Zero reference to water or baptism.

These 2 verses refer to the same subject as Eph 1:13,14
13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,

14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

Water baptism accomplishes 2 things:

1. identifies the baptized with Christ.
2. gets one wet

That's all, folks.

The Holy Ghost is absolutely promised to all those who receive baptism in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38-39).

Baptism in Jesus' Name accomplishes two things:

1) remission of sins
2) the receiving of the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Actually, I will say one more thing.

You may indeed be able to apprehend the Holy Ghost through simple faith and prayer...

However, if you want an absolute promise; so that there is no room for doubt as to whether you may have received a counterfeit,

Be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth for the remission of sins.

(Acts 2:38-39).

It's as simple as:

"get this one done."

Acts 19:5-6...

The believers at Ephesus, received the gift of the Holy Spirit after they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

It indicates to me that the faith spoken of in Ephesians 1:13-14 included the initiation into the faith of water baptism in Jesus' Name.

As it is written,

Col 2:12, Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Thank you, 2ndTimothyGroup Heh, well, surely there are those too who have been offended by my angels for one reason or another, but I drew the line there in trying to appease the criticisms of others concerning my "art," believing the problem was truly in their heart and not mine. I have been on a bit of an extended break from designing recently, due to the mechanical failure of a fan on my laptop that has my design program on it... but that phone call I received the other night that interrupted a reply I was making to you? It was from my daughter, who has a laptop she had promised to gift to me, that I told her I would not take possession of until she had installed my design program on it for me. I have been patiently waiting for her to do so, without putting any pressure on her, since she has a lot on her plate right now with her dad suddenly passing intestate almost three months ago. In fact it was a laptop she had bought for him that he had never used. Anyways, she has now begun the process of getting the laptop ready for me! A few times I have thought about turning on the malfunctioning laptop to tinker with an image to get it ready for posting in my Scripture Art thread, but the constant grinding and whirring noise is truly off-putting, and so I wait... In the meantime, I post those images which are already done, of which there are quite a few after almost four years of making them, and I am always happy to hear they are appreciated, since they are designed to share with my brothers and sisters in the Lord here on Christian Chat, as well as any visitors who may happen along

The Bible says....be baptized in the name of the Father, The Son and the Holy spirit. Why do you wish to change it to just The Holy Spirit?

The spiritual rebirth only becomes a reality after all of the following have taken place; belief in Jesus, repentance, water baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38-41, 8:12-18, 9:17-18, 10:44-48, 19:1-6, 22:16)

Clearly, Peter may not have allowed the Gentiles to be water baptized for the remission of sin if he did not witness God's acceptance of the group. God knew the group would accept Peter's entire message; therefore, God filled them first. (Acts 15:7-9) Afterward Peter commanded the Gentiles, as he did the Jews at Pentecost, to be water baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. As noted elsewhere in scripture, obedience to these requirements constitutes one's spiritual rebirth experience.

Actually God is the one who made the rules. Unfortunately, many denominations teach things that go entirely against what is presented in the word.

Consider what is presented in Matthew Chapter 7. Jesus said straight is the gate and narrow is the way and few will find it. He goes on to say many will be surprised when He professes I never knew you. Jesus concludes the chapter with important information about laying a proper foundation. The foundation in every believer's life is actually one's spiritual rebirth which BEGINS with believing in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. This rebirth requires obedience to God's established plan initially presented in Acts 2:36-41. Without this foundation nothing a person does is of any consequence. For Jesus said that those who hear His sayings but do not do them are foolish.

Matt 7:26-27
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
