Rest is not the cessation of activity. Rest is operating from a position of legitimately delegated authority and doing nothin in your own strength. You are free to function according to the terms and condition of your authority because the One whose authority was delegated to you guarantees the outcome, so long as you function within the scope of the authority.
Hebrews 4:9-11 “There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.”
Hebrews 4:9-11 “There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.”
Those who believe and teach that rest includes God ignoring our sins, even before we commit them, have lost touch with both biblical reality & common sense. Biblical rest is simply ceasing from striving to be Christ-like by human means, and allowing the Holy Spirit to live the Christian life both in us & through us by living a lifestyle of daily reliance and complete trust.
