I would only say to this that we are to let no man judge us in regards to what we eat, or a holy day, or a new moon, or a sabbath day (Colossians 2:16).
As concerning condemnation, believers in Christ are not under the law (Romans 6:14), are dead to the law (Romans 7:4, Galatians 2:19), and are delivered from the law (Romans 7:6).
But as concerning obedience we are under the law to Christ (1 Corinthians 9:21). For, the law is written on our hearts and minds (Hebrews 8:8-10, Hebrews 10:16, Romans 8:7, Romans 8:4, 1 John 5:3, 2 John 1:6, Romans 13:8-10; Romans 5:5; 1 John 2:3-6) for those of us who are under the New Covenant (esp. Hebrews 8:8-10).
Just as it is written that if I disobey the food laws it will not affect my salvation in any way (1 Timothy 4:1-6), and yet I choose to obey them in order to show my Lord that I love Him more than those savoury meats (Matthew 5:17-20); so it is written that there is no condemnation for disobedience to the law (such as the sabbath); but that we are obedient to such things because we do love our Lord. And yet, if we were to disobey, it would not have any bearing whatsoever on our salvation. And if we are disobedient to the sabbath, or if we eat those savoury meats, it does not necessarily denote a lack of love for the Lord.
And also, let every man be fully convinced in his own mind as to whether he esteems one day above another or else sees every day as being alike (Romans 14).
I would only say to this that we are to let no man judge us in regards to what we eat, or a holy day, or a new moon, or a sabbath day (Colossians 2:16).
In the Leviticus, 23rd Chapter the sabbath day and the High Holy Days which begin I believe on the new moon. Are the feast of the Lord's. These days are to be observe in their season. In Colossians 2:16-17, "
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days. Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. These feast days are the plans of God, they represent the future, with example from the past. All Holy Days are not to eat or drink, such as the atonement, but still to be observe. So this is actually what a person would say to someone who do not keep these feast day of the Lord, if they were judging them on those High and Holy Sabbath days, they were keeping. They would quoted Colossians 2: 16-17. So if you keep the first day of the week, Sunday, then it makes no sense to use this verse. You cannot worship other days that’s not written in the Bible to do, and then use the Bible to justify it. So if you keep another day thats not written in the Bible, then you are doing something on your own, thus it would really be contradictorily.
First let me say that God had Peter to clearly warn us about some of Paul’s writing. (2Peter:3:15-16) (v.15) And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; (v.16)
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Now let us take heed to this warning, we can’t ignore all the bible and just concentrate on a hand full of verses out of the writings of Paul. Because some of Paul’s writing is hard to be understood.
Let's look some verses you post by Paul talking about to different laws. Paul concerning the unchangeable Royal Law of God. (Rom. 13:7-10) (v.7) Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. (v.8) Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. That’s the biblical definition of love, the keeping of God’s law. And you thought love was kissing and hugging and rolling around in bed. (v.9)
For this, THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, THOU SHALT NOT KILL, THOU SHALT NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, THOU SHALT NOT COVET; and
if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely,
THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR AS THYSELF. (v.10)
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
And that is what God’s holy commandments are all about; the first four tells you how to love God and the last six tells you how to love your neighbor. If you love your God you will not do any thing to offend him, like having other gods before him. You will do as he says like remember the sabbath day to keep it holy on the seventh day of the week. If you love him you will obey him when he tells you not to eat certain meats etc… And the same goes for your fellow man, if you love your neighbor you wouldn’t steal from him, you wouldn’t kill him, you wouldn’t try and sleep with his wife and so on and so forth. This is God’s definition of love and it is perfect in its ways. So if you say that you know God, but you don’t keep his commandments, lets see what the Lord had specially written for you. (See exodus 20: 1-17)
Then you post the animal sacrificial law in Romans 7: 4-6 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. 5
For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. 6
But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
What law? Not the commandments, so Paul must be talking about another law. Paul explained this in; (Heb.10:1, 9-10,18,26-27) (v.1)
For the law (
what law, the law of animal sacrifice?)
having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. (v.9)
Then said he, (Jesus) Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first that he may establish the second. (v.10) By which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. When Jesus died on the cross that was the end of the first covenant, which consisted of the blood of animals and the keeping of God’s commandments. And his death also brought in the second covenant, which consist of the blood of Jesus and the keeping of God’s commandments. (v.18)
Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. In other words, no more animals are going to die for your sins. (v.26)
For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.
Now do we understand what’s being said here? If you sin willfully after you have knowledge of what the truth is, no more animals are going to die for you. (v.27)
But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. Now if you are being deceived into believing that once you are under God’s grace you no longer have to keep his commandments, all you have to look forward to is the Day of Judgment and the lake of fire (fiery indignation).
So you're saying it is OK to steal and kill and to commit adultery and to bare false witness, etc...those things that you're saying that we have to separate from, and it's OK to do those things, because we don't have to keep the law. You say it causes division, because we under grace. But, Paul say in Romans 6:1
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? NO, we should not sin! Because people who read and understand the word of God knows that Paul say in Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
But Notice what Paul says in the next verse in Roman 7: (v.7) What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said,
THOU SHALT NOT COVET. Paul asked a question, is the law sin? He said God forbid, he said the only way that he knew what sin was, was by the law. (v.12)
Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Why in the world would a Christian want to do away with something that God said is holy.
Two different laws in the same chapter and you didn't see that...Romans 7: 6, 7
