What kind of bible do you have? Does it only have that one verse?:unsure:

Curious how you weren't able to give a simple YES or NO answer. You'd prefer to hold on to your false doctrine rather than the Word of God.

I think it's best not respond to you anymore DB--I want to have mature theological discussions--this is not good use of my time or anyone else's.

I have about 40 English translations. They all say the "eternal punishment" is "forever and ever". How many do you have?

"Eternal life" and "Everlasting punishment" EXACT same Greek word! You don't believe in eternal life?

I was wondering, are you a Christian, and do you study the bible? Because if you say that "eternal life" and "everlasting punishment" are the exact same Greek word then there's a problem.

Ducky is the one re-writing bible by partially quoting a verse which is deceptive behavior.

He quoted phrases and then questioned the member on the full phrase, not the bolded adjective. Clearly he doesn't mind "done unto him" what he's "doing unto others", as that's the tenet we're all held to. So he needs to be accurate else he makes himself look foolish :)

When eternal is used in relation to God, Who is Himself eternally Self existent, do you not think it prudent to consider the context and allow His eternality to be something quite different than how the same word is used in relation to men? For it is obvious in many verses (such as those on the panel I provided in the post preceding yours) that forever in those verse does not mean without end. Look again:

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Exact same Greek word!

No, you left out part of a verse which is taking away part of the writing of the book of Reveleation.

You posted:

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

You intentionally left out most of the verse, which taking away from the verse.

Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Well, no offense (I like you Yahshua :) ), but you didn't seem to blink an eye to the following comment quoted from Post #222 (page 12), which you gave a hearty "LIKE" to:

I mean, that comment seems to be directed at "people" (in this thread), right?

Are those words particularly "gracious"? (especially since the "people" really were providing scriptural reasons for the viewpoint they were presenting, just as that person/commenter perceived themselves to be doing).

Yeah it is but the everlasting punishment is not torture. It's death. The wicked get everlasting death as a punishment, not life in torture. Only the righteous get eternal life.


Wicked= everlasting death as punishment.
Righteous= eternal life as reward.

The wicked DO NOT get to live forever. They will die and get burned up into nothingness.
