Getting back to the title of this thread, the only double-standard is in the minds of those that are carnal. God has given women a very high calling to be the best wives and mothers they can possibly be. The Proverbs 30 woman exemplifies this. The positive influence of godly mothers and wives cannot be over-emphasized.

But God has called men to be the spiritual leaders in the home and in the church. And God has forbidden women to (1) preach in the assembly (2) teach in the assembly, and (3) usurp authority within the assembly. And this is because of Eve.

However, because this order has been perverted, we are now seeing all kinds of issues. The husband is indeed the head of the wife, just as Christ is the Head of the Church (see Ephesians 5). And as a result, women are to cover their heads during worship, with the head covering as a symbol of the authority of both Christ and her husband (see 1 Corinthians 11).

We agree, actually. I say we live in the kingdom Christ proclaimed as our home, not the world as our home. You say we are not totally bound. We are both searching for the truth, and God is truth.

Praise God you are single. You will have a woman running your life. Anyone who uses the word sexism or inequality deserves no respect whatsoever.

If women are be able to do these things listed according to scripture, why then is it so hard to accept that women can minister with the same Spirit in all things just as the men?

Easy because the Bible states that woman should not minister.. And why do you assume ministry is a first class calling??? Of all the gifts ministry is probably the lowest in ranking.. Prophecy is the first and then the other gifts healing, tongues, discernment of spirits and the rest.. Even a street preacher is of vastly higher importance then a pastor of a congregation..

That is simply not true. There is no hint in Scripture that Deborah was a judge because of a dearth of available and capable men. There is no hint in Scripture that Prisca was a teacher because of a dearth of available and capable men. There is no hint in Scripture that Huldah was a prophet because of a dearth of available and capable men. There is no hint in Scripture that Chloe was a deacon because of a dearth of available and capable men.

I challenge you to provide even one example to support your claim.

Sadly, all you have done is repeat the unscriptural arguments of closed-minded complementarians. I would encourage you to take another look at the relevant Scripture with unbiased eyes.

The truth is in the scriptures...but eisogesis isn't going to work with Old Testament scriptures. Only exogesis.

Women's empowerment is trite at this point...

Men and women are equal in a lot of ways...this isn't one of them. This isn't about bossing women about as chattel. Far from it. And since your emotions are showing you are proving my point for me.

I agree, they were made differently. But I also believe this as well:
Gal 3:26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
In the Kingdom, we're equals. The only real difference is that a man is the spiritual leader in the household. This is where it says woman shouldn't usurp authority over a man, because in the marriage God gave the spiritual authority to the man.
The only thing hindering women in ministry is all these "spiritual" people wearing their doctrinal rose colored glasses.
You're right about the rest; we should only focus on God & let Him use us instead of listening to men.

Sounds like a prophecy. The poor guy is single but somewhere along the way he will meet a woman who will run ("ruin") his life. :cool:

So you wish to defy God and put women in "ministry" (preaching, teaching, ruling over the church)?. How does that jibe with your name "Edify"? If should simply be "Defy".

It's just not the Lord's way of doing things. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God".

I know the book says that but it is wrong! and right,,,,We are no longer man nor woman jew or Gentile old or young,,,but all are one,,,,,beside i feel a touch of pride in your statement.,,,,further Adam did worse then eve even accusing god for giving him the woman!,,,,,,Again i know i'm going against a scripture must people do,,,but under, guise & rationalization.

You are attempting the rewrite of God's word. See Rev. 22; 18,19....Deut. 4;2 and 12; 32

This is typical of the new age religion concept of...if you don't like it re-write it, publish a new bible and ...tickle ears and tell them what they want to hear.
A prominent end time prophecy.

As with all things the man our woman should be fully convinced in their own mind with regrade to their role with god.For any woman make sure its not because of pride.
