I'm thinking shortages here will hit around Christmas and follow into the New Year.
I'm thinking the 7 year famine "began" September 25th, this year.

Amos 8:10 I will turn your religious festivals into mourning and all your singing into weeping. I will make all of you wear sackcloth and shave your heads. I will make that time like mourning for an only son and the end of it like a bitter day.

We don't have songs associated with Thanksgiving, but turning "Thanksgiving" into mourning seems like the sense for this verse. We do have lots of Christmas songs and the practice is to have Christmas carols, so the sense I get here is they will be turned to weeping.

The verse talks about "festivals" plural. There is a similar event at the start of the Great Tribulation where Zechariah says they will see Him whom they pierced.

So this is interpretive, but when I read Amos all all the sins he lists off it seems it is particularly pointed at the US ("a Christian nation"). The tribulation which begins with the pretribulation rapture in which babies and toddlers are also taken along with all the "Jesus Freaks" that the "more sensible" Christians had mocked, ridiculed and ignored. So for those who are left behind God will "turn their religious festivals into mourning". But this is plural, at the time of Easter we don't have several religious festivals. I suspect this verse gets fulfilled prior to Thanksgiving. Generally after Thanksgiving is when they flood the radio with the "Christmas songs". They will be like salt in the wounds of anyone left behind.

Shortages are already here...
Turkeys are almost $2/lb instead of $0.69 or something like usual...

This is going to be the Christmas that you can't buy.

I used to raise an eyebrow at my husbands' storing food, taking advantage of the buy 1, get 1 specials and general 'stocking up'

now I see he was ahead of his time LOL!

we have 3 turkeys in the extra big freezer he bought (which raised 2 eyebrows at the time) and they were purchased before they became so expensive....and lots of other non-perishable stuff. he's got me doing the same :giggle:

I like a big selection anyway

now if only we could have stored gas somewhere

We are watching the collapse in slow motion. What happens if you build it and they don't come?

Think of how junky these brand new buildings are that the best thing to do is raise them to the ground. No one was willing to pay for them?

Evergrande is prioritizing interest payments on domestic bonds! Don't default with CCP but everyone else gets 0. Proof that the CCP acts like a cartel or criminal organization.

Japan is helping 87 companies leave China to come to Japan! This is because of the pandemic exposing the problems of depending too much on China!

Japan, Australia and India are turning the screws on China.

we have started stocking up due to inflation
Right now fresh meat is extremely expensive and getting more difficult to obtain.

1/3 of Supply chain leaders are looking to move at least part of their operation out of China.

Real estate bubble is bursting, business is leaving, investment is pulling out, and China is in the midst of several years of very bad harvests. They are going to have mass famine and when that happens no one is going to NBA games or buying smart phones. Cow towing to the Chinese because of their "market" is going to blow up in the face of all these woke corporations.

I have always had a prepper mentality and usually have a stock pile of various items on hand. Food and water are one of those things that people take for granted and if there ever was a serious disruption in the supply chain many people might not survive.

Dystopian TV shows and movies give such an inaccurate representation of what things would really be like. You see people running around all day on very little food and water and seemingly able to survive off of a little vegetable garden.

Water is the biggest thing but we also need sufficent amounts of fat, cholesterol, protein, fruits, vegetables, and certain vitamins & minerals. A lot of which are hard to come by in the wild, and in the old days a lot of health problems were from the lack of certain vitamins & minerals so a lot of food we buy now have what we need most added to them.

Electricity is another thing and without it we can't refrigerate anything and perishable foods spoil. If you have a well for water your pump won't run so no water either. You may have a back up generator which is great as long as it's large enough to run your loads and you have fuel for it.

If anyone wants to be truly prepared it takes a lot of research, dedication and $$$. I'm kinda torn because I was prepping to protect my family but when my ex and her lack of wisdom decided to tear our family apart I lost almost everything and prepping has become less important to me.

I also want to put my faith in God to take care of me during hard times, but I'm not sure if he would also want me to prep. I do believe that there will be a time when us Christians that refuse to take the mark will be allowed to starve and or be beheaded. At this point in my life there is very little on this earth that I want to stick around for so a quick death would be preferable but, starving to death is not quick and I would like to avoid it.

I agree, and I am likewise. But I didn't get a extra freezer. But I am stocked, and I think of helping others if needed, since I am a house hold of 1. But I also feel the HS is telling me I will be fine. And what I have done is sufficient. My adult daughter, in another state, felt the Lord was telling her to prepare. She spent a lot and did a lot preparing. She has a family of 4. As of this date, she hasnt needed it. And ended up giving it all away because the Army then moved her across the country to Alaska and couldn't take all those goods with her. I see the Lord is telling different Christians different strategies or directions. And I know them well enough, I believe them.

I AM hearing about shortages on persctriptions. Because a lot of them are coming from China.

I'm fully stocked and loaded. The Lord is good!
Now I just need a man. LOL

They keep telling us there is a shortage coming. I haven't seen it yet locally but somewhere along the line people are gonna realize the holidays are upon us and they are out of luck. I just sense that we are in for some hard times ahead in America, like hasn't been seen in years.

I've never considered myself a prepper but I went out and got all the dry goods for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. I also got all the baking goods last night. Then hubby and I bought a freezer. I'm not panicked, I just the Lord telling us to prepare. I did the same for my parents. So is anyone else feeling the same way? We see the ships in the harbor and no movement. I think the holiday season is going to get bad quickly. I don't want to be out there fighting for TP with a mob of crazy people. But then, I always like to be prepared, I hate sitting and worrying and doing nothing. I figure if I prepare I can help someone else that needs it. Anyone else making plans or you don't think this is serious enough to prepare?
Its good to be prepared than to be sorry .. Hello Prepper lol God bless you for having a heart to help other family also . there is a lot of lack today especially because of the pandemic world wide .. Food insecurity outside the US ,I have been privileged to see and be a partaker to have enough empathy . keep up the good work . happy holidays

Let them eat cake!

Great idea for Biden on how to respond to these shortages and inflation, remove tax on cake to make it more affordable.

They aren't really coming from China... Asia is a big area that includes India...and India has most of the largest drug manufacturing facilities in the world because many of the base molecules they are built on come from the area.

The problem is shipping containers.
Some drugs are expensive enough that putting them on an airplane works...but many are not that expensive. So they need a shipping container. And those are in really short supply...the steel industry is having issues with getting enough raw materials, labor and energy...
(All is related)

So...yes, the drugs are being made but the antivaxxer activists have really done a number in many countries like India, Malaysia, Africa, and South America. Vietnam had to shut down recently due to overwhelming coronavirus...so did Beijing. India just keeps plugging along despite the bodies literally piled up in the streets.

It's going to be a while before things get back to the new normal anywhere. Maybe another 5-10 years.

Feedlot cattle are cheaper than live Cattle... because the processing facilities are backed up with little labor to process the beef. You would think it's the other way around but it isn't. Feed lots are desperate to get rid of the cattle they have. So they will take a loss trying to just get rid of them.

Wow, you really went off the rails on this one. You are now attributing deaths due to a bioweapon created in a bioweapon lab to "antivaxxers"? You are sounding like a looney tunes character trying to hunt rabbits.

Thank you, that is how we were raised. I remember yrs. ago my parents brought in a divorced mother and her four children in for the Christmas season. They bought all those children a gift. As adults those children are still in touch with my parents and love them like second parents. My parents were a long way from rich, but they shared what they had. Now as adults my sister and I always try to see who is in need and how we can help without making a scene but quietly give aid. Giving makes the season so much better.

Everything we do makes a ripple, the good and the bad.
