Demons don't admit their wrongdoing; Christians do, and strive to make things right.
Funny, the very person you speak to (bliK) refuses to acknowledge her own sins. Yet they call us demonic..

Most of what you are saying is true, but we don't have to be perfect, because we know only one man who walk this earth that was perfect is Jesus. Because for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 23:3), and if you continue to live you will sin again. It is the willful sinning that you need to put in check. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. (Hebrew 10: 26, 27)
What a wonderful God. We only have to want to be perfect. Because we just can't be perfect, God makes allowances for that. We can have the perfection of God as a gift to us.

Again, you fail to acknowledge your own personal wrongdoing.
If I am doing wrong, it is between me and God, your are not God. I am sure that is news to you, but believe me it is true.

Yup... and God sees it all. ;)
That is true, God sees your judgments that is trying to take the place of the judgments that are only God's place to make. Or did you think that God watches all others, but you are so perfect you don't need God? Scripture tells us we ALL need Jesus. Again, this site is for discussing scripture not the "you" you seem to prefer discussing.

Well...it would be a blessing to see everyone on the same page.

many are called.............. few are chosen

labor to be (of) the chosen

every labor you do can bring you closer to being

only God and those close or closer to God know who the chosen are or might be

there are no denominations with God... just truth

lesser truths and greater... seek and you will find

"he who thinks he knows knows not yet as he ought to know"

there is alot to learn... but only the true in heart finds truth

the more true (like Christ) we wish to become, the more you can find and become

He sees you refusing to repent. Refusing to acknowledge your sin. While judging others.

Scripture states that we are saved by faith and not works. Scripture states that without works, faith is dead. Scripture states that the old covenant is obsolete, and that there is a new covenant in Christ's blood.

Any of these statements taken in isolation will lead to false doctrine. Scripture is to be taken as a whole, for it states, "The sum of Your word is truth."

How are we to reconcile the complexities of Scripture when we cannot even understand one another?

actually it is not between you and God

the comments of your friend with the flying pig are indicative of a mindset that believes it is godly, while addressing other Christians with comments that show a shameful tendency to portray anyone who disagrees with her, as demonic and agents of satan. that's a problem right there and that person is harmful and has actually influenced you to the point you have become nasty...before you were simply wrong in what you state regarding the law....but now you are nasty

you would do well to stop imitating her. very bad influence. the behavior is anything but Christian and it is one thing to disagree, but another to call other Christians demons and so on, as she does

It's simple, really. Now that we're all saved let's roll up our sleeves and get to work :)
Ephesians 2:4-10

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

It's not rocket science is it.

Saved by grace through faith and the Holy Spirit works in us to conform us to the image of Jesus for good works prepared beforehand to walk in them.

Romans 8:28-30
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus teaches his disciples, saying, "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16 NIV)

But just a little bit later he tells them, "Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them." (Matthew 6:1 NIV)

These two admonishments seem to be in contradiction with one another; but since they come so close together, it seems like there is probably a way to harmonize them. Are there different types of good deeds one should or should not do before men? What did Jesus mean by each of these statements if they don't contradict one another?

Many posters on this site warn against working because we are saved by faith not works. They add that we can never earn our salvation through works, and our works is not looked at by the Lord to achieve righteousness, that is only given to us as a gift. They feel these things mean we must be careful of our works.

For 300 years the church was led by either the men who knew Christ or were trained by these men. They said that Christ wanted us to live transformed lives, that faith in Christ included faith in all he said and to have faith in him was to live for him. They weren’t interested much in doctrine, they thought people understood scripture differently. They stood united in the core of beliefs and guarded against adding or taking from that core but were tolerant of differences in interpretation. There were heresies they argued against, but would never force their beliefs.

What do you think the Lord wants from us?
There is correlation between salvation and work
Also there is correlation between salvation and love.

The save have Jesus in their heart and Jesus in them will manifest Himself in loveing work
So the saved will help the needy base on love not to show off to make people he is good but no love in it.

Blik... please apply the reasoning that you use in this post.

If I, Dino246, am doing wrong, then it is between me and God. You cannot fault me for accusing you, turn around and accuse me, and expect anyone (other than your newest fangirl) to take you seriously.

Either stop making accusations, or deal with the ones leveled at you. There are no other reasonable options.

well I said I would create a post about the actual biblical definition about salvation so here it is :giggle: :coffee:

first of all, Christianity has a definition...not a presumption, not an opinion, not a collective of interpretations, but an actual DEFINED and ACCEPTED definition of the biblical narrative. in other words, not something that can be argued, but something that has been settled for centuries

35 Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. 36 But I said unto you, that ye have seen me, and yet believe not. 37 All that which the Father giveth me shall come unto me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
38 For I am come down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39 And this is the will of him that sent me, that of all that which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 For this is the will of my Father, that every one that beholdeth the Son, and believeth on him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6

Jesus gives a personal invitation and defines Himself as the way to God.

further, in John 3:16, He states:

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.

the simple definition of salvation is to believe in Jesus. further He states that no one who does come to Him will be turned away...or 'cast out'. He goes on to state that this is the will of God, the Father, that everyone who believes in Jesus will have eternal life and will be bodily raised to eternal life by Jesus Himself on 'the last day'

what does it mean then, to believe in Jesus?

1. you believe that Jesus was delivered by God the Father as punishment for our sins and the punishment was death

2. Jesus was buried after His death on the cross

3. God did not allow the body of His Son to be corrupted or decayed by death, but raised Him back to life on the third day

4. righteousness is given to us from God through believing the above to be true. we hear what is referred to as the gospel, we receive it and we act on it by accepting what the Bible states as true

There are no other conditions for salvation.

each person must decide for themself and then call upon the Lord Jesus Christ as their savior. you cannot become a Christian because your family goes to church. you cannot become a Christian because you do good deeds. you cannot become a Christian because you follow Old Testament law. you cannot become a Christian because you read the Bible

there is only ONE way to become a Christian and that is through Christ Himself

Jesus, is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He alone is sinless and has been offered as the final sacrifice and He lives forever to make intercession, or 'pleade' the case for the believers righteousness, which is IN Him and in no other and not through anything we can do.

18So the former commandment is set aside because it was weak and useless 19(for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.

20And none of this happened without an oath. For others became priests without an oath, 21but Jesus became a priest with an oath by the One who said to Him:

“The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind:

‘You are a priest forever.’ ”

22Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant.

23Now there have been many other priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office. 24But because Jesus lives forever, He has a permanent priesthood. 25Therefore He is able to save completely those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.

26Such a high priest truly befits us—One who is holy, innocent, undefiled, set apart from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.

27Unlike the other high priests, He does not need to offer daily sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people; He sacrificed for sin once for all when He offered up Himself. 28For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.

the transforming power of the Holy Spirit, who indwells all believers, is not salvation. this, occurs AFTER salvation

People argue over Paul and James where Paul said we are saved by faith and not by works, and James said faith without works is dead, and a person is justified by works and not faith alone.

But this is not a contradiction for Paul is speaking when we first confess Christ and James is speaking when we receive the Spirit for we do not receive the Spirit before we confess Christ.

When we first confess Christ all we can do is have faith and none of our works according to the flesh can save us.

But when we receive the Spirit then we have to have works to have faith active in our life to be saved.

And why is this.

Because out of faith, hope, and charity which is love in action, works, charity is the greatest.

Charity is greater than faith and faith works by love, and love must be done in works for it to be active in a person's life.

For love is the fulfilling of the law.

Love is greater than faith and love has to be done in works for it to be valid in a person's life, so no love, works, no faith.

But Paul agrees with James that works are required to be saved for he is speaking according to having the Spirit.

Charity is love in action, works, and Paul said he could have all faith so that he could remove mountains but if he did not have charity then he is nothing.

And in another place Paul said that is a person preaches God blesses us with our wants to withdraw yourselves from them and having food and clothing be content.

For the love of money is the root of all evil for it neglects the poor and needy which is no love, and love is the fulfilling of the law.

Which James points out if people do not help the poor and needy and help people if they have the means then their faith is dead for they do not show love, works.

So Paul and James say the same thing that a person has to have works because it is love and love is greater than faith and love must be done in works for it to be valid.

Which John said if a person has this world's good which is the finances to help people and they do not do it then the love of God does not dwell in them, so do not love in word, neither in tongue, but love in deeds, works, and in truth.

So Paul, James, and John all say the same thing to have works to have love valid in your life to have faith active in your life for love is greater than faith.

And out of faith, hope, and charity, charity will go on forever where faith and hope are not needed in heaven for the saints are there.

We are saved by faith and not by works when we first confess Christ, but after we receive the Spirit we have to have works of love to have faith active in our life.

So there is no contradiction between Paul and James and they both say the same thing concerning a person is justified by works and not faith alone.

But some people will argue over Paul and James as if there is a contradiction in the Bible.

we are saved by grace, not by works, in no time or place is any man saved by his own goodness or wrks

It is not his own goodness but works of the Spirit which is love which some people neglect that and fall short of having love and love is greater than faith.

1Jn 3:17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
1Jn 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

And Paul and James agree with him.

Let us not love in word but in deed, works, and love is greater than faith.

Love is greater than faith and love has to be done in works.

We are saved by faith

Faith causes us to repent and call out to God. And this is how we are saved.

Faith also causes us to trust God, which will cause us to do what he says (works)

we are also new creatures thus we act as our new selves.

Works are a result of salvation. Not a precursor or requirement for salvation

When you sin against people. Thats between you and them.
I present my interpretation of scripture as something I hope others will think about, not as orders to them of how to run their lives. It is always with the hope they will check scripture to see if I am correct or not,. I believe and live different from you, I do not copy your way.

If you read what others say as being directed as being against you, that is your problem and something you insert into the post, not something that is there. If you disagree with my interpretation, say so, don't go into this personal thing about how it is against you. I speak of scripture, and all scripture is of love, not against anyone. Even the law that points to sin is given to you out of the love God has for you.
