OK, one more time. I'm going to address each of these abused verses.

Notice the red words in 1 Peter 3:21. They refer to WATER baptism. Water is used to remove dirt from skin. And the verse says NOT water. So, the baptism that does NOW save us refers to baptism of the Holy Spirit.

What you guys ignore or reject is what John the baptizer said:

Mark 1:8 - I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

John's baptism was symbolic and used water. Jesus' baptism was REAL and was dry. The indwelling Holy Spirit is a real and dry baptism.

Tired. "born of water" means physical birth, while "born of the Spirit" means spiritual birth or regeneration.

The crowd had already realized their sin from v.37. They were convicted by the fact that they HAD crucified the Messiah. So that means they were ALREADY SAVED when Peter stated v.38.

Paul had 3 days to meditate on having met the Messiah. By the time Ananias showed up, Paul already knew that the resurrected Jesus WAS the Messiah. He was ALREADY SAVED.

Being baptized "into Jesus Christ" would refer to the baptism of the Holy Spirit, who places believers "in Him" or in union with Him as Eph 1:13 says. And "baptized into His death" would refer to the symbolic meaning of water baptism.

Very clearly a reference to baptism of the Holy Spirit. Mark 1:8

First, scholars note that the text from v.9-20 isn't found in the earliest and most reliable manuscripts, which means those verses were ADDED later on by scribes. Therefore, NOT inspired. However, that said, we do NOT know the scribe's thoughts about what he wrote. He could have easily been thinking of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

ditto, ditto, ditto.

You've made no points here. In fact, just the opposite by failure to "rightly divide the Word of God", per 2 Tim 2:15.

Paul made a clear point about NOT being sent to baptize but to preach. Your view demands baptism along with preaching.

Your view is unbiblical. As easily shown.

Purely self serving conjecture. Scripture is indicated.

I've already shown from Acts 10:43 that forgiveness is based on faith in Christ.
"All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

Why don't you believe this verse? The few verses that mention repentance and forgiveness are specific to the people being addressed.

Paul NEVER wrote that water baptism is required for salvation. And the context for the few verses you keep quoting do NOT mention salvation, so you are only speculating about it.

Addressed in previous post.

Physical and spiritual birth.

These are the ONLY 2 verses that mentions repentance and sin cleansing. And the context is specific to the addressees. Not for everyone in the human race.

It is amazing that you refuse to accept the difference between the baptism of John and the baptism of Jesus. You simply lack discernment and the ability to rightly divide the Word of Truth.

Good luck on that approach.
Not biblical.

I addressed each of the verses you cited and explained what they are about.

If the best evangelist in the history of the world made the point that he wasn't sent to baptize but to preach, it's quite clear that salvation doesn't require water baptism.

Salvation DOES require Spirit baptism, though.

I quoted Acts 10:43 and you reply with "not biblical". And I suppose you are serious. Since you seem to not know, Acts 10:43 is IN the Bible. You should have known that.

You are doing with water baptism what certain believers of the Pharisee party did with circumcision. No difference at all.

That's a stretch....who said He was sent here to baptize?
One will not be spirit baptized if water baptism is not already accomplished.
Proper repentance is 1 2 3.

you are wrong

Paul said he was not sent to baptize? can you find that scripture? perhaps you are not aware of it?

every person who states you must be baptized in water or you are not saved, have undermined the blood of Christ

we are saved through the blood of Christ, who died in our place, for our sins, when we accept Him as our Savior

there is no other kind of salvation

many who practice beliefs outside of scripture will shy away from discussing how the blood of Christ saves us and for that matter, they will go out of their way to supply some other event or practice that actuallys aves

in this thread, the op tries to convince people that the blood of Jesus does not actually save us. we read over and over again, that unless you are immersed in water, not even Jesus can save you. you have to save yourself by getting baptized

BUT, scripture explains things very differently

Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. Acts 20:28

and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Colossians 1:20

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace Ephesians 1:7

How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! Hebrews 9:14

In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
Hebrews 9:22

There are many many more verses and passages that ascertain the only way to be saved is through the blood of Christ.

without the shedding of blood there is not forgiveness...

BLOOD, not water
I've stated over and over that obedience to God's command to be water baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus is what brings about remission of sin. It's not about the water. Without the shed blood of Jesus getting water baptized would be an empty, useless ritual.

Exactly. It was because of God's grace that mankind was provided with a way to be saved. Humanity did nothing to deserve it. It is because of Jesus' sacrifice that individual's sins can be remitted through obedience to the God-given command to be water baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

This is a contradictory statement

On one hand, You claim it is by grace and mad did nt do anythign to deserve it

On the other hand you claim man MUST do the work of water baptism to earn it.

@FreeGrace2 The following is a copy of a verse you posted in previous posts; notice the portion you highlighted. "All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” What you seem to fail to realize is that the scripture specifically states that it is through Jesus' name that individual's who believe in him will receive forgiveness of their sins.

Acts 22:16
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Acts 2:38
And be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,

It is not a contradiction.

God designed a way of salvation even though mankind did nothing to deserve it. As the word shows, God's' plan consisted of the following:

The Lord Jesus paid the penalty for the sins of all humanity through his shed blood.
Individual's are to repent of their personal sin and obey the command to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus in order to receive remission of their sin.
And God will provide the gift of the Holy Ghost.

One's belief in Jesus and faith in his entire message will prompt obedience to God's plan bringing about one's spiritual rebirth. Afterward all are to go forth in pursuit of perfection/spiritual maturity.

It is a contradiction no matter what you say

1. we can’t do anything
2. we must do something

and each time you made that statement concerning water, you were wrong

I cannot believe someone who calls themself a Christian actually thinks its water that washes away your sins

Bad, bad interpretation of scripture.
Can you explain how or why my comments are "bad bad interpretation of Scripture"?

Just throwing out criticisms don't cut it. You need to be able to explain your "critique".

Do you understand the difference between water baptism and Spirit baptism? If so, please explain the difference. Mark 1:8 SHOWS there is a difference.

Wrong question. I never suggested that anyone did. I showed what Paul said about his own ministry. He wasn't interested in water baptism, as 1 Cor 1 shows clearly.

One will not be spirit baptized if water baptism is not already accomplished.
What evidence do you have from Scripture that supports your claim here?

Proper repentance is 1 2 3.
Counting??

What you seem to fail to realize is that the Word for "name" in the Greek refers to reputation of the person.

What point were you trying to make about 'His name' anyway?

Acts 22:16
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Acts 2:38
And be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,
Both of these verses refer to the reputation of Jesus as the Son of God, Messiah. That's what saves.

Not simply calling out "Jesus!".
