The original autographs are the only inerrant word of God. What we have now is God's inspired message. Some things have been altered in copying and translating. However, nothing of significance has been lost and we can rest assured that what we have is very close to the originals and sufficient for salvation and Godly living in Christ.
The kjv is inerrant and inspired as concerning doctrine, is my belief on the matter; as well as other translations; although certain modern translations are watered down in that they remove certain words, phrases, sentences, paragraphs, even entire passages from what they consider to be inspired.
So i abide by the kjv since I don't want to be cheated out of anything that the Holy Spirit might want to say to me.

Make that 40, although Dino wanted it to be 400. We will get into that in another thread. The RCC wants us to believe that there are thousands and thousands of denominations, so that the one true church of Rome stands out as the true beacon of hope.
You might want to word that a little differently such as "How many here believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired written Word of God?" And most Christians would agree that the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts were indeed divinely inspired, and for all practical purposes faithful word-for-word translations are indeed the Word of God. Hence the Bible is also inerrant and infallible. Yet many so-called "Evangelicals" today are denying all of this. In fact they are Liberals but hate to admit it.
When it comes to interpretation, the Bible should be primarily interpreted in its plain literal sense (making allowance for metaphors etc). But of course there is much more to it, and spiritual truths can only discerned spiritually. Which does not mean that the Gospel cannot be understood by the lost. The Gospel has supernatural power under the influence of the Holy Spirit.
"Inspired" would not really be applicable since the KJV is a very faithful and trustworthy translation. "Inspired" is what was given to the original writers by the Holy Spirit.
Little faith? Wrong; I have exactly NO faith whatsoever in anything you claim, because, as you are new here, you have not yet demonstrated the integrity and consistency that might earn my "faith". These little digs don't help your case; they only show me that you're here to stir trouble.

The source material behind your second citation comes directl from Gordon-Conwell Seminary, a normally-reputable source. However, the explanation provided undermines its own conclusion, noting that the same denomination in different nations is counted once for each nation. It does not come anywhere near convincing me of its veracity. So, though you can provide sources for your claim, they don't actually do enough to substantiate it.
I will be turning 72 in December and though I am new to this site I am a senior CHRISTIAN that has been most of the way around the world thank you very much witnessing to others about my Lord. Each verse of scripture that is not clearly a parable needs to be understood on many different levels at the same time. It is speaking of an actual happening to be taken literally, at the same time there is spiritual meaning, and also a deeper meaning.
God is spirit speaking of the spiritual kingdom but uses the literal to help our understanding of the spiritual. God does not give us historical history as a professor of history, history explains the spiritual.
The Hebrew scribes say there are seven levels of understanding scripture. We know that often, after reading a passage numbers of times, suddenly the holy spirit will show us a new and deeper level of understanding that passage.
Inspired in the sense that God put the same effort into preserving His message in the kjv as He did when the original penners of holy scripture, penned the holy scriptures.
In Acts we are told the Bereans were praised because they had so little faith in Paul they checked out what he was saying with the OT scripture, the only scripture they knew. Paul was an apostle, we are only disciples.

Truly, there is a hermeneutic in 1 Corinthians 2:13, that we do not look only at the immediate context, but also at the topical context; and that we can gain added insight into any verse of scripture when we compare it to other verses that are either parallel to it or else contrasting.
Scripture points out that man is not to add to scripture, yet you say God penned the KJV. If you believe that then you believe that God changed Passover to Easter, as the KVJ translates the word Passover as the word Easter. It is a wonderful translation God used for countless good, but we are to check all things against the original word.
