If you say you are saved, you will be obedient. If you are not obedient, how can it be you are saved? We are given the gift of salvation and persevering faith so that we are created able to be obedient, and therefore we must be obedient.
Matthew 28:18 "Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.
19Therefore go and make disciples
d of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
1 John 2:
3 "By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments.
4If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5But if anyone keeps His word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him:
6Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked."
1 John 3:
2 "Beloved, we are now children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when Christ appears,
a we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is.
3And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as Christ is pure.
b 4Everyone who practices sin practices lawlessness as well. Indeed, sin is lawlessness.
c 5But you know that Christ appeared to take away sins, and in Him there is no sin.
6No one who remains in Him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has seen Him or known Him."
