I know that we all have expectations and preconceived notions of how we should act.

WHY

We are a selfish lot and don't want to shoulder others troubles and cares.

Jesus said for us to cast our cares upon him,to take his yoke for it is easy. Who is truly the ONLY one to TRUST to not condemn you if your are real. God alone!

Therefore we wear mask to hide the truth from others,the truth of pain,despair,emptiness,sorrow,ect the list can be expanded.

Do we have to,really? Can we just not care if others see the raw emotions of the wreck that sin has had on our lives. Can we not just let it out and be ourselves and be accepted?

Please forgive if this upsets but I would like for US to examine ourselves deeply,get to the core of WHO we are.

Social masks are very useful constructs. Of course there are societies that take this to the extreme (cough-Japan-cough) but in general social masks get us through the day with a minimum of friction between us and everybody around us.

If we all DID drop our masks for a day you would quickly be begging us to put them back on. Nobody wants to deal with all the pain from everybody around him, all at once and constantly.

You ain't the only one. That movie was supposed to be "so lame that it is amusing" but it just makes me cringe all the way through.

I have a theory that people try to make themselves believe they enjoyed the movie because it was marketed as something intentionally lame, so they think it's cool to enjoy it for the nerd cred.

Where is the admonition in scripture that forbids a study of astrology? Horoscopes is a part of witchcraft and I get that!

Mt.16:2-4. He answered and said unto them,When it is evening,ye say,It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
And in the morning,It will be foul weather today: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites,ye can DISCERN THE FACE OF THE SKY; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

In this I understand Jesus was rebuking them with the admonition of their superior knowledge of astrology but total failure to recognize the sign of the times.
Jesus birth,ministry,death,burial,and resurrection that was to come. They failed to put all together and recognize their Messiah!

1) Please look up the modern definitions of these two words and pay particularly close attention to the principle difference between them:

astronomy
astrology

2) Please understand that neither has anything [directly] to do with discerning the weather.

I came home to find seven puppies on my yard! :eek:
The neighbor's dog had puppies and he lets them roam around everywhere. I don't mind because puppies...but I hope they don't get hurt. I was worried about running them over.

Astrology,the art of studying the relative positions of the sun,moon,planets,and constellations to explain and predict events on earth. It is NOT science
The zodiac is a ring of constellations that lie along the ecliptic,where we get our birth signs by month.Psychics and fortune tellers use signs one is born under to predict PERSONAL events in a persons life.Astrology has no scientific VALIDITY!

LUKE21:25 There will be signs in the sun,moon,and stars,Jesus said.

Astronomy,the study of everything in the UNIVERSE BEYOND EARTH'S ATMOSPHERE,like sun,moon,planets,and stars. It is a SCIENCE that studies everything outside of the earth atmosphere and the properties and relationships of those celestial bodies.


Got it Gary,thank you. Astronomy is a true science,while astrology is the belief that certain position in our atmosphere can affect the way events occur on earth.

So when all the kings and their prophets served false gods they were using astrology to predict oh this means that and that means this of things in the sky.......lol
In Matthew was Jesus rebuking them for astrology?
