Ever heard of Romans 13? Well all those crazy pastors who got put in jail were disobeying Paul in Romans 13:1-5
"Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience."
Every one of these pastors broke the above verses, and they got their consequences. I was born and raised in Alberta, and lived there from 2000-2014. A lot of rednecks, with low information. Coates was in a cult. He was in a church that had to be live, with all the congregation meeting at the same time. How me where the Bible says that is necessary? It is no where!
My church in BC, we did Zoom for 15 months. Today was our first day back in church. Most still wore masks, even though it is not required by the gov't, but we have a lot of old people, so the pastor requested it.
Every single church that met in person during the pandemic was breaking the provincial laws and the law of God. And too influenced by American media in some cases!
In BC we kept our deaths and cases lower than the rest of Canada. (Forgive me if I constantly forget the Maritimes, they were crazy locked up!)
We had a real crisis with COVID which is now, almost over, despite the fact we have no facilities to make vaccines, and had to buy from other countries.
Trudeau-I have no words for this corrupt, ethically challenged lying communist dictator. OK, maybe a few. Yet we survived in spite of him. And to hate Trudeau these days has become mainstream. He may win the election he is going to call, because we have so many right wing splinter parties who will split the vote. We are almost communist, but hopefully people will wake up and realize another 4 years of this idiot will destroy Canada. I've never voted Liberal in my life, since his father was elected head of the Liberal party in 1967. He was creepy then, but at least had a few brains, compared to his son Justin, who flunked grade 7, and flunked out of 3 university programs on the environment. Justin is no more than a puppet for China, and on the strings of his stupid advisors, who ran Ontario into the biggest debt of any sun-sovereign entity, with the mess they made out of green power. (Not discussing Green because it is the worst modern invention there is!)
If it was up to the west, Trudeau would have been gone in 2019. The Conservatives won the popular vote by 200K. But the Liberals got 36 more seats, because Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes have so much fewer people per riding. Western Canada needs to double the number of seats, and the east will never let that happened.

- Quebec: 75K
- Ontario: 100K
- BC & AB: 130K
As you can see, the west has been robbed. It's why you are going to hear the west fighting to separate, esp if Trudeau wins this uncalled but coming election.
As for getting Canadian news makes you an expert on Canada, not so much. I rarely comment on US news, and I have lived in the US for 2 years, we have 10 American channels straight from the US, plus I have many family members who live in the US, either born there or naturalized. So stay out of Canadian affairs, as you know nothing about them.
And as I said "Freedom" and William Wallace is an American cultural value, not Canadian. We value other things! (I took a course in politics last year and we had students from China and Vietnam, and me! I held my own on each political issue, and even won a few people my way!)
