I have never really understood what people mean by born again...

They mostly seem to reject theosis, so I'm confused

You show great confusion of scripture.

What is theosis? | GotQuestions.org
www.gotquestions.org/theosis.html
The term theosis has two meanings, “the condition or the state of deity” and “the deification of man.” Only God has the condition of deity in and of Himself. No man can ever attain true divinity. There is only one God and we are not Him. However, theosis is also the state of being divinized or God-infused, both in character and in person.

Born again ...is a term used to describe a person who is a sinner and repents of h/her sins and thereby commits to being a new person who is doing everything they can to avoid sinning again in the future...thus....born again...... as in a new person.

We can never be like God. There is only one God and it is HIM.

The Church Fathers taught theosis

Take it up with them

I am not Orthodox though, for the record

I do not think that is a good way to baptize a baby

Also, playing dressup is weird

Babies need no baptism. Baptism is needed when a person repents. It is the conclusion of the repentance process and the beginning of righteous status..

I can tell you without them Christianity would not be alive today

They won the philosophy debate

I agree, baptism should be engaged by one old enough to understand the ramifications

Actually, Acts 19 suggests baptism by water is Johns

Jesus immerses us in the Spirit

If you must though, I guess, for sure don't do it like you're torturing the baby

I would suggest that he means we

a) are made in his image and

b) should we pass the 'test' in this life we get to become eternal like God.

So we get to live as God does in his kingdom but we are not God, because we will still answer to the Trinity just as we do here on earth.

I concluded that...but, with respect I wanted explanation....because it is way off base.

The closer we draw near to Him, the closer He draws near to us.
Trolls will become more frequent just as His Own will become more conformed to the image of the Son in these last of the last days.

means nothing to me, they used to teach you have to go through them to get to heaven.
Jesus is the way according to His Word, not a fish hat wearing pontiff.

Seems I read once that the RCC had classes or some such treatment to help them leave their gayness behind. That was a few years ago. Dont know if its still a thing.
