cleansed from us, that so can filthiness of the flesh be cleansed from us.
how on this earth can you cleanse your own spirit? did you save yourself to begin with? the spirit is what is renewed and unless you can do that for yourself, sorry you can't, then you had better depend on the grace of God to do that for you since that is how you were saved in the first place

No; I corrected him.
if that helps you sleep...frankly thinking I am responsible for my own salvation would keep me up at night

you do not seem to realize you are disagreeing with yourself here

Yes; even in the practical sense for those of us who have been redeemed (Titus 2:14).
that is true but that hardly means you are now living in sinless perfection

tell me, is there a church you attend in which you have received the beliefs you adhere to?

I would genuinely like to know. thanks

Maybe you should ask that question to the author of 2 Corinthians.

Since I have accepted the responsibility and done what is necessary to be saved, I lose no sleep at night...

you do not seem to realize you are disagreeing with yourself here
How so?

I get my doctrine from the Bible not any particular denomination.

I do attend a Calvary Chapel but I don't think that they agree with me in everything.

do you really mean to say that you have done what is necessary for your salvation?

maybe you just worded that wrong. I hope

interesting. I am very familiar with Calvary Chapel and they definitely do not teach what you espouse.

in fact, I even attended the original in CA for awhile before I moved and there is one right near my house

they do not teach what you seem to believe about the spirit and salvation

small world

anyway, I have things to attend to....

you have done nothing

Jesus has done it all and we accept His work on our behalf through faith

smh...Calvary Chapel would shudder if they knew you thought this

I test everything that is taught to me by the scriptures.

I tend to be a Berean (Acts 17:10-11).

I have fulfilled the condition to a conditional promise in holy scripture for receiving remission of sins and the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38-39).

Yes...and this includes faith in the promises of the Lord (2 Peter 1:3-4, Hebrews 11:33, 2 Corinthians 1:20, Romans 4:20-22).

A lie from the pit (see Hebrews 10:14 (kjv)).
there is something very wrong with your understanding

perfection is impossible for a human being
