Well . . . I have between one and two hundred verses that essentially prove it. That said, it is the claim of the Bible, not me. So . . . maybe just go easy a bit. Good grief.
I thought I did go easy, but I guess that is hard for me to do when I take God’s Word seriously. God IS in control of all things, but he allows mankind to practice the free will He created us with.
If we say that God causes us to do terrible things like the Holocaust and other wars and terrible things, then we are essentially blaming Him for causing us to commit the sins we commit. And, if God has caused us to do all the terrible things we do, then there was no reason for Christ to die on the cross for OUR sins.
Is there any other way to take what Paul said? Is he a liar? Is the translation wrong?
Romans 11:7-8 NLT - "So this is the situation: Most of the people of Israel have not found the favor of God they are looking for so earnestly. A few have--the ones God has chosen--but the hearts of the rest were hardened. 8 As the Scriptures say, "God has put them into a deep sleep. To this day he has shut their eyes so they do not see, and closed their ears so they do not hear."
God chose those who were obedient. He chose them so that they would obey. Those who were not chosen, which is "most of Israel" was not chosen, thus they did not obey.
What's the problem with what Paul wrote? Why does it bug you so much?
If you took the Word of God seriously, you'd be just as aware of His Power and Control as I am. All it takes is a sober reading of the entire Bible.

You are assuming that I haven’t read the entire Bible or studied it in depth multiple times. If you must know, I‘m actually in a Christian school working on a degree for Divinity.
I also clearly remember telling you I agree that God is in full control- full control in which he allows us free will. Our free will is what allows us to sin, therefore needing a Savior. Denying that we choose to sin and disobey God because He has allowed us to is denying Christ.

It’s clear to me you are looking for someone to argue with and insult because you want to “be right”. I suggest you keep looking because I am not that person.
I know what I believe, you do not. You are assuming things about me and my college and insulting me and my college. You are a grade A “Christian”. I would expect nothing less from someone who thinks God causes people to sin. If I didn’t know any better, I would say you are jealous that I am taking classes to honor God.
I completely agree. The research I have done has led me to the same information. It’s absolutely crazy and it blew my mind when I started putting things together a few years ago. And as new things happen and new info emerges, my mind continued to be blown by the evil that surrounds us.

Ah, so now you use “woman” as an insult as if I am beneath you or under you. Newsflash: I am a co-heir with all Christian men who are saved. Every man who is truly saved understands this.
You are a mere man and I owe you no adoration or more respect than I would give anyone else. However, I would say I am being very respectful to you given the fact that you have insulted me not once, not twice, but three times now simply on the basis that I disagree with you and “disliked” your post. Now I see that you have insulted my knowledge of God’s Word not only because in general you think your beliefs are superior to others, but because I am a woman you believe you are superior to me. Are you sure you are reading The Bible and not The Quran?
With that being said, I’m not angry with you, and I forgive you for insulting me and my college and being angry with me over something trivial. Also, I suggest you look up the difference between “Bible College” and “Seminary”. I am not going to seminary, I go to a Bible College.
And just because you are assuming to know so much about me, I will tell you that before I started Bible College last year, I read the Bible from start to finish 4 times a year for 4 years in a row.

I seem to remember I explained to you why I disagreed with you and disliked your post, but instead of refuting me with scripture you are insulting me as a woman of God.
