If I owned my own bakery, and if some gay folk wanted me to bake a cake and make it nastay . . . I'd throw my head back, chuckle, and laugh out a, "Uhhhhh no! But I'll tell you what . . . this one time only, if you let me bake a respectful cake for you and your wedding, I'll do it for free."
I'd be so happy to see this person (for they're an opportunity to "save some," as the Apostle Paul would say), and I would explain why, which the name of my bakery should explain anyway "The Christian Baker." Hey, I highly doubt the gay folk would come into my little bakery, but if they did, they'd know what they were getting themselves into. But why not make them feel loved! Hate the sin, Love the person. Seems so simple to me. "Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord." Seems so simple to me.
Be happy. Never stifle the Joy of the Lord, especially when people are much, much, much less Righteous than we are (rolls eyes). Be always be happy; never be mean or cruel. Embrace those who need Christ? Or, shall we only embrace those who already claim to possess Him?
But here is where the buck stops: If "you" can't handle being around gay people, well . . . ok. But perhaps one day we will learn more of what it Truly means to be Confident. People who are Whole and Complete in Christ have the internal Grit of the Spirit so as to be Enabled to engage with sinners. This takes time . . . True Christians are Transformed, and that doesn't necessarily happen overnight. In fact, I don't think that anyone was instantly Transformed in all ways good. Maturity slowly comes, and this too, in terms of our Christianity. It is so important to realize that God doesn't require any of us to do a single . . . stinkin' . . . thing for Him. We are not that great. We breathe because He allows it to be. These realities often take much pain and agony to Truly learn and Know. But until we suffer and struggle, "arrested development" may linger for many, many years, if not decades.
Be strong, Christians! It's no big deal to serve a gay person. Do we not serve those who come into our churches, but have never received Christ? What . . . do we think that these people aren't smoking crack, having sex with animals, stealing, getting wasted, etc. These people continue to do these things during the week and in between church visits. Totally defiled, we allow them into our churches. But we don't know their exact sins. Do we care? Do we think to ourselves, "Geepers, I wonder what kinda crazy n wild stuff that little whippersnapper commits??" - No, we don't. We're supposed to be welcoming everyone . . . especially those who still live in horrific sin. We're supposed to be canvassing our neighborhoods, not looking for those who are saved, but looking for those who are, well . . . having sex with animals, smoking crack, getting wasted, stealing . . . all of that extreme stuff above. These are the ones who need Christ . . . DESPERATELY!
Remember . . . their Spirit was made by God just as was ours. Love those who hate you. Feed them, meaning, do good to those who hurt to destroy you.
